  1. Where did you find this? The only clause in his contract I have ever seen is that he can't be sent to the minors after 2014.
  2. There is absolutely no way Scooter Gennett is hitting lead off against lefties. I don't even think this needs explanation. There is also absolutely no way Braun is leading off either. That would be quite a waste of power. The only reason they do it with Gomez is because of his extreme speed which Braun really doesn't have. I could see Jean Segura at some point this season if he hits like he did post All Star break. Believe it or not he did better post tragedy despite what people make it out to be. If he hits .270 with an OBP close to .330 I would hit him lead off. Though his .180 average vs. lefties last year is pretty brutal Lastely think people are reading too much into Ramirez being in the 4 hole to start the season. I think Roenicke said that just to give him a vote of confidence. I would not be shocked if he was hitting 5th or 6th after 10 games.
  3. Well first of all it depends on why they move. If they want a new stadium and Milwaukee is not giving it to them I might continue to follow the Brewers. On the flip side if the owners just want out then I would probably find a new team. The Cubs would be a possible transfer of fandom or since this would be so far in the future maybe the D'Backs as I hope to live there someday. However I don't ever see them moving after the surge in popularity the last 15 years. If the Bucks can somehow stay here then I'd hope the Brewers could too...no one even cares about the Bucks outside of the Milwaukee area.
  4. Rumor has it they will put him in AAA.
  5. It is pretty easy to not feel that way...just hard for people like you. Someone didn't teach you right.
  6. Kansas actually plays a real non conference schedule including Kentucky on the road. I could see an argument for Norte Dame as they had some nice wins...but Kansas was playing Top 25 teams on a daily basis which probably helped them. They never really had a break from tough opponents. Admittedly even as a Kansas fan they are overrated. The team is so inconsistent they will be lucky to scrape to the Sweet 16.
  7. Tuition and the drivers of North East Illinois.
  8. Player T-Shirts. I will never buy a Jersey.
  9. I don't think I could find a more worthless player to put on the bench. Schafer would provide 0 value at best...if he would even ever play. Gets even more confusing when you talk about not wanting another all defensive player outside of Parra. Yet you want Schafer who also plays outfield? If someone wants to claim a guy who has a career 66 OPS+ feel free. His defense has no value here to waste an OD roster spot on.
  10. I can't believe this conversation and especially about Gomez is still going on...
  11. Henderson is pretty much destined for the DL. The lack of velocity will make that an easy move. Jimmy Nelson will likely go to AAA till the 20th of April when they need him. So there will be one extra guy til then.
  12. Seed placement is all about making good TV ratings and getting certain teams farther. These are made to get upsets or push certain teams farther. WSU being a #7 seed and having Kansas in the round of 32...hello TV ratings. Though I can't blame NCAA...quite the clever plan.
  13. I always remember going to the game where Zack Greinke started his 3rd game in a row for the Brewers back in 2012. First game he was ejected quite quickly for spiking the ball, started the next day's game, and finally because of the all star break he started the first game back. He was something like the first to do it since 1917. I am guessing he will be the last too.
  14. I followed the link and there wasn't even a Pirates team
  15. One thing is for certain...neither situation or player is even remotely comparable. This is spring training and Weeks was asked in the middle of the season just because he was on a hot streak. Secondly Parra is what 27...Weeks was like 32. Parra has had a healthy career while Weeks had just started to get better from a pretty bad leg injury. Lastly Parra is athletic and good at his main position while Weeks can't even field at his best position. Hate on Weeks for whatever reason...but comparing him to Parra is pretty inaccurate. Personally I wasen't too thrilled Weeks declined. Let's be honest though, he finally started hitting well for the first time in a couple years. I think it would have been best for him to focus on that.
  16. Still really lost on why you focus on Gomez...he is not the problem. Focus on someone who actually lacks a baseball IQ like Segura. Segura is horrid on the bases and horrid mentally on defense.
  17. MLB.COM TOP 30 BREWERS PROSPECTS http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2015?list=mil
  18. Brewers system is quite underrated. Orlando Arcia with a nice season could rise into the 50 range, Tyrone Taylor will be on every list if he has a good season, and Harrison will definitely be jumping on some lists if he has a good season. I think they will jump up the rankings next year with the inevitable trades mid-season/offseason, current players improving, and the upcoming draft. Then again if we are contending we may just go backwards.
  19. These kids get $25 a day to spend on food. I mean I find that to be a decent chunk of change to spend on food. it isn't so simple as to raise their salary. If you want to raise everyone's salary by $25,000 you are looking at a $6mil expense.
  20. From what I have heard when the Brewers drafted him most thought they got him for experience(was college senior) to mentor their young pitchers at rookie level(Medeiros). Though now I guess he is going to A ball and Medeiros isn't so who knows what the Brewers view him as. I am guessing he was one of the top senior players on their board and took him since they had to save the slot money for Harrison.
  21. Maybe it is just me, but I think you guys are reading too much into it. Not surprising Roenicke wants everyone on the team to play everywhere. That is just his managing style. It is spring training people and from the sounds of it he is an emergency option. Something we need if we are going to have Lucroy playing at first.
  22. Speaking of heartwarming stories: "I was on the field Monday to watch Lucroy. Knowing he was coming back from injury, I was interested to see how he looked in batting practice. Watching the ball jump off his bat as he drove line drive after line drive into the right-center field gap, I thought I had my story. Then he ended his first round of hitting with a quick practice bunt, walked out of the batting cage towards the first-base dugout, and beckoned to someone in the dugout to join him on the field. I turned to see a shy little girl with a long blonde braid hanging down from beneath a Brewers hat. Lucroy encouraged her again, and as she came out to join him."- http://www.baseballessential.com/news/2015/03/10/jonathan-lucroy-and-carlos-gomez-made-a-little-girls-day/
  23. Kid doesn't even need the power to be a star. He has All Star potential with his defense potential and pure hitting ability. Best prospect the Brewers have had in years by far. If he shows he can hit he will shoot up prospect rankings really fast. Remember he is just out of high school. He already has some very mature skills and just needs to cut down on the strikeouts. Just needs to refine his game like most kids fresh out of high school.
  24. And he was just as terrible as always. Rickie Weeks cut his hair.. and hit a ball over the batter's eye. Still has a ton of power with that quick bat speed.
