  1. I'm good with that cheap Braun insurance.
  2. Thought I saw they are in on Tillman too.
  3. Does it take them out of the running for FA pitchers? Is another interesting question.
  4. I put it on par with the brewers sign Miley:) Except it's a $2.5 million Major League deal. As I recall, Miley is a Minor League deal. They both stink & should not impact a team from adding another FA arm. Not sure why Sanchez got a major league deal he's been really bad for 3 years.
  5. I put it on par with the brewers sign Miley:)
  6. Twins just signed Anibal Sanchez to a 2.5 Million dollar major league deal. Does that mean they're out on the SP market just like the brewers after signing Miley
  7. Any trade with Boston for Santana probably needs a 3rd team.
  8. The vesting option is if he reaches 340 inngs in the two yrs of this deal. That seems a pretty tough goal for him to reach.
  9. Wonder how this affects Cobb's asking price. Cobb has a much more successful past but he is coming off of TJ surgery. Cashner's and Cobb's 2017 weren't vastly different but Cobb had much better K/BB numbers. I assumed he would get around $16 million per year, but now, maybe not... I'm guessing he can still get the 16 avg/yr but it would probably be a 3 yr deal with vesting option. If Cobb wants the 4 yr guaranteed he'll be hard pressed to get that 16 avg.
  10. I bet it's thou a trade. Will be interesting to see how Cashner gets through Baltimore's Dr.
  11. I'd be OK with that. I like Cobb probably more than a lot of people here. Not a ton of milage on his arm, and getting him out of the AL East should help him put up some nicer numbers. I think he's a low-3's ERA pitcher with the type of stuff to go deeper into games. Totally agree! I'm sick of the argument "we need to add a TOR starter to compete" NO. WE. DO. NOT. Adding a Cobb would be great for us as it improves the rotation as a whole and doesn't strap our small market team with a huge contract. Fans need to understand that you don't need dominant arms in your rotation to win. Look at how long the starters actually threw in the playoffs this year...4 innings max? It was a bullpen game. The Royals won the WS with a TERRIBLE rotation in 2015. There are many many ways to build a winning baseball team. This isn't the old days where your starters routinely threw 7/8 innings. You don't need a HOF staff to get to the playoffs. The Crew could add a Cobb & Cotton to the SP depth & possibly make a move at the deadline for a Fulmer to help put them over the top.
  12. For speculation purposes only if the Crew got Kemp in a deal. Instead of just releasing him they could eat some of his contract so he becomes a decent flip candidate for one of the non-contenders.
  13. Right now I think the Brewers need to add a smaller priced FA pitcher for depth and to let the trade market/Arrietta market play out. So they don't end up with overpaying for a Corbin or Odorizzi as their lone move.
  14. Most of these guys come into money at a young age with very little financial experience or education. Spend money as soon as they get it and retirement isn't considered. The lifestyle of constantly being on the road or having an entourage that thinks you've won the lottery. It can go quickly.
  15. In a normal off season you'd probably be right but it's been so slow to develop most teams have several roster moves to make yet. They'll be opportunity for the brewers to add at least one SP wouldn't shock me to see two actually
  16. I'd be very hesitant to do Ortiz/Santana for Odorizzi. I don't know if Santana for Odorizzi straight up is a fair deal. Sorry I meant if a deal goes down it with the Rays it will likely be for Odorizzi. Not that any deal would include Santana.
  17. Yeah, where is that one? This is the first I've heard about it. That trade would be very palatable, depending on who else is included. I dug a little deeper and I don't think it's real. I am seeing a lot of smoke around something going down with the Rays though from various sources (no, not inside sources). More likely Odorizzi than Archer.
  18. Yeah if a deal requires Woodruff & Santana I'd want a much better upgrade in SP. No thanks on Brandon Drury
  19. I think posted originally if Cotton was part of a package for Santana. Maybe folks misread that.
  20. Also mentioned Cobb and that also makes sense not really basing it on anything new it seems. Maybe not, but it seems to directly refute what Haudricourt thinks/is hoping TH isn't a rumor reporter. I tend to tune him out around the deadline and off season unless the move has already happened.
  21. Also mentioned Cobb and that also Lynn makes sense not really basing it on anything new it seems.
  22. At first I looked just at his MLB stats and thought, Why? But looking at his MiLB stats over 6 seasons, it's far more impressive. 10.1K/9, 2.6BB/9, WHIP 1.1, ERA 3.65. And yeah, at 26, and under Derek Johnson's tutelage, could be a smart, buy-low, DS savvy move. But getting only him back for Domingo? Not so sure about that. Yeah the A's would need to kick in more or perhaps straight up for Broxton
  23. I bet we'd have to add a bit, but I really, really like this idea. A SP prospect probably?
