  1. Some have indicated the O's don't want to give up a draft pick.
  2. Cards get nothing correct?
  3. That's why I consider the O's the favorite for Cobb.
  4. Brewers or O's for Cobb. I'm thinking O's
  5. Cobb will probably sign soon. Gonna be interesting few days for Boras, Holland, & Jake.
  6. Twins close to deal with Lynn https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/03/twins-closing-in-on-deal-with-lance-lynn.html
  7. I think there is only two spots open just like the rotation unless there is an injury. Yo or Suter for long relief. Williams & Hoover for short.
  8. Oh.....and BTW. THIS IS ALL MY PERSONAL OPINION. I DON"T HAVE A SOURCE AT ALL. NEVER DID!!!! Dude or Dudette I don't care. Best of luck to you.
  9. I thought Yo's deal wasn't guaranteed. Everything I'm seeing on line says it is.
  10. This clip is closer.
  11. Especially with the Brewers ace throwing tomorrow
  12. Liz, Hoover, Ramirez, Williams all should have a better chance of making the 25 man than Drake.
  13. Depends on how much the vesting costs and criteria are and assuming the opt out leaves enough planning time, I would think this would be something the Brewers should look. The opt outs let Arrieta get back into the free agency game when the owners act their usual self next year or two, and the vesting options give him the career money assuming he doesn't get injured. Plus, more importantly, the opt outs and vesting allow the agent and player to save face. Yeah I'm thinking it's gonna be along the lines of JDM's type of contract.
  14. This is absolutely a fact. Moustakas was projected to get 5/85 at the beginning of the offseason and got almost 80 million less than his projection. Nobody except the pitchers were even within range of that. And every team needs pitching, those starters and Holland aren't going to go for pennies on the dollar like Moustakas. My guess is lucroy/walker take a 1 year deals and try to reset for next year. But even if they sign similar deals to Moustakas, they weren't expected to get the gobs of money Moustakas was projected for. Going from 3/36 or 2/24 to 1/6 isn't all that drastic, and neither player has a QO attached which shoudl help them a bit. Walker will get a deal. Not sure Luc will get a major league deal thou. People are paying for what you are not what you were.
  15. I'd settle for getting back to Princess Bride Quotes. Inigo: I'm going to do him left-handed. Vizzini: YOU KNOW WHAT A HURRY WE'RE IN! Inigo: Is is the only way I can be satisfied. If I use my right, over too quickly.
  16. 3 yrs 63 Million with 2 opt outs & a couple vesting options. Nats is my guess.
  17. Wonder if it was his agent Boras that advised him to turn down the QO. If so, his agent has lost him a lot of money. I think Boras must be getting desperate, his old ways don't work anymore, and he still has several unemployed clients. I can now see Arrieta and Holland signing for much less, maybe this could be a buying opportunity for the Brewers. Holland I agree. Still think the AVV on Jake will be too rich for the Brewers
  18. Agreed. I wonder if the discount contracts over the last 24 hours may tempt some teams previously not "in" on these top free agents to make a play? I'm thinking the O's will, but I still think the market holds on the SP.
  19. this board is pretty tame. Just don't take folks or yourself too seriously.
  20. You seem like a decent fellow. I hate to kill you. You seem like a decent fellow. I hate to die. Sorry, but I just couldn't leave that line out there hanging like that... Good heavens, are you still trying to win? You've got an overdeveloped sense of vengeance, that's going to get you in trouble someday.
  21. Huh... I thought he meant that Cobb would sign on March 42nd. March 20, 2042 is how I read it.
  22. Know what? There's nothing to know at this point. Maybe that will change in the next few weeks. Could change but Stearns was pretty adamant that at this point he anticipates heading into 2018 with this group. Playing hardball in my mind and keeping a united front. Stearns would sign or trade for a SP in a heartbeat if it is the right fit.
  23. It's just a perfect storm. Awfully hard to have that kind of foresight in Mid-December.
  24. I think what Chatwood got is the ceiling for what Lynn/Cobb get. The market is that narrow.
