  1. The only regular show that I enjoy more in HD than standard def is Lost. I have never watched 24 in HD but imagine that would be better as well. But sports viewing is FAR superior in HD. The difference is so great I can't even make a good comparison. aracko - love the signature! Contra rules!
  2. Hall snuck onto the Love list as well, though not for a great reason (lowered expectations based on last season).
  3. Well you know the lyrics wouldn't have worked out right if they said "7-mile high club" and they would have had to junk the whole song.
  4. Gypcasino, your post #104 just made me laugh like crazy. I don't know if it's the particular mood I'm in or what but I can't stop laughing at that. If any of you in the Stevens Point area listen to 95.5, they love Nickelback. My wife listens to that station when she gets ready for work, and they went through a stretch where Rockstar was played daily for a month, long after it was on top of the charts.
  5. I went to a game there in 1986 against the Crew (Rick Manning and Jim Gantner hit HRs in a 5-4 win). I was 9 at the time. We sat in the left field bleachers, and a guy in the front row was heckling the Yankee leftfielder (Gary Roenicke) the whole game. "I'm gonna get you GAR-Y. I know where you live GAR-Y." I wore my Brewer hat and was not spared the wrath of the locals despite being a kid. I am ashamed to admit that I hid my hat under my shirt when I went to the bathroom. Unforgettable experience. Obviously the experience is a little different there now following the Yankees' success over the past decade plus. The attendance for the game I went to was 22,000 for a Monday night in August.
  6. I few years ago I went to the doctor and checked in at 6'2'', 232. I was told I was obese according to their chart. Everyone I told thought it was the silliest thing they had ever heard. Time will tell whether Prince's weight/size will mitigate his age advantage, but since we don't know it will, at this point I would take Prince over Howard for sure.
  7. Funkyplaidcoat - I laughed out loud reading your point that the milkmaids from your year are now all grown up. Only guys that went through BBS will understand how significant that is!
  8. City of Upham, class of 1994. Sadly the most memorable thing from my time there was reading the headline announcing the OJ murders.
  9. 27 men left on base. With two walks. WOW.
  10. J.J. Hardy's hair Like he just rolled out of bed Get that man a comb
  11. Powell thinks we're dorks It's all for love of Brewers Speak of us kindly
  12. Some quick notes: I believe sundevil1 made the point earlier in this thread that Hall just needs to slow down. Melvin was on WTMJ this morning and said that Hall still has an infielder's mentality when he gets to a ball, and he needs to take his time since an outfielder doesn't have to make the quick play like Billy was used to at SS or 3B. Anyone notice that Hall slid into home on Gwynn's bunt single? Two times there was a play at the plate, no slide (I'm including the infamous double steal attempt). No play at the plate, slide. Go figure. When they were giving updates on Buerhle's no-no on FSN, they first showed a graphic that had his line at 8.1 IP, 8 H, 0 ER. If you are showing a graphic where the point is to illustrate that someone has a no-hitter going, shouldn't you make sure the number of hits in that graphic is correct? Then, after the no-hitter was complete, the put up his final line, and it still said 8 H!!! I know that may seem minor to some, but missing details like that just doesn't make the broadcast look very professional. Couldn't have expected more from the T-Bow/Coco 8th-9th inning combo. Hope they keep up the exceptional work.
  13. I'm almost a little disappointed the game is over - how can it get better than this? Great job by the Crew today. If that is a realistic preview of what we are going to see this year, this is going to be a very fun season!
  14. Ok, do we set up the walk-off scenario by giving up a run now or do we wait until the 9th?
  15. As I left work last Friday I looked at my Brewers calendar and realized that when I got in Monday morning I would be flipping it from March to April, on Opening Day no less. So I get in this morning, take one last look at the photo of J.J. Hardy for March, flip the page to April, and discover that the player pictured for this month is ....... Chris Magruder?!?!?! Nice choice. Even that can't temper my enthusiasm for Opening Day. Go Brewers!
  16. Thanks for keeping the discussion around the game/team, Duluth. I'll assume my ribbon is in the mail.
  17. I will gladly eat my words if they stage a comeback, but does anyone need further proof that we are not yet a playoff team?
  18. Rather frustrating game to follow at times, but what a great finish. Results are what matter, and that's one in the W column for the Crew!
  19. I hate the way this team makes me react negatively to everything. For example, I can't help but feel that after coming back and tying it up, it will not be tied the next time we come up to bat. I sure hope I am wrong, but dang, how many times has that happened this year? Prove me wrong Brewers, I dare ya!
  20. How is that two-strike approach Ned was referring to the other day working out? Looks like they are really shortening up and looking to put it in play today http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  21. Ahh, game #71 of last year. Living in the Twin Cities and not getting back to Milwaukee much I have only been able to see the Crew when they came to the dome the past two seasons. Last year I was treated to the Liefer show and a nice outing by Santos/Adams. This year I endured Glover getting pulled in the 2nd and Spivey's stellar baserunning. Go get one tonight Brew Crew!
  22. "It almost did happen. In the 82 ALCS a fan at County Stadium reached over the fence and took a ball away from Oglivie, giving the Angles a grand slam. Fortunately the Brewers won anyway, otherwise that fan would be hated to this day." Very true. In fact, that play was the reason why a gap was added between the outfield wall and the first row of the bleachers in County Stadium. That gap did not exist before that.
  23. I attended the game last Saturday in Minneapolis in which Ginter hit three line-drive singles. You could question the quality of the pitching he was facing, but the fact remains that all three of his hits were hard-hit balls.
  24. I can only imagine Bowa's calm, level-headed reaction to these events . I'm sure glad I am not within 20 feet of him right now.
  25. I'm following online: how did Perez score from second on a wild pitch?
