  1. Both basically have identicle stats from before except each is giving up a lot less hits. Maybe that is luck...Maybe a change of scenary...Maybe the catcher...Maybe the pitching coach? Interesting none the less. I'd look into their advanced stats if it wasn't late...Maybe that would show a reasoning?
  2. Carlos Gomez just not the magical player he was the past two years. Which is just perfect now that we are looking to trade him.
  3. It is probably not even remotely close to what you said because it wasn't even directed at you. And yes the international market is a good investment. But spending $2mil because you can on a guy your scouts aren't high on isn't a smart move. If they love the guy sure it makes sense...that is if he doesn't prefer another team. I'm sure a lot of these guys have 10 teams interested in them, but just prefer one team over the rest. The Brewers have shown a lot of interest I'm the international market in recent years. I am sure they have a plan. I know they had interest in a couple of the top prospects coming in, but I guess that just didn't work out. Sadly they went to teams that decided to spend wildly this year.
  4. I am pretty confident he will eventually turn it around. He has a long track record and most of his struggles have been due to control. I just don't know when he will figure it out. Might be a whole year of struggles coming though.
  5. I know a lot of fans want to see the Brewers plunge into the international market every year, but if your scouts aren't rating these guys highly then you don't waste the money. $2mil+ is a lot of money for a 16 year old. You also have to consider a lot of these guys are looking for more than money. Sometimes they prefer big markets and teams on the coast. It's a complex process and a huge gamble. You don't just spend money because you can. You have to be smart.
  6. Baseball fans are the biggest wimps in sports. Running for cover because of rain.
  7. Well the Phillies are a safe bet for the first pick in the draft...scary bad.
  8. If they really think Lara can play SS I think he is a the obvious choice. However I heard Lara wasn't much of a long term SS. So if that is true I would probably move him to 3B. Both are questionable there long term, but I heard Gatewood would be more likely to stick at SS.
  9. Wonder if Doug Melvin didn't want to start a rebuild when he plans to leave before the next contender. No one wants to do half the job and then leave...would create too many problems if the next guy didn't like what he did.
  10. Chris Carter has at least a 100 OPS+ all of the last 3 seasons....far far from a bum. Strikeout galore, but still puts up some numbers. That being said I don't see adding him with a growing salary. Wouldn't make a lot of sense on a rebuilding team.
  11. Was right there on the edge. Looked bad...but it was right there. Looked low to me. Maybe I didn't see it.
  12. Was right there on the edge. Looked bad...but it was right there.
  13. Well in a perfect world Jungmann stays up...but the world isn't perfect. I'm not even sure how badly they need him with all the off days. More than possible Lohse/Garza get shipped out before Peralta is back.
  14. Was just thinking to myself how Segura hasn't been too bad out there lately. Then he makes a garbage throw for no apparent reason. Oh well...
  15. Don't see Garza going anywhere even if he gets any interest. No team will trade for the whole contract and the Brewers aren't the kind of team to throw in money.
  16. I'm guessing it is pretty unlikely the Dodgers bench Rollins. Maybe they should...but a long shot they do it.
  17. From everything I have heard is that Flores is not a SS and would be better off at 2B.
  18. I'd trade Segura before wasting his defensive gifts as a shortstop by playing him at thirdbase. Defensive Gifts? He isn't even that good of a SS. I'd peg him some what above average, but nothing to write home about.
  19. That right center wall might fall down after tonight.
  20. I still can't believe that Stanton put one above my head last year at Target Field...and I was near the top of LF. Incredible. Didn't he hit one into the CF section too? Ridiculous
  21. Starting to think umpires don't like calling the "blocking the plate" rule. Lucroy once again gets lucky in that regard. He has blocked the plate with his foot quite a few times and umpires let it slide.
  22. Should be a freshing change and hopefully limit the amount of pitches taken. I love when Fielder won, but man for anyone else it had to be boring. Fielder took so many pitches. Probably with still be boring just shorter...and Berman...he still does it.
  23. Well yeah...I think it is pretty much a for sure thing those guys get traded(unless no one wants them). Maybe a couple non long term guys go too. K-Rod is a possibility and Will Smith is a bit under talked about. I could see an attractive offer for Smith.
