  1. This is Doug Melvin's job...he doesn't miss calls and even if he does I bet it takes moments to call back. This is what these guys do. If you can write an email or send a text you could have called.
  2. 100 balls average for each game from reliable sources I have seen. Each team has a mind boggling amount of balls at once. Look up the Rockies humidor and the whole walk in fridge looking thing is loaded. As mentioned not all are game ready. As far as what is done afterwards with these balls I'd really question them being used in MLB BP. Most BP balls I have seen are not rubbed...these non rubbed balls are likely error balls from the factory the teams get for a reduced price.
  3. Well we are talking about a likely utility player(Sardinas) and a MAYBE average SS(Segura) so it isn't like we will get an incredible return anyway. If we were talking Gomez/Lucroy I'd see the concern, but for these guys a weak system isn't a big deal. It isn't like they don't have the pieces to acquire one of them.
  4. No I don't think either Segura or Sardinas will bring much back. Segura has proven he isn't that good and Sardinas while never given the chance doesn't seem like he will be anything himself.
  5. I am sure they are still interested in making a trade. Sardinas and Segura are both young/controllable.
  6. Then you are horribly negative. Brewers wouldn't trade Arcia last year for Price, why would they now? Why would they trade for a rental period? I must be just missing your sarcasm. I'm not saying I would like it. I just said I would be surprised because that's the kind of stuff that they do. I must have missed it but when was that a rumor last year? Well they were interested in Price and I know specifically there was rumblings they weren't trading Arcia for anyone. I don't think they even wanted to trade Tyrone Taylor in any deal. It was never a rumor specifically linking the two together. I just don't think I can agree they make that type of move. At what point did the Brewers trade an elite prospect for a rental while 19.5 games back in the division? They did trade some elite talent for CC Sabathia, but let's be honest that is not very comparable to the situation they are in now.
  7. "We're going for it" Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they traded Arcia and another pitcher for Price. Then you are horribly negative. Brewers wouldn't trade Arcia last year for Price, why would they now? Why would they trade for a rental period? I must be just missing your sarcasm.
  8. Jean Segura is by far the worst first pitch fastball hitter I have ever seen. You could throw him a beach ball and he still wouldn't put it in play. No wonder he can't walk...guaranteed to start the count 0-1.
  9. Like I said even if the value was right adding Parra and losing D'Arnaud is a wash in my mind. No improvement.
  10. Maybe not, he is a huge injury risk. No he is way too much. Injuries or not he is way too much. He was average in his first taste of the bigs and was doing VERY well to start off the year. High ceiling and controllable for many years at a premium position. Maybe you could get him for Gomez...but even then I wouldn't trade him if I was the Mets.
  11. From the few sources I saw they said the Mets were pushing for a Parra trade...not necessarily close to one. That being said I highly doubt the Mets would trade him...or even consider it. They are a struggling offense with horrible production from their catcher. Why would they trade someone a week away from returning? Any value Parra adds is taken away by trading D'arnaud. I see no improvement and maybe even negative improvement.
  12. The Brewers have no real face of the franchise. They have a bunch of good players, but none of them have a huge impact. Ryan Braun was such a player pre PED circus. He was a marketing giant back then and every fan basically had a Braun jersey. To me there are probably 10 players or so that have such a special label in baseball. A lot of teams have no special player like that and we are one of them. A kwik trip commercial is honestly the extent of Lucroy's special marketing...no major brand is clammoring for a Brewers player to market them. People are not going to lose their minds if we trade Lucroy. Actually most will likely say, "Good we suck anyway." I just don't see the outcry some fear. This is probably a good time to trade him because most fans won't care because we suck anyway. Low interest in the team means low interest in anything they do. EDIT: The fact we are debating who the face of the franchise is tends to be a clear sign that we don't have one.
  13. I can almost bet that Comp Pick wasn't an option. Brewers would have almost surely preferred that.
  14. You and me both
  15. Tyler Thornburg says hi....... Well Thornburg's is a little more justified. He had the injury and he has always been questionable as a starter.
  16. I guess Brewers have 4 to 5 more talks on going and were close to a minor trade the other day(Cotts? Broxton?) before it fell through. Pro scouts also on way to Milwaukee to go over possible deals, so I bet other talks are getting more serious at this point. Should be an interesting week ahead.
  17. He may get a shot once Lind is traded, but 3B is never happening again.
  18. Yhonathan Barrios. Guy who throws 100mph I think. 23 year old reliever in AAA. Brewers also sent some money. EDIT: Found it he throws high 90s topping out at 97
  19. Agreed that would be my preference.
  20. I'm guessing that the Brewers are gonna get more out of Pittsburgh than they would from other teams considering that it's an in-division trade. Or taking the first offer before he pulls a hammy. I don't think the whole intra division thing means anything here. He is retiring after the season so not like there is fear he will hurt us in the future.
  21. If true I am going to miss him. True Professional...
  22. You would trade for Ramirez instead of Frazier because most importantly Frazier is not going to be available. If we pretend he was the reason to go after Ramirez is due to the fact he will cost little in the prospect department while Frazier will require a dump truck load.
  23. There is a private message option if you feel inclined to comment. I don't know if it works on this site...but I am to assume it does. I really don't see the point in making a comment in a thread. All you are doing is making a mess of a legitimate thread. That being said I am not trying to make enemies...if you have a problem feel free to message me about it. I will try to please as many as I can if I see their point. It also doesn't help your argument when you are being rude yourself though. Assuming things about my life and such. I also have to agree with the Brew4U. I don't think anyone on here is perfect when it comes to commenting. Many people can get defensive on a topic or come off rude. Most of the time I go over my posts and will edit if it seems a bit rude/uneeded after I post. Sometimes I feel a bit rushed and you get like my original comment in this thread.
