  1. Just wait till a GM gets his email hacked. I bet they won't be making fun of talking on the phone then.
  2. Heyman reporting Brewers are open for business and they will consider trading long term pieces if it makes the return better. K-Rod supposably has interest so I think he will go, Ramirez also getting interest so he should be gone, and lots of talk about Peralta/Fiers so one of them might go too. Lots of guys are going to be on the move, this rebuilding idea might just become reality, and the farm system is about to be reloaded
  3. Well we are a small market. All we do is create talent for them...and apparently give it to them while they are still cheap.
  4. Heyman says Brewers might be preparing for a fire sale type deadline.
  5. I am really confused why Peralta is listed.
  6. I-PASS is really nice if traveling through Illinois/Indiana and farther out east. Though I have decided to just avoid tolls when traveling into Northern Illinois. It is usually just as fast/same distance avoiding them. I would rather give the gas pump my money vs. Illinois.
  7. Well since Doug Melvin has done pretty well in trades so far in his tenure I don't really think it is a big deal. I think I would prefer phone calls myself. Easier to use negotiation tactics and really feel out the interest from the other GM.
  8. Slow like usual. Teams aren't committed to a plan yet and usually a few players hold everything up. Parra could be holding up the OF market since he is widely considered the best value option out there. Upton/Gomez might be fallback or panic options for teams. The Brewers are going to make quite a few trades here. Cotts and Parra might as well be considered gone, Gomez likely to be traded, Lind is another very likely chip to be traded, Segura and K-Rod very well could be traded, would not be surprised to see the heavy interest in Fiers turn into something....heck anyone on the team is open to be traded from what I have seen. I would expect 4 trades at the minimum....most likely the 4 I first mentioned. I would not be surprised to see some of our players go in package deals either(Segura, K-Rod, or Cotts with a bigger piece).
  9. There are A LOT more than 5 players they shouldn't be motivated to trade. Everyone should be on the block though. It isnt like we have a Mike Trout or a younger Ryan Braun. No one on this team is that special.
  10. Gomez has injury issues himself.
  11. Parra can play all three OF positions, having a career year, and he is a lefty. Might be the most sought after OFer on the market. He won't get the biggest package, but every team looking for an OFer will prefer him since it won't take big time prospects.
  12. Because there's a chance you could sign the free agent. You don't give more thinking you can resign him after the season....that would be bad business. You have to assume at the end of the season they will be gone. Just like you can't trade a guy and assume you can get him back after the season .
  13. The only thing his hot streak means is that we MIGHT be able to trade him. Which I still think it is a long shot....but maybe someone pulls the trigger last second.
  14. No chance he wins the ROY. Bryant or Pederson will win that...after that he could slide in depending on how he finishes.
  15. Fiers has 4 years left, 1 pre arby year and 3 arby years. Despite the control I don't think he nets as much as you would hope for. Maybe trust your scouts and go for some guys in the lower minors. Even if Fiers is a #3 starter going forward you will save a lot of money though. Something attractive if you are the Blue Jays.
  16. My issue was the fact I just don't see much of a ceiling anymore for him. He should be a solid PH option and emergancy 1B if you need one for a couple weeks. He just will never be a starter at 1B and is not very versatile. I like having brighter potential than that in my lists.
  17. Exactly why I list another 5....figured I'd do something wrong along the way.
  18. I'd rather ship him to the Angels for Trout.
  19. Which now makes the question of Lucroy even harder to answer... Do you insist on trading him if he keeps getting the most out of the pitchers? Can Maldonado, Centeno, or Weisenburger do as good or better? I personally would probably sign a veteran off the FA market to handle duties. No one flashy just a cheap vet to help the pitchers out.
  20. I wonder if Taylor Jungmann could be a Jacob deGrom type guy. deGrom never really lit the world on fire in the minors for the most part, but has clearly figured it out at the MLB level. Now I don't think Jungmann will ever be that good because quite frankly deGrom has better stuff, but deGrom also had control issues in the minors that limitted his results much like Jungmann. Maybe Jungmann can be a lower 3 ERA guy despite never having the results prior to warrant it. Jungmamm should be a very interesting story line the longer he keeps this up. I have enjoyed watching him keep hitters off balance. Give Lucroy some credit too, he has been calling very good games for Jungmann.
  21. The one thing Jungmann has that no other Brewer developed pitcher ever seems to have is the ability not to get flustered. He keeps his composer pretty well throughout a game other than occassionally just not throwing a strike no matter what. He got into bad counts with the pitcher twice today, yikes. I bet that stems from his time as a big game pitcher in college. Regardless he has been impressive in that regard for a rookie.
  22. Through my experiences when it comes to proposing trades it is best to use Top 100 prospects and such because the more typical fans will understand. Everyone here isn't a prospect wiz so using those guys still lower in the minors who aren't ranked is pretty hard. We are just trying to match value to a player. I see it a lot on here where recent first rounders are being proposed as minor pieces/throw ins in a respective trade. People just don't understand the future value of those players. I also think posters fail to see the risk in our players. Gomez having a down year and injured, Parra hitting way over his career norm, Lind injury history and can't hit lefties, Arcia could flop like any prospect, Etc. Etc. Etc. Everything isn't so shiny looking in either. Our players have issues too.
  23. Dylan Bundy is probably too much of a risk for the Brewers to take on. You probably wouldnt get much outside of him in a trade if they would even be open to it. Hunter Harvey is in that same boat. You could get him and a couple other pieces, but do you really want an injured player as the main piece? I'm not sure I would want them compared to possible deals other teams could offer and the rest of their system doesn't really look Gomez worthy.
  24. He put up a .397 OBP and .941 OPS with almost as many walks as strikeouts (42 BB vs. 52 K)... [sarcasm]Guess they should have sent him down to face teenagers in A+ in order to raise his prospect stock.[/sarcasm] Glad you used the sarcasm button because the average age is 24...not quite teenagers.
