  1. Good job with that idiotic challenge. Who is in charge of that? Selby still?
  2. http://m.brewers.mlb.com/news/article/130397008/aramis-ramirez-not-focused-on-trade-talks "I haven't really thought about it. If I get traded, so be it. I can't control that. I don't have a no-trade clause." Yah he doesn't come right out and say it, but he makes it sound like he really would prefer to stay put. Using phrases like: So be it, It is what it is, I can't control that
  3. Has Ramirez said publicly he doesn't want to be traded? I don't recall ever hearing that. He came back to play for the Brewers. He didn't have interest in playing for another team last off-season. It was to my understanding he was going to retire if the Brewers didn't want him back. He also didn't seem too excited when asked about the idea a week or so ago. He just isn't a big fan of being traded. He blocked a trade while apart of the Cubs when they were total garbage. It doesn't take him to publicly say it to know he would prefer not to be traded.
  4. The people who did it will go to jail, a fine is likely, and maybe draft pick loss if they were looking at very important things. As far as the GM getting fired/suspended I highly doubt it.
  5. Aramis Ramirez doesn't want to be traded so I doubt he cares about winning a world series.
  6. This^ Not only is it rare to get two premium prospects I'd prefer to only get one then a flurry of guys. More value in my mind.
  7. Never going to happen. It was a wishful thought when he got on that hot streak, but now that reality is back there is no team getting near him. Even if we ate enough money teams would still have a laundry list of issues with him.
  8. For only Gomez? Not a chance...maybe if we trade them Lucroy instead.
  9. He has had two really bad starts that inflated his ERA(one good start between them). Sending him down would be a pretty bad idea and quite the overreaction. I see no point in sending him down.
  10. Even if he turns it around the second half I think they are safe from him being picked in the Rule 5 this winter. So I'd say they are safe now until at least next winter.
  11. Hate to disagree with everyone, but I think Toronto would never do that deal and somewhat of an overpay. That is two very high ceiling players and I just don't see a team giving up that kind of package. I wouldn't expect much more than Norris honestly. As mentioned I doubt K-Rod has much value so any deal is mostly just for Gomez. For 1.5 years of Gomez I'd expect Norris plus one other decent prospect(maybe one iffy prospect too) and another decent prospect for K-Rod. Maybe Norris/May/Smith just putting something out there quick. If you want an elite prospect MLB or close to it ready don't expect much else.
  12. I think the fact he required a 40 man spot, has been pretty horrible this year, and only being at High-A were enough to make any team not have interest.
  13. The funniest thing I am taking away from this is fans plead for Jason Rogers to get a chance at 27, but Matt who hit the MLB at 21 and has had some success AND still 24 is apparently washed up garbage. Amazing
  14. Wang was a lost cause once he started to struggle. We were using a 40 man spot on a guy in High A. He needed to excell or he was going to be DFAed. I'd be surprised if Wang gets picked up. His salary is x12 what a normal High A player makes. Not to mention next year he will still make a good x7 more than a normal guy will make because you can only pay cut a player so much every year. I'd be really surprised if someone invests that much in a guy not producing. That plus a 40 man roster spot? A team would have to drop someone somewhat valuable to do so.
  15. Fans have already stopped supporting this team. Last I heard they are on pace for 2.6mil attendance. That should continue to drop in August and September...so maybe 2.3 or 2.4 come out to the park...? Sounds like people have already bailed.
  16. I can see some worry with Attanasio...but zero hope and no faith...yikes that seems a bit extreme with no chance to sell yet(this year). Rememeber this is really the first flop with little future outlook. This isn't a typical year since Attanasio took over. Who knows how he reacts. Regarding Lucroy and Segura not being available here is some trade talk 101: You do not try and shop high value players you don't need to sell yet. It is not surprising at all they have made the comments they have. It is just usual business practice for a team.
  17. We are the second worst team in baseball and most likely in line for a top 5 pick next year. How much optimism do you expect to see? I don't expect to see much optimism, but the complaining on how we aren't going to do this or that because Melvin is dumb or because we never do anything etc. etc. etc. seems endless. I mean dang does anyone just want to wait and see? Melvin has hinted at some type of rebuild which leads me to believe things will be different(we have already seen that in the Perez pickup). I think there is optimism so far in what the front office plans to do. This thread is starting to look like everyone last deadline. No faith and everyone was sure Melvin would dump half the farm for Price etc. Well look at that...it didn't happen. So maybe Melvin will shock all the zero hope guys again?
  18. I can't believe the rioting over dropping a so-so prospect(might not lose him! We don't even know!) for a guy that out up 2 WAR just two years ago. He is very good with the glove and there is still potential in his bat. These are the types of moves we should be making as we rebuild for the next couple of years at the least! Hernan Perez was the same type of move. Might as well have a young guy instead of an old Herrera. Maybe you find something there...it is a no lose situation. Sure it might suck to lose Wang, but he would need a 40man spot from any team and his salary is hefty(for a struggling guy in A ball). I wouldn't be surprised to see him pass through waivers. Not sure how you riot over the loss of a guy yet to be picked up by someone else.
  19. Some of the worst professional journalism I've seen in a while. That trade makes ZERO sense. And it didn't come from some random blog...it came from the cities main newspaper. Easily the worst professional journalism I have ever seen.
  20. I was mad that we were already down 2-0...but then I saw how Philly was doing...
  21. Impressive 12 year old level article there(maybe a bit too much credit?). Totally ignores looking from the Brewers point of view.
  22. What a sad pessimistic bunch you people are.
  23. Wish I was worried Garza was building something remotely close to trade value. Good thing we squashed that hope quickly.
  24. Wang has a $300,000 salary for what it is worth. I'm sure it won't matter if a team considers him a legit prospect, but it might shy teams away that would take him on a total flyer.
  25. I wouldn't bet a penny on that 2017. That line up is pretty lack luster and the rotation wouldn't be anything special unless Jimmy Nelson turns into a legit #2. That would be a borderline contender is most went right...much goes wrong and it would be sub .500 really fast. That makes me think even more that he should be traded.
