  1. Gives me more optimism surrounding Levonas.
  2. Next years draft is universally praised as a strong crop of talent and the Brewers will have a large amount of $, if Levonas can’t be signed, they pivot to the latter round selections and pocket the selection in a better draft. But all in all, fine with the class but not in love with it.
  3. Ever so slightly above that 75% mark
  4. From Jim Callis: 1st-rder Braylon Payne signs with @Brewers for $3.44 million (slot 17 = $4,534,100). Texas HS OF, one of youngest & fastest players in @MLBDraft, good instincts on bases & in center field, some sneaky power too. @UHCougarBB recruit.
  5. Happens every year. Brewers use up all the funds they can and seem to be shrewd negotiators. Plus they keep stuff pretty tight to the vest. Should see a ton of signings by Tuesday or Wednesday evening.
  6. Braylon Payne will indeed be getting 75% of his slot value. Participated in the combine. Brewers must value him quite highly considering that.
  7. I love the idea of saving up a ton of money and throwing it at projectable high school arms. If we can develop an inexpensive crop of starters to infuse into the big league team with our bats getting more costly, it could be an even more exciting run.
  8. I keep seeing that due to new CBA changes, if a player takes his physical he cannot get less than 75% of his assigned slot value. If that is true, that puts the savings around 1.1 million. That doesn’t feel like it’s enough for a guy that was projected to go around the 50’s and probably should have saved around 2-2.5 million. Hoping the CBA stuff is inaccurate
  9. And what else? Cause this package doesn’t even start a conversation. We’re talking multiple, 3-4 top 10 prospects and a big league ready contributor to land this guy.
  10. Outside of playing well, health and a few breaks, what do the Brewers need to win the World Series this year? I believe the lineup is fairly locked, hard pressed to find a need in it. Potentially a vet bat in the outfield, but with Mitchell returning that feels unlikely. Maybe a super utility guy in the infield then? Definitely a starter or two, probably an upper half of the rotation guy. The pen appears to be set, Williams returning only further solidifies that unit. So in total, a vet bat with positional versatility, and a starter that can pitch in a game 2. The lineup gives us as good a chance as ever before. I don’t feel that this team is far away from being a very serious World Series contender.
  11. That is a steep price but one that must be paid for the control and quality of arm. I’d probably do it but I’d more concerned with losing that young talent in the farm such as Bitonti and Lara. Henderson is pitching lights out in High A
  12. Came to comment about Rock and BA being so incredibly out of touch with the fans and the team, instead just wanted to post Adames!!!
  13. Welp.. got home from work and turned the game on, that worked..
  14. Perkins in centerfield continues to be invaluable.
  15. Nice to get 6 strong from Ross here to start the series. Frelick has me concerned. It’s still early but he just isn’t providing any sort of pop or the on base ability I thought he’d have.
  16. You can’t begin to think these two teams are remotely similar tho? The brewers lead the NL in run differential, they’re not relying on 1 run wins.. this team is hitting and absolutely smacking teams at the moment
  17. I get the positive spin and all amidst a sea of doomsayers, but there’s no possible way losing the best closer in baseball for half the season is a good thing. Especially considering the Brewers history of tight game wins the last few years.
  18. Stress fractures in back, looks like he will be out three months. Brutal injury.
  19. 30 pages of this?!
  20. Looks that way, I pulled up the 40 man and it appears full. Chris Roller would be my next cut if they sign Chapman and need a spot.
  21. 40 man spot cleared?
  22. I want a TON to move from Sal. Of our 4 outfield prospects, IMO he has the 2nd highest floor by a large margin. Snelling would be the target but it probably takes more than Frelick
