  1. One thing going in the Brewers favor with a pre-season trade is the fact they could offer Bumgarner a qualifying offer. This would help offset the price to give up for him.
  2. Could Gamel take over for Thames. Has played some 1st base last year but also now more of the corner outfield sub.
  3. For the 39th pick. Not a fan of this move TBH
  4. Tom @Haudricourt 34s Doesn't sound like #Brewers will make pick in MLB portion of Rule 5 draft. We shall see.
  5. Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 1m Why would #Brewers even consider free agent Daniel Murphy when he annually rates as one of the worst defenders at 2B? Same reason they were comfortable playing Travis Shaw at the position last season. MIL believes team’s shifting can reduce impact of an infielder’s limited range.
  6. I'm gonna be really disappointed to see Gatewood go if he does get selected. I think he's going to be a really good player.
  7. I'd love Adam Ottavino.
  8. To me it would be doubling down on having a great bullpen and then allowing your starters to mix and match. I think they could honestly have 8 "starters" this year. When you have multiple guys in the bullpen that can pitch 2+ innings it could work. I think Stearns wants to find his RH Hader with Burnes moving to the rotation.
  9. I know one of the mods has brought up this guy in the past. He is the one who broke the Moose deal before any of the national news. Brett @bucksbrett 1m #brewers have discussed possibility of signing former #redsox closer Craig Kimbrel
  10. Has anyone thought that the Brewers may not be looking to move Keston because they have an inclination that the DH may be coming to the NL rather soon (ie next couple years)?
  11. The guy who had a higher average WAR than Yelich not counting last year. But sure you can laugh.
  12. If a team was willing to trade a prospect of Hiura's caliber, it would have happened by now. Countless teams have reportedly balked at the asking price of an Acuna, Robles, Bellinger, Tucker, Hiura, etc. At this point, in this market, a team isn't going to all of a sudden make someone like that available. You mean like Brinson? Who wasn't available in the Quintana talks but then was moved for Yelich.
  13. Morosi is going on live shortly on MLB network to talk Kluber FYI
  14. To me if you're not going to give up Keston, you'd need to include three of Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta and Ray.
  15. You keep one of your top 3 (Woodruff) plus add a year in year out Cy Young candidate for three years.
  16. Tom @Haudricourt Someone familiar with what Indians are looking for in a deal for Corey Kluber tells me #Brewers could satisfy their needs. I'm just not sure how #Brewers would squeeze Kluber's $17 million salary into their budget. Seems to me they'd have to deal another salary away (Thames?).
  17. He strikes out way too much to have as much value as you think he has.
  18. Since 2014 his lowest WAR (according to fangraphs) is 5.1 with a high of 7.4 but you don't think we should give up anything for him besides our #2 prospect (who isn't rated in the top 100). You can't get a Cy Young caliber pitcher for multiple years (team controlled through 2021) without giving up something of value.
  19. I said in the other thread that I'd offer Ray, Burnes, Peralta and Thames for Kluber. Yes Peralta and Burnes is a lot. But so was giving up Brinson, Harrison, Diaz, Yamo for the MVP.
  20. I would give up Ray, Burnes, Peralta and Thames. For Kluber
  21. If #Indians trade Corey Kluber, they would like to receive a young outfielder in the deal. So it is not a surprise that the #Dodgers (Alex Verdugo), #Yankees (Estevan Florial) and #Brewers (Corey Ray) all are potential landing spots for Kluber. @MLB @MLBNetwork
  22. Why give up any prospect capital when you can sign someone instead? The stop gap should be a FA or someone within the organization already. Now if they move Keston for a premier pitcher than maybe you trade for a 2b.
