  1. His stuff would dictate he would struggle versus LH hitters, and he did. AAA LH bats are obviously, not nearly as talented, and even those than can hit lack power. He can get away with it in N-ville, but not against Dave Ortiz.
  2. Your brother's pronunciation of Necedah is correct.
  3. Your brother's pronunciation of Necedah is correct.
  4. I have Brantley top 5, maybe 3 on a good day. He's 21 and he gets out less than 60% of the time at AA, and plays CF...that's really impressive.
  5. Brantley is younger than Green, plays a level higher, and plays a position further to the left on the defensive scale. Their OPS's are all but identical, and Brantley has a higher OXS. Poor Mike, he's simply far too low, and has been for ages.
  6. Like all band-aids, a quick, clean separation is best. It's offensive to me that so many 3 & 4 year-olds used to wander my store with them in mouth.
  7. Greene was a very good defensive catcher, so his best place is roving around as an instructor. However, managing a couple games will not hurt anything.
  8. The O's would save a ton of money, and the Brewers would not improve at all. I'll pass.
  9. The Twins and Crew are both 3-4 games over where they "should be", so much of the whining in this thread seems like sour grapes. Considering the Crew's outstanding one run game record and the fact Joe Mauer hit a 95 mph fastball at eye level out of the park to win the only contested game, I'd say you tip your cap to them.
  10. You're not going to get much more than 2 good prospects for 2 months of Sheets. Comp picks are probably at least 75% of what you'll get anyway, and you don't need to answer questions about why you traded him. Seems apparent.
  11. What DHonks said. Errecart's BB/K ratio makes him a fringe prospect at best.
  12. Nuk is a brand name, and much shorter than pacifier, so it makes sense.
  13. One is healthy and one is not. Harden has value, but the A's will not get much for him because he is unlikely to give you a dozen starts.
  14. Really do not have a long guy in the NL, as you PH almost always.
  15. Well, except the 7 other affiliates 6 minor league teams, so 5 other teams. They are all there to develop players for the bigs. The concern seems to be poor Helena, playing with only 9 or 10 position players...who cares? Stressing out over stuff like that is a complete waste of time. I don't care if they win a game all year, I just hope they have a few guys in the majors in 5 years.
  16. We nevr let our son have it except at night for sleeping. We had him give his to Santa (at 1.5) to give to other kids. He never missed it.
  17. Minor league teams often run low on bodies. That's the way it is, as there isn't a magical reserve team somewhere to draw from. The minors are for developing major league players, so to be upset a SS is playing RF for a day or two is far from a problem.
  18. They'll certainly draw more the first couple years of the new ballpark, but after that, April and September will be light, as it will be cold.
  19. I plan to keep checking it every 500 miles until I do not have it. Thanks Teatoe, appreciate your knowledge.
  20. Anyone who knows anything about cars can chip in here, just an update. After flirting with an extended warranty for used vehicles, we just decided to check the oil every 500 miles or so and add oil if necessary, and drive it until it blows up. I checked it once after 750 miles, and last night after 810...it is exactly on the "u" in full on the dipstick...so, no oil use in 1500+ miles since they put it back together. My wife said maybe they "fixed" something by putting it back together...something tighter or whatever? That sounds strange to me, but it makes as much sense as anything else that has happened. I know it was low once, as an oil change place told me the car had no oil on the dipstick after I went about 4500 miles between changes. They did 3 checks on it at Saturn...is it possible they forgot to fill it up each time, so when it used a tiny amount, it just added onto what was already used. A question for Teatoe or whoever, should I tell them to leave it a half-quart low when I add the oil additive? I assume you don't just want extra volume in there.
  21. Bray doesn't have much margin for error, as he does not throw very hard.
  22. DC just offered Guzman a long-term deal. TYhey have no use for Hall and why trade your closer for a platoon guy?
  23. Fuentes is a nice pitcher, but I sure wouldn't give up a whole lot for him. However, Gillespie is not a "whole lot", and neither is Pena. I think others need him more, and will give more.
  24. Could not care less about the Cubs. If the wildcard goes away, then I'll be concerned.
  25. Mostly luck, with some good bullpen work thrown in for good measure. Two line drive DP's at Prince tonight is just good fortune.
