  1. Well yeah...I think it is pretty much a for sure thing those guys get traded(unless no one wants them). Maybe a couple non long term guys go too. K-Rod is a possibility and Will Smith is a bit under talked about. I could see an attractive offer for Smith.
  2. Love all the criticism of Gomez, but Parra is just about as stupid when it comes to decision making. Always tries to throw guys out. If there is a chance a guy breaks his leg half way to home he is throwing it all the way.
  3. You must not know much about the trade deadline. Just so you know almost no trades happen before July...actually there are very little till about July 30th! Even more so major trades are very uncommon early. Almost unheard of a team makes a blockbuster trade early. Now I have no idea what the Brewers will get...it may be dissapointing like you think. BUT just because they haven't made a trade means nothing. No one wants to trade right now.
  4. Guy is a utility player at best...but not like we have anything better to watch so I don't mind. At least with him expectations are low so anything is a plus.
  5. If any team wants to give up some decent prospects for Segura he should be on the next plane out. Even after going back to his 2013 approach he still isn't doing well at the plate. Add that to overrated defense he just isn't that good. Not a guy we should be holding on to like he is some valuable piece to the next contending team.
  6. I don't think this is a typical Brewers team. The last couple of years we have had a positive outlook where with the right moves some magic could happen. However this is beyound that point. Before the season I could see a way to compete in 2016, but we are garbage. I don't think the Brewers plan on trying to compete next year at all. It sounds like they fully plan to trade Gomez so that should tell you all you need to know about next year's plan. Maybe they hold on to Segura/Lucroy another year and see what happens in 2016. See if enough looks good enough to compete in 2017. If not I'd expect them to hit the block. 2016 is quite the afterthought if you ask me.
  7. Sure the pitch count was low, but he was surrendering a lot of warning track bombs. Which then turned into over the fence bombs.
  8. C Mon Gennett you are an MLB second baseman. You need to be able to make plays like that without throwing the ball away like a little girl.
  9. Poor guy is hitting all the corners...too bad the Brewers are dispensing it to every open piece of grass available.
  10. Braun is still the face of the franchise. I'm not sure signing Lucroy to a small 3 year deal to be a fan favorite is even sane. Fan favorites come and go...fans will get over it. Lucroy is no where near being the mega fan favorite Braun is/was. Braun was one of the Top 5 popular guys in MLB. And for what it's worth I think Carlos Gomez is a bigger fan favorite than Lucroy. Seems Gomez has a bigger following. Either way I can't say Lucroy is head over shoulders better.
  11. I can think of some better ways to waste money then extend a valuable trade asset who will be 32 in a new deal. While he is a borderline good 1B now he will most certainly not be when he starts to get up in the 32+ year old range...possible, but not something I gamble $80mil+ on. Gomez/Lucroy are perfect players you never consider extending. Happy you had them on the cheap and trade them away. Now Lucroy may not go for over a year, but I am quite confident he will be traded eventually.
  12. Jonathan Lucroy is never going to move to 1st by choice. He would have to be pushed there by just sucking on defense or injuries dominating him. No way the Brewers extend him just to move him to first. His bat would be of no use there.
  13. Wow that was a thing of beauty. Jimmy Nelson was dealing tonight. A lot of potential in that man.
  14. But really you can spin Attanasio's comments to sound like whatever you so feel. I tend to not take them so seriously because comments by the owner tend to appeal toward casual fans. Casual fans want to hear about great fan experience and not trading good players.
  15. Why? Seemed pretty non eventful. Nothing ground breaking either way. Not knowing why our old players aren't good anymore. Blaming injuries. We still have a lot of good players (i.e. we can go at it again next year). Creating an "experience" for fans to enjoy themselves (winning as many games as possible). Mentioning not trading K-Rod to Brian and Bill during the commercial because he "teaches the young guys in the bullpen so much." The K-Rod talk was much about saying that they aren't just going to dump players to dump them. Just typical talk up your own players type stuff. Creating an experience is a real thing. They can't just trade Gomez, Segura, Braun, Lucroy, and anyone else decent. You have to put something on the field. Main reason I don't think they wouldn't consider trading Lucroy(since Gomez is a sure goner). Even in a losing season you have to look like you are trying or fans are going to jump ship. The other stuff I really think you just made to seem a lot worse than said. He noted about injuries, I don't recall anything about wondering how guys aren't producing, and you are just assuming he wants to go at it next year. He seemed quite aware the team sucks and it isn't just a fluke. If anything I think he was hinting at more of a short term rebuild. Which doesn't seem that great on the surface, but hard to predict how it will work.

  17. Wow...I wish I could say I am shocked we failed to score a guy from third with zero outs.
  18. This isn't starting well! Last time we faced him we didn't get to watch an at bat by the great Bartolo.
  19. Ed Sedar what are you doing? Tell Parra when to go and look for your next man. Instead you stare at Parra's butt as he runs home. Sedar should have been sending Perez back. Could have gotten back to second if his base coach was paying attention. Not shocking the baserunning is so bad when one of our coaches is that dumb. Perez may get all the blame, but his coach wasn't there for him.
  20. I know people complain that we are trading for all these possible utility players(Sardinas, Perez, Dominguez), but wow would it be nice to have some good bench bats in the future. Something I swear we always lack.
  21. Sadly he was trying to catch that from what it looked like
