  1. No one I have heard from has decision making positions.
  2. Be polite, compliment people, and overall, treat others the way you'd like to be treated.
  3. No AC yet, so it's not summer here.
  4. Brewers' people and reporters do read blogs and message boards, and sometimes even e-mail people...trust me.
  5. As well as McClung has pitched, minus the 5th innings in his two "getting stretched out" starts, Weaver does not look like an upgrade, not to mention he's much older. Weaver, as of right now, looks like depth. I'm sure the Crew will let Weaver go if someone wants him in their rotation...hopefully, thye can make that promise to him and keep him around.
  6. Tonight, Weeks would have been out on a perfect throw to the plate, but would have scored (as he did) 90% of the time. What it often comes down to is simple mathematics. Dale seems to get it, as he seems much more aggressive with 2 outs.
  7. TB will lose at least a pair of players for several games. They feel being tough is more important than winning, I guess.
  8. Downtown Chicago traffic is being debated? Only place I've ever been that had garbage blowing in the breeze as well.
  9. Never been to NY or Philly, so I cannot speak of them. However, if one is questioning Chicago's cleanliness or traffic headaches...
  10. Suppan makes $10M+ per. The estimate I saw for Sheets was 3y/$55M, and I think that might be close, unless someone goes 4/75. CC or Ben for $12M? Maybe 3-5 years ago.
  11. WI would be used for several events. It's as close as WI will ever come to hosting the games, as far as I can tell. Is there really a rivalry with Chicago? It's a very dirty city with no idea how to handle traffic. I can't imagine needing to put it down at all. And thank goodness so many IL people come to the Dells and have cabins/cottages here.
  12. The folks who want to risk the future of the club on giving Sheets $50-75M will be the first ones to want to trade him if he misses a start. Ben's a fine pitcher, but I cannot see any team outside the top large markets (maybe 8-10 teams) taking a risk on him because of the funds he'll be making.
  13. I have personally heard from reporters who hate Tony W and have no idea how he got this job, as they would give a reproductive organ to do so. One spoke of him wandering the press box during the game until the 7th/8th inning, before sitting down to start his story, all the while complaining about his lot in life. They all hate him. His stupidity for printing bad questions is one thing, but his ignorance of answering them is off the charts.

  17. I would have to think the odds of him C in the big leagues is slim, as he will be awkward if he grows (of course, Joe Mauer shows there can be exceptions). Just looking at his past, he might well hit his way to the bigs well before he has the ability to catch as well. 2nd or 3rd best hitting prospect in the draft, per ESPN...that sounds like a Jack Z calling card.
  18. Joe, if this kid ends up being Eric Byrnes, he will have far surpassed the norm for the 16th pick. It's far from Prince or Ryan, but that's what is expected from a "very good" 16th pick. I did not mind Josh Fields at all, until they just said he's under 6-0, which is tough for a RHP. He might have been a nice pick at 35, but not at 20.
  19. he was HBP, which does not count as a PA By the way, a HBP counts as a PA, but not an AB.
  20. I thought Salome was from New York City. Granted that is in the world.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Not a Beltre fan, and especially not at that price. I'm happy to let SEA eat that mistake. I'd much rather have a Branyan/Dillon platoon for 1/20th the cost, or a Gamel/Dillon platoon, or Bill Hall for that matter.
  22. I'm too busy trying to recall if Yost should be fired and Fielder should eat meat. Wait a couple weeks, and this will seem just as strange a question. Gabe should probably play a bit more until he cools off, and day games after night games. I doubt if he's more than a reserve 2 months after returning from his retirement.
  23. It's a lot "easier" making the team if you are a World player, or so it seems. Wasn't Escobar in it last year...or was that Iribarren? I seem to recall an INF.
  24. Marte's long swing alone keeps him from being a prospect. I can't imagine trading Laporta and Villy for a couple months of anyone. CLE is right in the hunt as well.
