    A couple summers ago playing softball I had a grounder hop up on me and catch the nail of the middle finger of my throwing hand. Bent it about half way back. Hurt like a son of a gun and it was difficult throwing for a bit, but it wasn't long before I played again. I don't know if this is the same thing, but that was painful and bloody.

    Big deal. Who wouldn't rather be on the cover by himself. Not like he is saying Upton and Tulo aren't worthy. I'm sure he'd like to be on the cover by himself some day.

    What do you say? What are the odds Corey Hart becomes a 30/30 guy this season? I think he's going to do it. I guess it depends on his oppurtunities to run.

    I'd put my money on Weeks over Hardy. I'll set the over/under at 4.5. What do you all say now? I'll take the under. I see 4 guys getting 20+ (probably 30+) and a good group around 15-19. Bill Hall is my main "leave out." If you will.

    I agree. The highlights should be shown with their original call. I don't care to listen to Berman's calls.

    Well for me it is just a pure disinterest and dislike in Nickelback's music. I have problems with the workings of this world in several aspects, but when it comes to Nickelback I just plain dislike their music. I'm not even a music elitist as some people seem to think you are if you don't like Nickelback. I just really don't like Nickelback. Once again, the song "Photograph" pushed my already appearing dislike of the band into a whole new stratosphere. I really don't like them now.

    Again, I don't think there is a divide between 1) people who like Nickelback and 2) people who are arrogant music elitists. I'm not a music elitist at all. I can't stand Nickelback. Any effort I make to view "Photograph" through a nostalgic lens gets squashed when I listen to the annoyingly simple/crappy lyrics. It's an impossible paradox I guess.

    No, I have no problems with anything other people like. I have my own selection of songs that I would be embarrassed to share that I like. To each his own. Fine with me.

    Wow...an Ace of Base reference. This thread now has potential. I like showtunes and Pieces of Me by Ashlee Simpson (yeah, i know). Still not digging Nickelback.

    Gyp...I am by no means a music elitist. In fact, if it isn't played on the radio, there is a good chance I haven't heard it (for most music anyway). At least the lyrics you posted and made fun of could be made into something in the mind of the listener. I don't know the song or band so I'm not sporting any bias. I guess I'd rather listen to something like that (Champagne Supernova-a good example of a song I like that has lyrics that really don't make any sense on their own) than the lyrics and music put out by Nickelback. Anyway, just wanted to make it clear that my opinion is not that of a music elitist by any means. Nickelback just does not fit my tastes at all.

    I get this flu like sickness every few years it seems. It only lasts about 24 hours. I can tell when it's coming because my body will ache, my burps will reak, and then I'll get the cold sweats. Then for about 24 hours I'm in hell. Can't eat anything or swallow hardly. Usually once I spend a night waking up all sweaty every couple hours and get in at least 1 good vomit session then I'll feel better in the morning. It has been a while, maybe I'm due. Or maybe my food regulations are just too low and I've been poisoning myself accidentally every couple of years.

    rawbecht...You basically covered everything I was going to say. 1. I've always thought ALL of their songs (at least the ones that make it on the radio in WI) sound the same. 2. Who writes those lyrics? I absolutely am unable to listen to the song Photograph whenever it comes on. One line in particular makes me think of the poetry I'd try writing in 4th grade..."Kim's the first girl I kissed/I was so nervous that I nearly missed." HUH? You nearly missed the kiss? Did you hit her ear? @*@!?!? At least make something hard up like, "I couldn't lay her and then I got P!$$*d" if you are gonna reach for some weak rhyme. 3. The hard rock band poser thing doesn't bother me as much because I don't really care for real hard rock bands all that much. I will agree they seem like a bunch of pussies compared to "real" bands. Nos. 1 and 2 definitely are the main contributors of my angst towards that band. EDIT: Please don't taunt the cuss filter - b19

    What Hardy did in April/May probably will never be replicated by him again over a two month stretch. He isn't a 50 HR guy like he was on pace for.

    Alright, I'm in college yet in Stevens Point. I have voted with absentee ballots before in my hometown, but it is probably too late to do that now. I want to vote on Tuesday, but won't be living in Point next year. I'll probably be in Wausau. Will I have any problem registering here for Tuesday and re-registering somewhere else for November?

    He probably should have said, "I think we are going to take second place in the division to the Milwaukee Brewers." That isn't something that would get people talking.

    Playing fastpitch and slowpitch softball. Working and earning money. Countryfest. Brewer games. Sunlight after 5:00. Oooh can't wait.

    I've reffed baseball/softball, wrestling and basketball. I would say the hardest one to be really good at and the easiest one to be really bad at is wrestling. Basketball isn't very difficult if you have a clue. I will say that basketball players are the biggest whiners, though.

    I'm taking it easy on the swears, especially the F-bomb. It is hard when you say it so much without even thinking around the house.

    The penny is a total waste. It costs the government more to produce a penny then it's worth. Down with the penny! Bring back the 3 center.

    I agree with Madison over Milwaukee as best for >30s. Also, I second a vote for Wausau area for something. Real nice downtown area now. Woodchucks baseball too!
