  1. I think this says it all right here. He was right, though. The game was over. https://twitter.com/pmort3225/status/911068717001428993
  2. I couldn't remember any regular season games because those are pretty easy to shut out after some time, including that Cubs game in 2007. That one has to rank right up there. Game 6 in the NLCS, with Kotsay in CF and an obviously gassed Marcum pitching with his dead arm, Roenicke really angered me with those moves. I thought Narveson was the one that should've went that day because he had pretty good success against the Cards, but I'm sure RR didn't want to go to a #5 starter in an elimination game, although he was still a clear cut better option than Marcum. Game 7 of the 82 World Series of course, but I was a little kid back then and I remember my father wouldn't allow me to stay up past my normal bed time because it was a school night so I didn't see the whole game.
  3. Perhaps your opinion will change when somebody dies. And this is not the fault of the grandparents. That ball could've killed anybody.
  4. Wouldn't help. Lee Elia was right. Cubs fans don't have jobs.
  5. Think Fox is regretting the decision to air tomorrow's game?
  6. You can't overslide a base. Sogard would've easily been safe. You can pretty much write off winning the division now, and if the Rockies win tonight, the playoffs are a fat chance.
  7. If Perez can draw a walk of all people, maybe not all hope is lost.
  8. I hate Cubs fans. I hate Cardinals players. I hate everything about the Pirates.
  9. If Knebel manages to weasel out of this inning unscathed, they darn well better win this in the bottom of the inning.
  10. And as bad as the bullpen has been the majority of the season, lately they've been lights out. It's the offense that has been floundering since the All Star break.
  11. It's that kind of mentality the Brewers have that has led to a 4-10 extra inning record this year. I'd love to see it but when players go up there thinking home run or bust, 9 times out of 10 it's bust. The reason they are 4-10 in extra innings is because their bullpen is terrible. Here are their losing pitchers in the 10 losses: Torres 1 Drake 3 Peralta 2 Feliz 1 Barnes 1 Hughes 2 How often do you see a starter lose an extra inning game?
  12. Doesn't it feel like the Cubs are a team of destiny for the second year in a row? How is that possible?
  13. Half our roster would've swung at that ball four. And that's being kind.

  15. It was easier to see he was out lastnight than it was to see he was safe just now. I didn't see anything conclusive. I won't harp on it though because no harm done. Now let's win this in the ninth right here and forget about extra innings please.
  16. That's crap. If you can't overturn lastnight's call you can't overturn this one.
  17. Santana's AB is the kind of ABs you get when your offense depends on the home run to score 90% of your runs. OK it's more like 48% but the point is still valid. http://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2017/08/25/brewers-struggles-runners-scoring-position-makes-them-vulnerable-when-hrs-vanish/597754001/
