  1. Speaking of which, shouldn't Cameron and Gagne be on that list?

  5. Ok so TBows $3.2 mil comes off the books, so does Gagne's $10 mil, I assume we let Cameron walk so thats $5 mil more....plus what Sheet's is making this year....what.....$8 mil? $9 mil? So that right there is $27 million off the books plus whatever Mota is making. I know that Fielder is due for a huge raise. As is Hardy correct? I dont see how with all that money coming off the books they wont be able to resign at least one of their aces. I dont care if you have to give Sabathia $20 million for 5 years or 6 years....without an ace next year they will be nothing. You have Gallardo, Parra, and a bunch of 4s and 5s in Suppan Bush McClung and whoever else. There is no help whatsoever in the minors either, at least nothing that will be ready by 2009. Sign Sabathia, take the two picks for Sheets, and draft some more pitchers. Hell...sign them both if you can. Can you imagine a rotation of Sabathia, Sheets, Gallardo, Parra, and Suppan?

  10. I see some names on there I like, but none more than CC Sabathia. Could you imagine Chipper Jones in the middle of that lineup? WHat do the asterisks indicate?

  15. I have two tix for sunday I am trying to get rid of. Section 425 Row 13 seats 5 and 6. I am asking $20 for the pair. Send me a message if youre interested.
  16. I'd hate to lose Brantley. He's an ideal leadoff hitter, something we havent had in years. His strikeout rate is out of this world. I would pick Cain as well if those are the four choices.
  17. Sheets has only been healthy 2 seasons...his first one, and his contract year. I'd rather take a shot at Sabathia. I'm not concerned about his weight. Like I said though, i think we can afford both if we really want to. 5 years $100 million for both.
  18. Its nice that the stadium is downtown, plenty of hotels and plenty to do within walking distance. Any suggestions for something to do after the game?
  19. I think we should do all we can to sign them both. Take the money coming off the books from Cameron and Gagne and put it right towards that. Unfortunately if they do that they wont have much left for bullpen help, but hopefully Stetter and Pena, along with Shouse, Riske, Villanueva, Bush/Capuano, and a closer (Torres?) would be good, and cheap. They dont need much help on the current roster, position player wise. Gwynn could replace Cameron, but the main part of the roster, Hart, Hall, Fielder, Weeks, Hardt, Braun, Kendall...will still be a place. Can you imagine a rotation of Sheets, Sabathia, Gallardo, Parra, and Suppan? It would easily be the best rotation in the bigs. Plus you have Bush, Capuano, McClung possibly, and Villanueva to fall back on.
  20. Im thinking about taking a trip down to St. Louis for the Brewers 2 game set in late August. Has anyone ever been down there? Are tickets easy enough to get the day of the game or should I work on getting them ahead of time?
  21. Seems like yet another steal for the Cubs........can someone give a comparision to the players the Cubs gave up with players in the Brewers system.....i.e. which of our players compare best to the players given up by the Cubs.
  22. If you dont mind me asking, what did the police do? DId they take a report? It seems to me like they wouldnt because reports are only made when crimes are comitted, and to me it sounds awfully to prove a crime was comitted.
  23. I just hope when the cubs trade for someone they dont get an absolute steal like they always do. Remember Aramis Ramirez for Bobby Hill? Or Derek Lee for Hee-Sop Choi? Their prospects never turn into anything (see Corey Patterson and Felix Pie) yet people keep trading for them and the Cubs keep dominating the trades.

  25. We'd end up having to give away either Gamel or Escobar to get him so I say no thanks. Plus since the cubs and Phillies want help the price will probably be pretty high. I am fine with giving up Laporta, but I dont want to have given up that many high ceiling prospects in two years (Inman, Laporta, and Gamel/Escobar)
