    Albers done good.

    He got out of it!

I hope Chase has a good game tonight.

Travis is due to hit one out. Hopefully he does just that.

Burnes to the bullpen with Anderson getting his starting job back makes sense with Chase getting a short leash. Woodruff the best of the young group was my guess but didn't think the other two would be so inconsistent.

Travis getting hits with a sore hand.

DH in an American League park. Right! No Woodruff hitting.

Tonight I hope Woodruff will pitch a good game and get a hit. I also hope Travis and Jesus get going tonight. They are in terrible slumps. Having said that without knowing the lineup they might not even be in the lineup. But one can hope.

Sweep! Great season so far. The young starters are doing well. New bullpen guys are doing well. Dare I say that we have the best GM in the sport to get the Crew this far and the fans are loving this team the past two years.

When they won after the exciting ending of the first game less than 20 pages. Last night more than 20 pages with the loss. I've had my share of complaining but it is far too early for me. Now here's Woodruff's turn to make Stearns right in going with three young starters instead of signing or trading for a starter.

Yay! The run to this year's playoffs begins. Excited to see what they can do this year with this payroll.

Yes to a DH. Thames and Braun would be perfect for the role.

He had better be better than he showed in the playoffs against the Crew. A big incentive for him is to have a big year and get his big contract from someone. Hopefully Stearns made a good signing. Pina as backup sounds good to me and if Grandal falters he can take over.

Excellent article. I remember Travis walking more last season. Also quite a few hard hit balls not dropping in because of great defensive plays. MLB tracking the latter is a good tool. Travis is a very good Brewer and Stearns made a very good trade for him and the others.

    Thanks for the responses.

Does anyone know what Stearns meant when he said that Shaw back at third would be a "default scenerio"?
  17. rcc
Bad deal is so right. Stearns has done a very good job in his deals but Schoop wasn't a good fit and the cost was too high. Gotta respect David for admitting it.

I couldn't agree more. Excellent example.

It was a rumor reported (or started) by Jim Bowden (thread link). Bowden reported last January that the Brewers were interested in... "3B Michael Moustakas with the idea that if they signed Moustakas they could trade Travis Shaw to NYY, ATL or NYM according to a club source." Well there's that. Nothing came of Bowden and his rumors.

I don't think there was anything to it but speculation. There was a time in the offseason last year where it was reported that the team was looking into signing Moustakas as a free agent. That would lead to the conclusion that they were shopping Shaw. Of course, they very well could have been considering the Shaw to 2B move way back in February too. They probably already knew Travis would agree to and do well at 2nd when they went for Moose. Your post makes more sense than "apparently on the block" without any substance to that claim.

Now he can grab his crotch all the way back home after striking out 3 times when the Dodgers needed him to produce last night. Loser!
  22. rcc
I never read the team wanted to trade Shaw. Links please.

The best part of the WS was Machado striking out to end the game and give the Sox the win and the series. He didn't hit and even kicked Pierce at first like he did to Jesus. Just a punk and whoever gives him a big contract will be making a big mistake. If he acts like that trying to get the big contract imagine how he will be after he gets one guaranteed.

I like it. Not worth it for that money.
