  1. I’d rather they get nothing and make David sit out for a year than Mark collecting more cash for baseball cards.
  2. I’d demand prospects if it were up to Arnold but it’s not, unfortunately it’s up to Mark. I’d not be surprised at cheap mark if he took money to pocket.
  3. Welp, I just posted about an hour ago I felt they had one more big move left before the end of the month and they sure did.
  4. The two players aren’t really comparable. Bleier’s FIP is around 3.01 the last 3 years and Suter’s is 3.78. Bleier also has two more years of control. Perfect guy for a 7th/8th inning role.
  5. Feel ok about this team overall. Signed Vazquez to a 2 year, 17 mil deal. traded Ruiz, and Valerio for Diaz. Traded Tyler Black for Blesier, really like his stuff and probably an overpay. Resigned Jace if the $ is right but also ok with Turang after a month or two and signing a minimum guy in the meantime. Fill out the bench with rookies/roster invites. Leaves money to add as well. C: Christian Vazquez ($8.5M) 1B: Rowdy Tellez ($5.30M) 2B: Luis Urias ($4.30M) 3B: Yandy Diaz ($2.8M) SS: Willy Adames ($9.20M) LF: Christian Yelich ($26.00M) CF: Garret Mitchell ($0.70M) DH: Jesse Winker ($8.25M) Bench OF: Joey Wiemer ($0.70M) Utility: Jace Peterson ($3.5M) Utility: Sal Frelick ($0.70M) Backup C: Victor Caratini ($2.80M) RF: Tyrone Taylor ($0.70M) SP1: Corbin Burnes ($11.40M) SP2: Brandon Woodruff ($11.00M) SP3: Freddy Peralta ($3.50M) SP4: Eric Lauer ($5.20M) SP5: Adrian Hauser ($3.60M) CL: Devin Williams ($3.20M) RP: Luis Perdomo ($1.00M) RP: Matt Bush ($2.00M) RP: Peter Strzelecki ($.7M) RP: Hoby Milner ($1.10M) RP: Richard Bleier ($3.00M) RP: Aaron Ashby ($1.00M) RP: J.C. Mejía ($.7M) Payroll is 7.04% under budget
  6. I think you could say you expect them to be better just due to bounce back candidates but I don’t know how you could emphatically say the team is better right now. They’ve lost two starters, two of their best, and replaced them with a really good DH’er. Winker could be really really good. But they aren’t better.
  7. I’d want an overpay if I’m sending that much major league talent back. One more piece and a lottery or two.

  9. Kris Bryant didn’t bring back nearly that much as a rental last year. He fetched the Cubs a top 10 prospect and a top 20 from a very average Giants system. Couldn’t imagine Bell would bring back more than a top 10(8-10) and a lotto. Gonna throw out a guess of Freddy Zamora and Castaneda.

  11. All of those players are under control for next year as well. That peak Turang slash line you posted would set him among the top SS in baseball. Brewers will need cheap options with arb raises and extensions.
