  1. Tom‏ @Haudricourt Rangers want pitching so #Brewers would have to include in deal with Lucroy. Likely checking to see if there’s better deal for Lucroy alone.
  2. Does this lower our trade leverage though if other teams know how desperate we are to trade him before the deadline today? I guess it's probably no secret to begin with that we really need to move him by 3:00 this afternoon. We don't play till what? 9pm central time? He can make the game on a fast flight. That is the plan. We are just keeping him in the middle of the country so he can virtually play for anyone tonight.
  3. As Haudricourt mentions they may be fielding other offers now and already have Texas' final offer. No need to talk if the final offer is on the table. 36s Tom‏ @Haudricourt If reports true that #Brewers and Rangers haven’t talked Lucroy since last night, it’s probably because seeing if better offer out there.
  4. Keep hearing how the Dodgers were interested in Lucroy to flip him. Maybe we wanted pitching prospects and Dodgers could get something we don't really need with him? Profar? I don't know.
  5. Braves didn't want to give up prospects that's why they went Kemp. The Brewers want to eat money and the Braves want to take the entire contract for lesser prospects.
  6. This really isn't all that crazy of a concept either. If you think about it pitchers shag fly balls 3-4 days of the week. Maybe only not doing so on days they start and have a bullpen session. That's a lot of practice in the OF. The only true downside you might have could be losing speed/range as most pitchers aren't the fastest. Could be really useful when wanting to just use a lefty pitcher for a left handed batter. Just send the other reliever to LF for that one batter and then have him go back to pitching after that at-bat is done.
  7. Agreed. That pick would have ended up a huge success just like all our other amazing mid to late first round picks of recent years.
  8. Everyone says we should have started the rebuild sooner, but without that epic collapse in 2014 we would have won the division claiming Melvin as a hero. Lohse/Garza/Ramirez would have all been brilliant signings. That close to being different....ahhhh baseball.
  9. Rangers are still talking about Chris Sale which may be delaying a possible Lucroy deal. I doubt a Sale deal happens so hopefully it will finally just die. May also be the reason the Mets think they could still get Lucroy. If Rangers get Sale no a whole lot of teams still looking at Lucroy.
  10. Honestly now, who is the most valuable player on the trade market--Jean Segura, Jonathan Villar, or Orlando Arcia? Villar. Your point? So you are telling me if we trade Villar he is getting a Top 20 prospect or a package that is equivalent? I am always open minded...but I think Arcia has the most value.
  11. We need to construct a 90+ win team. Once we do that we will compete with the Cubs. Too many of you want to calculate it out when we can just easily win the division with 85 wins. Winning the division isn't easy and never will be. Time to acquire talent and start putting a real team on the field. Stop waiting for a Cubs team to regress.
  12. We don't need one, but why can't we get one? It is like some sin if we do to some people like we are trying to replace Lucroy in a Lucroy trade. Well if we use the Cleveland debacle as a model, we went all in on a catcher as a lead while ignoring their more elite OF prospects and arms. I'd say we may have done the same with the Oakland deal. Go for the Luc replacement instead of better prospects. The moral of the story is to get them when they are available and not force it. Their OFers weren't available. THEY WERENT AVAILABLE.
  13. Thanks for taking the time to let us know. That is what I figured.
  14. Check out the Drek Norris thread. Some of us took some educated guesses on why. It does make some sense.
  15. We don't need one, but why can't we get one? It is like some sin if we do to some people like we are trying to replace Lucroy in a Lucroy trade.
  16. Yah that is sort of why his arm isn't really talked about. There is also a pretty big fear bad defense at 1st base will hurt the offensive production.
  17. Because he is pretty bad at 3B and likely will never utilize that great arm at 1B.
  18. I disagree regardless, but Guerra isn't proven so not even close.
  19. Evan Grant 2m Evan Grant‏ @Evan_P_Grant Nobody has flat out told me: Gallo is centerpiece of a deal to Milwaukee, but all logical signs point that way.
  20. No that is my 1-2 punch! Probably though as Gallo can't play a very good 3B and benching Perez would be a shame the way he is hitting.
  21. How can you say that without knowing the return?
  22. At this point I'd say a deal to the Rangers is almost a sure thing. I have a hunch they are just seeing what prospects they can get for which players. Is it worth it to trade Davies or do we just deal them Guerra. OR do we send them Jeffress. That's where I think talks are at this point. Total guess though.
  23. Gallo reminds me of Mike Olt. I will never understand why they were such highly ranked guys. I think Gallo will fair better, but a Top 15 prospect should be a future star...I don't see that with Gallo.
  24. And hit a ton of homeruns. With the OBP focused building plan he could win us a lot of games on one swing of the bat. It is just how much will he hit? Probably not enough to be a super star, but he should be a really nice player. I'd want more with Gallo, but he is a nice prospect. I am worried Gallo ends up as too much of the package.
  25. Evan Grant‏ @Evan_P_Grant @benjihana Davies, Guerra, Nelson are all names I've heard. And I'd guess in that order of preference.
