  1. I posted this in the non-Brewers IGT as well, but I figure it'd be worth a mention here.. Someone with a TV, please fill me in. What happened to Griffey? Gameday says: Chicago White Sox centerfielder Ken Griffey Jr. leaves due to an injured leg. I fear for the worst..

  3. In play, out(s) ..has never been more painful to see than today.
  4. It's ok..I would bet that they remember even less than you do of the early 90's. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Honestly, I wouldn't let stuff like this bother you. You have a plan in place. Take your classes, do well on your exams, and you'll earn that degree that you've always wanted. I feel you've mentioned it on this board for long enough..I say you go out and do it! The guys/girls that may or may not give you that awkward glance every now and then - you'll never see them again in your life, and if by chance you do, you won't care because you'll be proud of what you've achieved.
  5. For sake of argument, I agree there are reasonably priced full-season packages out there. Even if one can't afford the cheapest season tickets, I'm sure there are ways to split costs with others to meet razorsharp's absurd 'season ticket ownership = true fan' threshold. But my point in my above post still stands. The whole idea of having to attend games to be considered a 'true fan' is ridiculous. I'd love to attend all 81, 20, or even one, but I can't. This is why I'm here!
  6. A word of warning about the Terrace..make sure you can find a table! Things were progressing well on a first date situation one time, only to get to the Terrace to find it absolutely packed. The only table that opened up was directly next to the stage, which was fine until some god-awful band took over and we could no longer hear each other speak over the singer screeching over the mic. I did not get a second tryout for this particular team..it could be because I'm a horrible date, but it's convenient to blame it on the Terrace http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. I live overseas and won't be attending a single Brewers game this season. Same goes for Brewers fans serving the US military abroad. Not to mention most of the Bf.netters scattered around the country who access this website and forum religiously because they can't attend games. Where do we need to go to turn in our True Fan™ membership cards? Edit: Because I didn't like the way my message looked the way it was originally.
  8. I'll continue to beat this dead horse.. http://cache.deadspin.com/assets/resources/2007/03/tonyalmostmadeit.jpg
  9. Post #28: Easily the winner at this point. Cool to see the STL fans finding humor in of their situation.
  10. Similar thing happened to me about a year ago. It wasn't a high-speed police chase, but a guy was traveling the eastbound directly in the middle of the westbound lanes of I-94 between Johnson's Creek and Lake Mills. Not sure how much further he got after passing me, but some squad cars did go zooming by on the eastbound lanes a minute or so later. To have a car headed straight toward you on the freeway is quite the surreal experience.
  11. It will be Wandy Rodriguez' first time facing Milwaukee this year, but if my counting is correct, 10th in his career.
  12. Sources say the Brewers have moved on, but may "welcome him back, in a different role than before". Fans are concerned about what this will all mean for his legacy.
  13. I do seem to recall reading somewhere that one reason he chose Detroit was his good relationship with Phil Garner.
  14. Chris Redman?
  15. In terms of brand/city pride, it's hard to tell whether this is better or worse than InBev's recent takeover of A-B.
  16. Aha, very nice. I knew something was up when I started looking through my historical posts (i.e. this thread) and saw Sabathia staring back at me in Nostradamus-esque fashion. I'll be having fun with this. For the time being, CC will be smiling at Kash Beauchamp.
  17. For reasons completely unknown to me, CC Sabathia makes an appearance next to any profile image that I upload. Must be a glitch within Yuku. I'm kind of liking it though.
  18. No! Not at all. Very strange, since my Yuku profile looks normal. I don't know how many posts I've made since CC made his mysterious appearance, but I hope it didn't ruffle any feathers.. In any case, using this post to test out the new avatar. Patio Daddio was getting stale anyway. To keep the topic moped-related..I had always wanted one while at UW, especially those first few semesters when your classes are inevitably at opposite ends of the campus with 15 minutes in-between. I read a stat somewhere once that Madison has the most mopeds registered per capita in the entire country. Or most per square mile..something like that. EDIT: Ok...this is definitely a bug within Yuku. A hilarious one at that, but a bug nonetheless.
  19. Surely not as obscure, but happy times in the world of ex-Brewers RP Al Reyes. Charges stemming from a bar fight dropped earlier today.
  20. And is someone playing a prank on me, or do I see a picture of Sabathia grinning alongside my homage to a bad bratwurst commercial? The placement is kind of funny in a way, but I had nothing to do with it..
  21. Reminds me of when I passed by Joe Monty's nasty on-campus spill a couple of years ago. No idea who it was at the time, but it wasn't a pretty sight..
  22. A related article: http://onmilwaukee.com/sports/articles/yostiphone.html
  23. This is that Carsten fella we traded LaPorta for, right?
  24. If we do end up losing him this winter, it'll be interesting to see what kind of Ctrl-Find, replace, job the webmaster will have to do. Baseball is his passion. Family is his life. The [Pending, highest bidder] are his team.
