  1. 1st MLB team since 1994 to have a cy young award winner as a starter and another as a reliever? Now if only we can get that former cy young award winner in the bullpen to excel.
  2. Great article by SI this spring. http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3310783 CC seems like a great guy.. Also the articles talk about his friendship with David Riske, so I'm sure he is excited to be teammates with him again.
  3. oh man, according to MLB.com, the Indians will likely call up newly signed Jeff Weaver to replace CC in the rotation.
  4. CC has gone at least 7 innings in 10 of his last 11 starts. In those 11 starts he has 86 Ks in 84 innings and an ERA of 2.14. WOW!!!
  5. holy crap! We just got the reigning AL Cy young winner and current MLB strikeout leader!!! Go crew!!!!
  6. Ichiro is a god here in Seattle. Even more so than Robin Yount was to the Brewers. We could send them Braun, Fielder, hart and hardy and a two million cash they would still not trade Ichiro.
  7. Sexson is more deserving of an allstar bid than Varitek and that's just sad. He just might be the worst allstar statistically wise ever.
  8. I know this isn't what you are looking for but think it's a great opportunity to show off a rare photo I found of a 17 year old Yount in his high school baseball uniform. Found this from a CA newspaper archive on newspaperarchive.com. Also cool to learn that Yount batted .444 his SR. year. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b380/kdstream/yount.jpg
  9. I know I'm nitpicking now but seriously FSN, Do you have to show Bernie Brewer go down his slide for every home run? Showing perhaps more of the man who hit the home run or the Brewer's dugout would be more exciting. It would be different if that mascot was sliding into a giant mug of beer but some lame slide? come on.
  10. i still miss the Expos.
  11. To think that Huston Street went 35 picks later....arg!
  12. This "hot streak" has been going on for close to three months.
  13. I seem to remember Cal Eldred going deep into a game with a no-no around 1996 or 1997. I remember watching that Sheets game against the Angels.. Jenkens, 0-7 with 6 Ks.. good lord!
  14. When does a man-crush turn into something more? I'm starting to question everything I know. 3 T O 4 LIFE.
  15. At this pace, 3TO will hit 52 home runs in 342 ABs. I would like to see him pick up the pace a little and end the year in the 55-60 HR range and win the NL MVP.
  16. Russell Branyan: NL player of the month for June. damn..
  17. Mark Grace is someone who I wish I never heard talk. He is the worst color man in baseball.
  18. happy for JR. Just too bad it had to happen in a crummy baseball environment like Florida.
  19. This Just in. 3TO needs 5 more home runs to become one of the top 500 home run hitters in the history of MLB!!!!
  20. Good god! Branyan is at a 64.7 3TO AVG. right now. Amazing. FYI: His career 3TO is 53.4 Pretty sure Ryan Howard is his only competition. He's at 52.7 so far this year.
  21. i like gabe too but just because he makes a nice catch or two does not mean his defensive ability is anywhere close to Cameron's.
  22. I think it's safe to say that in general the average fan is dumber than they were 20 years ago.. It's a different age.
  23. It's the little things that really frustrate me watching Brewer's FSN this year. For example, i'm reading Adam's post game wrap up for tonight's Brewer's win, There is a quote from Randy Johnson that says, As Johnson walked off the field with one out in the seventh and the Brewers leading, 3-1, the 29,478 in attendance gave him a loud standing ovation. "One thing I won't forget in my career is the crowd," Johnson said. "Walking off the mound to get a standing ovation like that, as a visiting player, that meant a lot. That's pretty classy, and I won't forget that." That seems like a very nice moment, but what did FSN do? Instead of showing a future hall of famer walking off the mound after a game in which he become 2nd all time in career strikeouts, they chose to show Diamond Backs Middle reliever, Juan Cruz jogging to the mound. Come on FSN!!
