  1. Should have gone to the Kansas State coach. Both had great years though Smart certainly benefits that the award is voted on prior to the tourney (which I don’t have a problem with).
  2. I mean I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure Topps is doing this to then sell them…not give them to the player.
  3. I see Burnes is trying to give up an earned run for every time he whined this off-season.
  4. I could have done a formal appraisal for $500, but I didn’t think it was going to be any more advantageous over a $100 BPO. At the end of the day they estimated the value at a 13% increase the last two years. Considering Wisconsin has seen 28% home value increases the last two years and I did about $10k in improvements their estimate seems pretty far off. I didn’t receive an escrow increase letter this year. Though that is only because last year they increased it assuming property taxes were going to go up a bit and they went up like $50.
  5. I’d love to know how common it actually is for someone to just pack up their house and decide to just quit on their mortgage, thus making PMI insurance actually get triggered. Don’t they do a valuation if you try to use equity in your house for a loan? I should apply for one, I bet the valuation would magically be $20k more for that. Is what it is I guess. My credit was so high my PMI is only like $70 a month. I don’t really want to yank out a bunch of money from my emergency fund to buy out the necessary equity to be at 80%, but I figure if some emergency happens to need that money I could trot down to the bank, get a personal loan for 13% interest, and still save thousands compared to the $5k or so left in PMI payments I would have been making. Also, my favorite part of this entire thing, the realtor sent out to do the BPO hasn’t sold a house in over a decade. Sure sounds like a guy with a good grasp on local market conditions. Lmao
  6. So I decided to try and rid myself of paying PMI. In reality my house has gone up in value that it is easily valuable enough to have 80% or less for LTV. I’d say something like 70%. So I went ahead and paid the $100 for a BPO (a realtor basically does a competitive market analysis). Guy comes, basically said it should easily be what it needs to be, but he would shoot for decently higher and see what the mortgage company does. Which tells me the mortgage company doesn’t just accept what the realtor sends them. So I get called today and no joke the lady tells me that after their review/analysis the LTV was 81%. Yes, I can pay down the like $5k difference, but come on. That is ridiculous and has to be done intentionally.
  7. This is one of the oddest conspiracy theories I have seen on this forum. I’m not sure the thought process even makes sense despite you really going out on a limb. Like most conspiracies you can make anything up, but the reality is, there is a way better more logical explanation to almost every point. For instance, Counsell…it seems very clear he probably doesn’t want to manage a rebuild if it looks like that. Streams…same way. I don’t think he wants to do a rebuild. The stadium stuff…this was coming up anyway. This didn’t just magically pop up out of thin air because Attanasio is looking to sell the team secretly. Payroll, honestly, has no bearing on selling a team and the value he gets out of it. We all know the main purpose of owning a team is for long term value increases and to be ‘cool’.
  8. I don’t care if you are playing the greatest defense in the history of basketball. Having 54 points with 9 minutes to go and then losing 56-54 is really sad and pathetic. There is just really no reason to be doing that against anyone.
  9. This and also what Seabass said. The ad money available in LA is a taaaaad different. Also David Gruber has like 50% of the ad spots because no one else even wants to advertise during Brewers games. Endless companies to advertise in LA. We have Gruber and Pizza Ranch.
  10. I have had food in Kansas City and happily ate a 4 course meal. AmFam…I buy a pretzel…maybe. If Kansas City can have good food, I am pretty sure we can manage it. If the Chicago teams can figure out how to grill a fresh brat…maybe we could figure it out in Wisconsin. You know what doesn’t make people spend more money? Spending $10mil to renovate what the concession stands look like, but not make the food any better. Something tells me that investment was not worth it.
  11. I saw that cheese and I was like, “Wow, is that the best they could do for a staged photo? A Philly cheesesteak sounds good till you consider the microwave reheated meat, cold nacho cheese sauce, and lackluster bun. At least that is what I expect as it seems to be apart of the main concession stands. The only good coming out of all this is the 414 menu, aka kids menu.
  12. “Price reductions are up to 15%.” Considering everything on that list is less than $8 outside of maybe a premium cocktail…you are talking like a 50 cent to one dollar price reduction. I mean I suppose if you have a family of 5…maybe you are spending $80 instead of $100?
  13. Brewers sent out Season Seat Holder Rewards and somehow my 5th year as a 20-gamer I have gotten AmFam batting practice. I haven’t ever heard of anyone actually getting it and everyone I know has always assumed corporate accounts that started in the 70s always perpetually get it since rewards get based off tenure.
  14. Yes, because Peralta is such a shining example of being healthy and pitching… Freddy Peralta can’t even manage 100 innings pitched. How high you going to rank a guy who can’t be on the field half the year?
  15. It was a really bad combination of regular season resumes overpowering the fact Houston had the one guy missing due to injury and Kansas had their head coach missing. Add in Purdue not being even remotely that good and 3/4 of the top seeds really weren’t primed for the tourney at that point. Had Houston been healthy or Kansas had their coach, the Final four could look a lot less weird. Maybe there weren’t any bonafide elite teams to jog to a Final Four birth, but I think it more was just how the bracket decided to just fall in a goofy way. Those one seeds were most certainly one seeds on paper and even in past years in many cases. Certainly no where near #4 seeds+.
  16. I picked 5/8 Elite 8 teams correctly. Something only .34% of bracket had accomplished. I correctly picked…zero Final Four teams correctly. Smh Next year everyone will exclaim parity is here and have wacky brackets and reality of 1/2 seed dominance towards the end will return.
  17. Surprised that wasn’t apart of Izzo’s whinefest after losing the other day.
  18. All the #1 seeds are dead and Texas is the last hope for the #2 seeds. The championship game is assured to have San Diego St, FAU, Kansas State, or (Creighton/Princeton).
  19. Keaton Hiura agreed to his arbitration contract outside of an arbitration hearing. By CBA 2022-2026 standards, his contract his termination pay is 100% regardless of making the roster.
  20. Crazy how one year the Final Four is blue bloods and this year the Sweet 16 featured only 4 teams with a championship. Two lost yesterday and UConn was the only one to win. I can’t figure out who the fourth team is. A lot of teams with zero Final Fours too. I’d like to see Gonzaga/Houston win. Would be nice for one of these elite teams to finally seal the deal.
  21. Except you’re missing the point that exponentially more NFL fans are inconvenienced and care about missing those games whether it is local or not / whether it is their team or not. Saying the NFL isn’t making it harder for fans to watch is just not true because NFL fans exist outside of the two local markets facing off. Amazon still gets millions upon millions tuning in regardless. The NFL can just let local markets access it because they still have the entire nation wanting to watch it…thus they still get the best of both worlds. The MLB cannot do this because literally no one cares about a Royals/Brewers game in May other than Royals/Brewers fans. If you give local markets access for free there will be zero viewership on AppleTV+. Saying the MLB can just do what the NFL does is really missing the point of this TV deal and really missing the basic economics of it.
  22. I didn’t drop any argument, thanks for your concern though. The two aren’t even remotely comparable though. NFL is televising that one game on prime time. NFL fans happily gobble up and watch random games because it is the only one on and watching teams you aren’t a fan of is simply more popular in that sport. This is putting two games on Apple TV+ when another dozen games are also going on as is. If you made it freely televised for in-market fans, you would attract no one actually on the paid platform. Because at the end of the day, MLB fans watch their team and that is it. People rarely watch random games and those that do, certainly aren’t going to pay to do so.
  23. Been on a steady decline even before COVID…then it really tanked. Of course it’s never a huge sell when it isn’t true opening day and they already played on the road. It was always kinda dumb to pay ridiculous prices to go to a crummy April game in the middle of the day for postseason prices. For the life of me, I will never get why they don’t make these games at an attractive time
  24. Playing in the NIT and hanging a banner after beating a bunch of mid-majors? That is pretty cringe. Celebrating beating the likes of Bradley/Liberty/North Texas…you know, a bunch of filler teams you typically play in December for free wins. You are basically celebrating being the #69th team in the nation. It is a fun little scrimmage of games after the season, but this has even less meaning than one of those early year 3-game tourneys every year.
