  1. Burnes clearly doesn't have his best stuff but he has kept the Crew in the game. Can we please score some runs???
  2. I never expected them to do more than win the division and am not even convinced that they will do that. They just did not get enough offense in the offseason or at the deadline. What is so frustrating is they had their challenges offensively last year and they did nothing of substance to correct it.
  3. And that's why you can't give up extra outs.
  4. Reds lost and Cubs are losing. Let's do this!!!
  5. Yelich can't lay off the slider out of the zone. Why do they even throw him anything else???
  6. I was at the game tonight. I couldn't believe the lineup when I saw it. Counsell is getting lots of blame. I can see both sides of that. His lineup wasn't good. I mean someone under 200 batting cleanup??? Keeping your hottest hitter out of the lineup??? I have been a season seat holder in the past. I think 14 of the last 15 years I had some sort of season seat holder package. I didn't get one this year because I didn't think the Brewers did enough in the off season (and this is not on Counsell). They struggled to score last year and how did they fix it? Not by signing a big bat but rather by signing a couple of over the hill guys and hoping they could get the magic back. The most frustrating thing about all of this is we have one of the best pitching staffs in all of baseball and we are wasting it because we can't hit when we need a basehit. Counsell doesn't do the hitting but he can put people in the lineup who are our best hitters. What I predicted at the beginning of the year was going to happen is indeed happening. The Brewers are going to be enough in the race to keep it close and keep people interested but they will falter down the stretch because of an overused bullpen and an anemic offense. What a waste of a manager who could do wonderful things if ownership would pay for one or two better than mediocre hitters. Other than two games - 14-1 and 12-1 the offense has made very few games easy for the pitching staff. The mark of a good team is that sometimes the pitching carries it, sometimes the defense carries it, and sometimes the offense carries it. Other than the two games I referenced above, when has the offense carried this team? I'm frustrated but I shouldn't be because I saw it coming and I did not have high expectations.
  7. Because they always play to the level of their competition or in some cases below it.
  8. It wouldn't be so bad if they were fastballs in the strike zone.
  9. I have never complained about other people in the clean up spot on this board but it is ridiculous to have someone under 200 with one homerun as your clean-up hitter!!!
  10. Williams can't do this twice in a row can he???
  11. I'm only partly not serious in the next statement. I am thinking the Brewers should have American legion left handed pitchers pitch batting practice for the next couple of months.
  12. This team just can't seem to make it easy on itself or it's fans. At one time leading 9-1 and now it's 10-7..smh
  13. I agree with you but I'm not sure Weimer would be in the big leagues if Frelick and Mitchell weren't hurt.
  14. Only the cardinals can load the bases with only one ball leaving the infield!!! Disgusting.
  15. Runner on second with no outs and none of the three guys can even put the ball in play?????
  16. Weimer is having one of his best days as a Brewer in a long time and you pull him???????????????????????????????????????????????????
  17. I was at the game today. I have probably been to about 8 of the last 12 home openers. I was very amazed (not in a good way) by the crowd today There were LOTS of empty seats. I'm guessing there were a lot of no shows??? Why?
  18. This game (blowing a late inning lead) and only scoring two runs is a microcosm of the second half of the season.
  19. I have a feeling that I am going to be very frustrated watching today's game. The Rockies put the ball in play and good things happen. The Brewers strike out with runners in scoring position. I think it is time to look forward to football season.
  20. As soon as Burnes gave up the single in the 6th he should have been pulled. It's not like he was pitching a gem and he had right around 100 pitches. As has been mentioned earlier Craig is having a bad year.
  21. I was at the game tonight. I don't think the team is showing much energy. Other than Adames, I think they looked dead. I can't stand people not running full speed and I saw that several times tonight.
  22. Until the Brewers develop a better approach at the plate they will continue to leave runners on base and continue to lose games that they should win, that their pitching staff gives them an opportunity to win. . I'm not suggesting that have to alway bunt, or always play small ball, but they DO have to put the ball in play. The number of strikeouts with RISP is unacceptable.
  23. It feels like not cashing in on all these baserunners is going to come back to bite us.
