  1. I wouldn't take any of these deals. Stearns is not looking for MLB talent back for Lucroy.
  2. And Khris Davis to Angels for a Taylor Ward package....
  3. Brinson is projected with 30/30 upside and a plus defender. We don't have anyone in our system near that. Brinson in LF, Philips in CF and Santana in RF would be one awesome young OF. If you could pair him with one of their top arms like Tate, Ortiz or Matuella and 2 other prospects I'd do that in a heartbeat.
  4. Angels are without a LF and missed on all the impact corner OFs and up against the luxury tax limit. What about Taylor Ward and Kyle Kubitza for Davis? Don't see much in their system, at least the top 30
  5. I'd rather give the younger guys we have a chance, don't think their flip value if any at the deadline would be worth the time that the younger guys could be getting experience
  6. AJ Reed and JD Davis for Braun and whatever cash they wanted back
  7. I am Kieran Powell.....pretty upset you guys don't think I can play defense
  8. I think back to the first game I heard him call and he clearly had never done this type of thing before. Improved since then, but just wasn't a fun guy to listen to.
  9. No chance at Gallo, but I'd still prefer Rangers with Brinson, Ortiz and Matuella. Package someone with Lucroy to get a better return. heyman saying the price of prospects going up...not a good time for that
  10. Looks like both Lucroy and Krush Davis will not be in attendance for the On Deck festivities....maybe signs of both not planning of being on the roster by then? Not sure if either have been in attendance before though. http://brewernation.mlblogs.com/2016/01/18/brewers-on-deck-attendees-announced/
  11. Smith already has some good trade value. Left handed reliever that can get both sides of the plate out in high leverage situations. If the bullpen stays as it to when the season starts, I'd almost want Smith as the 8th inning man again and try and get Jeffress as the closer to increase his value as well. He can throw heat and you mix that in with able to get saves and your value skyrockets. Now you have 2 guys that would be in good demand come the trade deadline, instead of adding another role to Smith as closer who had the value already.
  12. This article got me thinking on the topic. We are in a situation where we are not in a position to surrender any prospect types for MLB talent(although we did give up Sneed for Villar). What if the Brewers were to go about this type strategy for a trade or two. What are peoples thoughts on trading prospects for prospects? http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/ask-ba-proposing-interesting-prospect-prospect-trades/ In this article, Colorado would be dealing Ryan McMahon to the Astros, which the Astros seem to have some decent depth in the minors. What about instead to the Brewers as McMahon will not be seeing the field anytime soon with Arendado at 3B. What if we dealt from depth in the minors in a hypothetical situation. I would not want to give away anymore arms but maybe would have to, but what about an OF type like Victor Roache/Coulter and SS type like Yadiel Rivera for McMahon trade? We have over 13 players graded out at 50+ and 1 at 55 and 1 at 60, McMahon grades out at 55 according to mlb prospect rankings. Colorado doesn't have really many high prospect OF's with 2 graded over 45 and you'd think their power would be a great fit for Coors field. We have depth at MI and pitching in the minors and Colorado isn't looking for MLB talent. Thoughts?
  13. http://gazette.com/email-suggests-developments-in-texas-could-move-sky-sox-out-of-colorado-springs/article/1567705 Should be a no brainer for the Brewers front office. Colorado Springs is a terrible place to have any affiliate especially AAA where you want your guys to perform well before making the jump to the big league roster. I know they got screwed from Nashville, but San Antonio would be much nicer for development purposes. Edit: Sorry, realized this should've been posted in the Minor League
  14. Some decent depth between Maldonado, Pina and Pinto now when Lucroy gets traded, which is hopefully very soon
  15. Carter could certainly be added to a trade if hitting well at the deadline for perhaps a Braun or Davis type to sweeten a return. There are always teams looking for pop on the bench for a playoff run. Alone, not sure what he could bring back comparing a Barrios type return. Barrios turned out to be a pretty good return for Ramirez.
  16. Looks like Pinto designated per jsonline
  17. Another problem with Bourn is that Atlanta would be looking for some young player/s in return which the Brewers will not be doing. I don't want the Brewers anywhere near Atlanta as a trading partner.
  18. A lot can change in a few weeks with injuries and trades, but one of the only competitive teams out there with a need at 3B would be Cleveland with Chisenhall likely to be in the OF. Possible 3 way trade with a base of and others could be included: Twins get Lucroy Cleveland gets Plouffe Milwaukee gets Tyler Jay(would love Berrios though) and Kepler from Twins and Kaminsky from Indians and a lower level prospect from one of the teams Thoughts? Underwhelming return for Lucroy? Again if Milwaukee throws in an arm to one of the teams it could possibly sweeten the pot some.
  19. Probably because they need to give up a draft pick to sign him, not sure how many teams are willing to do that, definitely not the brewers
  20. Good to see that Aaron Judge, Gary Sanchez, Jorge Mateo and Greg Bird were not included and we won't see them so often the next 10 years. Last two trades(Chapman and Frazier), seems like many people are saying the Reds didn't get the haul they should have, good for the Crew. Be interesting to see what discipline the league takes on Chapman and how that effects his free agency.
  21. Seems like a good bounce back candidate, my only and biggest issue would be him considered a "cancer" in the clubhouses he's been in the last couple years. With such a young ball club, would the front office want to bring someone in like that with his history of creating such tension?
  22. I really think we need at least an ace and 3B of the future in the Lucroy trade. 1B can always be transitioned from other positions like our glutton of outfielders throughout our system. Corner Infielder prospects are non-existent in our system.
  23. With Lucroy being our last "big" trading chip, I would bet that Stearns would be looking for no less than 4 players in return likely adding one of our arms or OF's to sweeten the pot like the Gomez trade.
  24. Cron started 54 games at 1B last year with 50 at DH, .986 fielding %
