  1. They are still trying to convince Lucroy!!!!!!
  2. If this was over money I vote we bench Lucroy through 2017.
  3. Never is...just how teams work.
  4. I know this "worked out" with Gomez last year, but don't hold your breath people. I honestly hope they just hold onto him and hope for a miracle this winter. His market is dead right now.
  5. Wow what an idiot. Must really hate Cleaveland. Hope Lucroy turn into a Gomez at the plate and never gets a big payday.
  6. Small market. Only had half a year left of control from what I heard. They have other good relievers and may not feel an all out pursuit of a wild card is worth it Getting Felipe Rivero is a huge get for the Pirates for this year and the next few years. This is not a White Flag type of trade for the Pirates... Who is better Melancon or Rivero? It isn't even close. Not saying it is a white flag deal, but it isn't like they are trying hard to win that wild card spot.
  7. Yah I will probably complain about not getting McKenzie for a long time. If I was in charge I would have made it happen somehow. Even if I had to send more to the Indians to make it happen. I'm just going to pretend McKenzie was untouchable and there was no way to get him. Mejia/NcKenzie would have been incredible. Honestly it is hard to get excited over Sheffield at 5'10". However I hope he impresses and proves me wrong as a starter.
  8. He is short, but I guess he doesn't pitch as flat as you would typically think. He also keeps the ball in the yard which someone like him might be prone to.
  9. There was a lot of speculation of Sheffield at the start of things, but no solid reports. It could very well be him. If that's the case a lot of people freaked out before the full deal was announced. Still hoping for McKenzie until forever.
  10. I'd really caution about that BleacherReport claim. No one seems to think that is accurate. Possible though. 4th piece may depend on how bad Lucroy's demands are and who covers them?
  11. What is so bad about last year? His stats were pretty good for his age last year. I'd probably call them "holding his own" kind of stats. Low minors guys haven't broke out yet...just look at Arcia. He didn't hit that well at A ball
  12. Some of you need to learn how a players market works. Chapman got so much because every team in contention seemed to heavily be on on him. Some teams had him as priority #1 and wanted him badly. Lucroy on the other hand had a small market of teams chasing him and most didn't want him that bad. Actually most preferred other things. There seemed to be only two teams that wanted Lucroy. One was the Mets which we knew wasn't offering much and then the Indians. The Indians knew the weak market and didn't bid up themselves. We didn't get Zimmer/Frazier because the Indians knew they didn't need to offer them. They gave up just enough to win the bidding and convince us not to hold onto him. Props to the Indians for knowing the situation. Props to Stearns for maximizing what little leverage he had.
  13. Yeah I can relate. McKenzie seems like a very special, dominant talent. Though the concern over him only throwing 93 mph is legit, he seems like a true pitcher, not just a thrower. His numbers so far are eye-popping He is tall and room to grow. He will be throwing 97 before you know it.
  14. No I think Stearns loves a guy with big time speed and a guy who walks as much as he strikes out.
  15. Really just sad McKenzie is not a Brewer...like really sad.
  16. One red flag about Greg Allen is the fact he played most of this year in A+ ball at the age of 23.
  17. Not trying to get this off topic, but when you made your account a week ago, have 50 posts, and your name isn't Ken Rosenthal your insider info is probably going to be taken with a grain of salt. Now you are sitting here bragging when we all knew a Lucroy trade was coming and you said he was going to be traded to the most obvious team there is. You then provided no real info that would actually point to you really knowing something(like players involved). I don't know why you are shocked people didn't care for your insider info.
  18. Maybe a bounce back candidate? He was pretty good the last two years. I really wouldn't be against such a move...but not for any notable promising prospect.
  19. Well this would be the cherry on top of this turd sundae. It's late and I just laughed so hard my infant son woke up. I can't wait to see what your sundae looks like if Lucroy vetos and we have to take that garbage Mets offer.
  20. Agreed...but I sorted prepared for this awhile ago when the market for Lucroy was pretty dry.
  21. Norris veteran catcher with good D?
  22. Wonder where Mejia will go. He is destroying A+ ball, but Nottingham currently sits behind the dish at AA Biloxi.
  23. If Lucroy/#Indians deal goes thru, #Brewers could be landing spot for C Derek Norris. Crew among teams talking w/#Padres
  24. Chang is no slouch either. Chang seems on the trajectory towards eventually becoming a top 100-ish type prospect. Have heard some very positive reports about him over the past few weeks. Could be future 3B? A lot of pop in that bat this year and doesn't seem likely to stick at SS long term(nor does he have a spot there on the Brewers).
  25. Sadly for us the market for Lucroy wasn't there. No one really wanted him. It was the Mets garbage offer or trading him to the Indians of you ask me. Oh well Mejia will hopefully make us all happy in a few years. If one of the other two pan out as a starter even better. Allen seems like a sure bet to provide something to the MLB club in a few years the way he walks/runs.
