  1. They could always try and add a shortseason A ball team if that became a real issue
  2. MLB should not be in the business of restricting fans from attending games other than in criminal cases.
  3. Yeah but you can do more harm than good just trotting him out there every day. He's struck out 30 times in 63 PA's. Regardless of the rebuild plans, the Brewers shouldn't be giving AB's to young guys struggling this badly.
  4. I'm assuming the line drive hit Nelson in the glove, he dropped it and then threw home for the force out. Maldonado then tried to get the double play but made the throwing error allowing Duffy to score. Am I close? Line drive off Nelson's stomach, he picks it up, throws to Maldonado for the force at home, Maldonado throws to first, the ball hits the runner and trickles away allowing the run to score.
  5. 4.5 games back of the first WC and only 4 games back of the 2nd WC.
  6. Sure they're a model franchise in terms of player development and winning but they're also model dicks with their holier than thou Cardinal Way crap. They can also apparently get away with committing federal crimes, creating a culture of alcohol related incidences, and have players avoid the domestic violence policy just because. Hey I'm just here for the wins. If the Brewers did all of that but competed for WS every year that's all I'd ever want.
  7. They're the model organization, my hate for the Cardinals is anger that the Brewers have had no where near the level of success the Cardinals have had.
  8. Batting practice at Miller Park. Everything straight as a string and out over the plate.
  9. 4.5 games back of the WC. With a 3 game series coming up against one of the teams tied for the 2nd WC. The season isn't lost yet!
  10. That will happen when you have a number of very lean draft classes in a row (2010,2011,2012 etc.)
  11. Not a bad start for Anderson, he's faced the minimum through 4
  12. and not just that, but he took two meatballs down the middle to fall behind 0-2 and then swung at one shoulder high to strikeout. Counsel should ease him back into the lineup and bat him lower.
  13. That's about as awful of a first ab you will ever see. Santana should not be leading off
  14. That might be the dumbest baserunning mistake I've ever seen this team make and we've seen an absolute ton of them over the years in Milwaukee.
  15. Probably. I had them pegged at 62-100 prior to the season, but I also assumed our rotation would be decent and Luc would be gone. By playing guys that aren't going to be meaningful parts of the future other than Nelson, Santana, and maybe Jeffries, the MLB team is tanking, not rebuilding. The plan is working. Tanking is synonymous with rebuilding. We're not in the building part of the plan yet, this is ground level. We still are trading pieces away and looking to rack up a few high draft picks. This year and the next couple of years will feature a lot of placeholders just filling a major league roster spot for a little while simply because you have to put someone in the big leagues and it wouldn't be a good idea to rush minor leaguers up to the big leagues when they're not ready.
  16. Think back to 2002, how long did it take to get to the post season, 6 years. What was the core of that team? High draft picks that we got for multiple really bad seasons
  17. 2022? That's almost two developmental cycles built in. All those guys you listed in the rotation will be hitting 30! At the tail end of prime pitching years a bit. Our current cycle will either be a few years into success or we'll be on second rebuild by then. I think 2018 will be first year of actual competitiveness. Yup, our next time competing for a WS may actually be after our upcoming high draft picks in the next few years are the core of this team. The full rebuild that we're going through can take 5 to 7 years unless things go really well over the next couple of years and enough of our prospects are able to develop into quality major leaguers.
  18. Yeah outside of the positive post thread I don't think any of the 2017 talk is feasible. The next time this team competes for a title will be 2019 minimum, probably more like 2021 or 2022 once we've hopefully got a solid core composed of a couple of our top draft picks in the next couple seasons. Now that said, if everything goes right, 2018 could be a decent year, the team could compete for a while and maybe finish around .500. Maybe a rotation of Nelson, Lopez, Hader, Houser, Wang, but it's tough to predict given who we could get for Braun and Lucroy and possible free agent signings. Let's not kid ourselves, a full organizational rebuild is longer than a one or two year process.
