  1. Our OF defense is a total joke.Parra should be charged with an error for letting the runner advance to third.
  2. They have been constantly waving and just being a smidge immature....and no, not just kids. I hate that little area they have behind home plate. Them being at field level is what makes it annoying. They are right in the background of the batter/catcher/umpire.
  3. Well since his back has been bothering him for over a week even then it would have been the same problem. He would have went for a physical and not come out well.
  4. These people behind the plate should be ejected from the game and banned.
  5. Carlos Gomez is out today also. Rest or trade possibilities? I am sure it is just rest. They could be doing cautionary rest to make sure everyone is healthy this week. Don't want to overwork any of these possible trade chips.
  6. It is a buyer's market...but then again Fiers is in a league of his own. If you want a mid rotation arm with MANY years of CHEAP control that list is very short. If you want a rental of some sort then yah the list is long and a buyer's market.
  7. A good sell high reliever would be Will Smith.
  8. I try not to get excited about Fiers and his possible return, but not so great pitchers can get great returns. Samardzija/Hamels brought back a giant haul and we once traded a legit prospect for 2 years of a #3. Maybe Pentecost to prepare for the enevitable Lucroy trade. Pentecost while injured should move through the minors pretty fast. Did well in 107 at-bats in Single-A. Pompey seems like a bit of a reach...but it wouldn't be the first time the Blue Jays overpay for a guy. Fiers would probably be better than RA Dickey ever was for them.
  9. MNBREW, You go on to insult Khris Davis for his OBP, which has vastly improved this year and some of that has to be legit, but you talk about putting Jean Segura at 3rd/2nd. That just makes no sense to me. Jean Segura has less than half the walks Davis does with twice as many at bats. Jean Segura is by far the worst starting player and hitter on this team. His OBP barely nudges over .300 despite a .275 average...YIKES. The guy shouldn't even be starting at SS let alone 3B or 2B. Also your other mention to take over 3B has also proved nothing in the OBP department past AVG(small sample alert). Might want to trade Gennett too as his OBP is lacking just as bad, though you did talk about Segura at 2nd base at one point. Sad we are trying to throw Davis under the bus despite only one full season under hit belt. Khris Davis is a solid player with room to grow I would not be trading him unless I got a really good offer.
  10. The no hitter easily. The build up of probably 5 innings would be pretty intense. Then for your pitcher to actually do it would be crazy as a Brewers fan. We never get the no hitter luck. The winning grand slam comes in second. The other two are more avoidances of bad plays...so you will probably be happy it is over not jumping around the living room in excitement.
  11. Would have been nice to see a clutch hit to pad trade value...instead he makes his third K of the day end the game. Oh well...
  12. Lower back tightness! Trade value going waaaaaay down
  13. Trade value will be much lower them though. Inflated value mid season in a weak market plus a year more of control. You are correct. Still, a player like Lind should land at least a fairly strong return in the offseason (i.e. not all is lost) Now if Parra gets injured...that would be a minor disaster. If Lind is out past the deadline they need to just prepare to trade Parra sooner rather than later.
  14. Trade value will be much lower them though. Inflated value mid season in a weak market plus a year more of control.
  15. Can't stand watching Lucroy anymore. DP machine. Would have 2 in 2 at bats if not for Parra trying to steal.
  16. Lovely a trade chip we can't trade.
  17. Then again if Conforto hits like he did today the next couple days they will probably just stand pat.
  18. Wow Braun just made the ball go over his head twice...that takes some skill.
  19. Maybe Matz for Lucroy. Using that thinking we will be searching forever and end up with a comp pick. Wheeler would be an legit center piece to a Gomez trade(depending on his medicals looking fine), but would take some other pieces. Probably some promising guys in the lower minors.
  20. How about Wheeler for Gomez? Plus a few pieces in the low minors sounds good.
  21. Makes sense. Once they get to the deadline someone is either traded or they flat out drop Lohse. Can't imagine them going with a 6 man rotation very long.
  22. Ynoa or Fulmer would be a good guess as to who they may have wanted previously.
  23. I want to build a team that everyone looks at and thinks, "Wow that team is really good." not "If everything goes right they COULD stay in the race." I will pass on this trying to compete next year. I have watched that fail for 4 years.
