  1. At least Love has some practice days and insn't just being chucked in at the last minute.
  2. I think Cruz was in the outfield catching balls when Yelich was having batting practice. I was at the "Restaurant to be Named Later". I yelled, "Throw to the guy with the burned hands" and he wound up tossing one to me. Got one of Yelich's practice balls.
  3. Bummed I didn't make any games there this year, despite the stadium being only about 7 miles from my house.
  4. When I lived in Superior we once had a moose walk into town one day. It became a huge event and the cops were all over guiding traffic away. Despite the police protection, some car came along and still managed to kill the moose.
  5. Yeah, what cushions my situation is that the school district puts in about 2,000 a year into our account. She's putting about 230 a month in herself, which is what she was doing before this year when we had a flex account instead. For my 1,800 bill for the emergency room visit I was able to set up monthly payments, so I don't kill my account which was nice. I found out the hard way, Thedacare doesn't do burns. They stuck me in an ambulance (2,300 bucks, thank you very much) and drove me down to the Ascension burn center down in Milwaukee. (nice view of the lake from my hospital room...) Their bill was the big one along with the big charge for the ambulance. I had mostly hit my deductable by the time those charges came up. The flex account we used to have was nice in that all the year's money was available right at the start of the year. The downside is the "use it or lose it" feature at the end of the year, where we couldn't save up money.
  6. I know all about that. My wife's a teacher and we have her plan. Decent premium, but a 3,000 deductable. I blew mine away lately. I had an "accident" almost 6 weeks ago and flash-burned both arms and forearms. 2nd degree burns all over. Put my big payment on an easy payment plan out of my HSA and now I'm free to go to the hospital as much as I want. The urologist wanted to to an internal scan on my bladder, so I don't have to put that off now.
  7. What's the consequence of missing the pitch clock? Automatic Walk?
  8. They have blank ones there that they will customize for you. I had an Aguilar one made a couple years ago, the last year he was on the team.
  9. I just can't root for the Cards. I want that shotgun stuck under their armpit and the trigger pulled. Since they hosed us in the 2011 season, I really don't want a repeat. I'll root for the Giants overall anyway.
  10. Ugh... Late games... At least it's on a weekend.
  11. Lauer tends to kill NL West teams too -- especially the Dodgers.
  12. This seems so anti-climatic after the Brewer game.
  13. Thanks Hom. As bad as 2020 was, 2021 was a disaster. Covid in Feb Lost my Dad to an aneurysm in his aorta bursting Had mom in surgery for the same aorta issue my dad had. A 5-7 day hospital visit turned into 6 weeks, as her kidneys took 4 weeks to start working again. Still trying to get her to eat. Then my burn incident. I'm done with this year...
  14. Thanks. I did something really bone-headed a couple weeks ago which resulted in 2nd degree burns on both hands and forearms. Lots of pain with that. I had my last visit today to Ascension Burn Clinic, so it's nice having lighter bandages on. I can finally type again. I didn't recognize who was in the outfield, but I'm guessing it was Jacob Cruz, the asst hitting coach. Glad he was sporting with me. We were hoping Christian would hit one to us. Andy Haines was talking to him quite a bit and demonstrating stuff, so it looks like he's trying to fix things too. I was impressed how early he was out.
  15. I was down in Milwaukee for my weekly treatment on my burned hands. Afterwards we went to "The Restaurant to be Named Later" for lunch. We had a nice spot on the outside. Yelich was there setting up for batting practice before 2:00. We watched him hit a few. They had a guy in the outfield catching balls. I yelled to him: "Throw to the guy with the burned hands", and he smiled and tossed me one. So I have an actual ball hit by Yelich in batting practice.
