  1. I like Cotton when I've seen him pitch his stuff passed the eyeball test. Gives up a ton of homers thou. Perhaps it's pitch selection and confidence. Depends on what u give up for him. Maybe he's part of a package including prospects for Santana.
  2. Ken Rosenthal says the brewers have interest in Cotton. He's an interesting buy low candidate. Really great change up gave up a ton of homers thou.
  3. That's what Melvin used to always tell Tom - just before a big Brewer trade or signing. I'm not motivated to trade Overbay at this time. My personal favorite.
  4. Draft pick, perceived decline in stuff, injury worry, etc etc.
  5. I'm guessing Arrieta will be the last big name pitcher to sign.
  6. I think Cobb will be the next to sign of the SP market just a hunch.
  7. Gosh, both options make me sick to my stomach to be honest. I'd prefer Salazar to both of those options. Cashner & Salazar
  8. Phillies are possible but yesterday a report said they were only looking at one year guys.
  9. "My other target for the #Indians this offseason would be Domingo Santana of the #Brewers. I think he would fit very nicely in the Tribe's outfield. He hits right-handed and has upside remaining. Again-Salazar plus two a prospect may begin some valid discussions." Pleskoff isn't the greatest source, but he's a decent baseball guy and sees Santana having more value than Salazar. I think those putting Salazar ahead of Santana are ignoring significant injury history/risk. Could be Bauer instead of Salazar.
  10. Wonder what that does for Walker's market.
  11. Isn't that true of about any trade.
  12. Considering the acquisition cost of Cobb or Lynn I see him as a superior value. I guess I'm with u and don't see how those two are that much better to sink a draft pick plus an additional 40 million.
  13. I prefer him over Suter.
  14. I think he could be a good bounce back candidate. Can't see him earning more than what Chacin got. Maybe a year and an option. Add him as a depth move and grab the higher quality arm latter.
  15. Well can't wait around for these FA arms into March.
  16. I don't think the pitching staff is all that weak. It could be improved for sure but it's not awful. No Garza makes a huge difference. Even if the bigger name pitchers hold out a smaller FA will sign.
  17. YU going to the Dodgers would really shock me.
  18. I think this is a misread of the situation. I doubt the problem is that he has a strong preference NOT to play for the Brewers. If he feels his best offer is a lowball, he's going to continue holding out. The fact that the best offer is from Milwaukee is probably irrelevant at this point. He wants what Strasburg got. The problem is he's 3 years older than Strasburg.
  19. The said that last week too. I'm more curious to see if any SP boycott.
  20. Officially close the door on Texas for Darvish. They're about to sign B. Colombo anchor their rotation.
  21. I don't even think that's it. I truly think that Darvish wants to play for about 2 teams, and he's using the rest to drive up the price. I really don't think he wants to play in the midwest. We're probably the top offer, but I'm sure his people are shopping it to places he actually wants to play to see if they'll match. Which they won't because of luxury tax.
  22. Because @BrewerWorld went skating last weekend. LOL (literally!) OK then.... I mean hey I'm a Domingo Santana fan, but the Indians trading away starting pitching to get Domingo is not likely to be the difference maker that wins them the World Series... Indians are left hand hitting dominate & have several injury risks in the OF. Have 7 pitchers that are rotation worthy. Have a limited budget so on paper they are a decent match for the Crew.
  23. It's called manners something lacking in the public sphere now a days.
  24. If I'm making room for Clevenger. Salazar is still the guy is be moving Bauer gives u inngs Salazar hasn't shown he can do that. If he had been healthy Vs the Cubs they probably would have won that series.
  25. Give the old vesting option
