I didn't have a first overall selection in any of my fantasy drafts but if I did, I would've passed on McCaffrey in favor of Henry or Cook for this very reason. He can't stay healthy.

Feels like people have been saying this all week. They need to take 2 from the Mets regardless of what the Cardinals do. Team needs to build some confidence heading into the final week. I guess what would be sweeter is celebrating at Busch Stadium. But that would require us actually winning a game there against our daddies.

The only silver lining in this personally is I'm going to the game Sunday and that may be the day they clinch. But we shouldn't be in this position now. This should already be over.

Absolutely inexcusable to get swept like this. Absolutely inexcusable. The division should've been wrapped up days ago, and there's a good shot they won't have it wrapped up by the end of the homestand. I hope Counsell and crew don't have the "these games don't matter" attitude.

Yeah, these people must think it's easy to just turn it back on like a switch when they need to. No matter what sport you play, once you take your foot off the gas it's really hard to get it back.

If this continues, they're going to turn into meaningful games. Nope. They literally need to lose every game they have left. Not to mention the team behind them have to win virtually every game they have left. Hell, I would limit the innings of the big dogs and late inning guys and let Gustave, Norris, etc pitch a lot these last 9 games Counsell has been doing that. We are 2-5 since and making that team picture in their football jerseys the new "sweep suits".

If Stearns didn't make the deal for JBJ, our highest paid player would be our worst hitter on the team.
