I’m not gonna mince words, what a pathetic and uninspiring lineup. Rowdy, Winker, Urias can all go. Adames we’re stuck with, Anderson is playing fine defense but cannot hit and we lack any other options.
I used to watch every single pitch. I just haven’t felt that connection to this team in a few years now. Maybe it was Mark A crying cheap, maybe it’s the lackluster lineup, not sure. But it’s time for a fresh roster.
I’m very quickly becoming indifferent to this team. This core just isn’t gonna win. Best course of action is to sell at deadline and add to the upper levels of the farm to match our current crop of pieces.
I’d demand prospects if it were up to Arnold but it’s not, unfortunately it’s up to Mark. I’d not be surprised at cheap mark if he took money to pocket.
There has to be another move tho right? This team is fine but I can’t imagine they go into next year with this pitching with fine. I think we see a significant move before the end of the month.
I really hope you’re wrong. I’d prefer not to have Taylor starting in right field, I’d also prefer not to have to trot Urias out at third. Not saying they will add two guys for those spots but at least one. Preferably a 3rd baseman to slot Urias at 2nd.
I’m over the moon with this trade. Looking at Narvaez’s defense before he came here and Contreras, they’re not much different and William’s bat is superior and controlled. Love it. Also really like the arms. A+
When do we see this team go for it? I mean really go for it. Push all the chips in, trade meaningful prospects for big additions at the deadline. I would bet next year is the target. Young bats should have had a full season under them, elite pitching doesn’t come around often and sure they could move them for a decent haul but it would be nice to go all in just once.
The two players aren’t really comparable. Bleier’s FIP is around 3.01 the last 3 years and Suter’s is 3.78. Bleier also has two more years of control. Perfect guy for a 7th/8th inning role.
Feel ok about this team overall. Signed Vazquez to a 2 year, 17 mil deal.
traded Ruiz, and Valerio for Diaz. Traded Tyler Black for Blesier, really like his stuff and probably an overpay. Resigned Jace if the $ is right but also ok with Turang after a month or two and signing a minimum guy in the meantime. Fill out the bench with rookies/roster invites. Leaves money to add as well.

I think you could say you expect them to be better just due to bounce back candidates but I don’t know how you could emphatically say the team is better right now. They’ve lost two starters, two of their best, and replaced them with a really good DH’er. Winker could be really really good. But they aren’t better.
Kris Bryant didn’t bring back nearly that much as a rental last year. He fetched the Cubs a top 10 prospect and a top 20 from a very average Giants system. Couldn’t imagine Bell would bring back more than a top 10(8-10) and a lotto. Gonna throw out a guess of Freddy Zamora and Castaneda.

All of those players are under control for next year as well. That peak Turang slash line you posted would set him among the top SS in baseball. Brewers will need cheap options with arb raises and extensions.
