    Wow, as much as I love Murphy, this is a baffling decision. Similar to the Devin Williams disaster in Saint Louis.

    Still like Megill closing better than Williams. It’s not a bad problem to have, that’s for sure. But Williams goes in, and get your BP cuff ready.

    I must say Megill closing for most of the season was so much less stressful. Devin Williams seems to be constantly tight rope walking disaster.

    I guarantee 90+ percent of Brewer fans were thinking “get him out of there!” after walking in the 5th run. I know I was. I don’t understand arguing this to death. Murphy blew this one. It’s really ok to admit it.

    Murphy has been mostly great this year, but yeah, this loss is all on him.

    I get it, blah blah blah Dodgers and their $400million payroll, but did anyone expect last years World Series to be Arizona vs Texas with the two #1 seeds swept in the DS? I sure didn’t. Make it in, get/stay hot and win it for Uecker!

    This is starting to feel like 2018 all over again. Let’s just win for Uecker.

    Another high watermark for this team at 17 over. Honestly this is starting to feel like 2018, and we don’t even know what pitching rotation we will have. This is a fun year, considering we weren’t expecting any of this. Maybe we could win it all the way we play and battle. Who knows.

    It’s so obvious what Peralta does. He gets ahead in the count and then just nibbles. If he would just attack a little more… it’s in his head. Save some of those 40 pitches in 2 innings for the next couple.

    Very surprised that went out. I went for a jog during the 4th inning around the stadium (one of my favorite runs during a game) and the panels are open and the wind is blowing in from due east constantly.

    I think the point was that the only reason his back swing hit the catcher was because the catcher had already lost the ball and was lunging forward.

    Craig could have retired, gone to the Mets, Houston, Cleveland, and I would have said "good luck, and thanks for everything"... but this? I will boo this clown every chance I get. What an absolute stab in the back. I wish nothing but terrible for Craig Counsell going forward.

    It’s really kind of insane. Same thing happened to me for game 3 in 2008. I was just stunned.

    I feel like shuttle service has expanded a bunch during the past decade too... Probably for the better traffic and drunk-driving-wise. I haven't tailgated in over 5 years. I walk to the bar, grab a beer or two and an app, and hop on the shuttle.

    I was defending Counsell all year to friends/family - "It'll be fun not sniffing the postseason for a decade", I'd say. The fact that he got this group to win a division is something else. But the management of the last two games has even me throwing in the towel.

    I was going to say, "how in the world is that even possible?" but then I remembered - lockout. 🙂

    Honestly my absolute joy of making the postseason with this pitching staff and a nice shutout of the Cubs with my (almost) 5-year old next to me to close the season went down several notches with the Woodruff news yesterday… really tempered my expectations for this series . We quite possibly survive this loss with Woody tomorrow. Glad my wife and I have a cooking class at Public Market (scheduled in June) so I don’t have to watch tomorrow. If it’s close, I guess we hit a bar in the third ward at 8:00 for the final third. Surprise me ‘Crew.

    Its unfathomable to me that Rick Schlesinger can look at the immensely successful Deer District and Titletown and say out loud "this is a bad idea". He should be ousted from his role for even suggesting it.

    Honestly the same could be said about D.Williams. More often than not it seems like he gets into trouble, amps himself up, and then gets the job done. That said, every time I see Chafin take the mound I cringe.

    Yep. Just some mind-blowing hot takes on this place when the team does a bunch of good and then loses one in unfortunate fashion. You win series consistently and you have as much chance as anyone.
