Prospects mean nothing until they make the majors RE: Hendrickson. The Brewers got a proven MLB pitcher for a few unproven minor leauge pitchers. You can't really say this a terrible trade until one of these guys makes the majors and does something, no?
I kind of want to win now and being that our fan support is great and our payroll will continue to rise, I'm not worried about trading a good prospect who is struggling in AA. Our bullpen is better now, that's what matters for us this year.
Anyone know a way to find this out? Just something i've always been curious about.. see how many players were playing in 1997 are still in the game today.. thanks!
Rick Manning, yeah..sorry. When I said I've been going to games for 20 years..I was 6 when I started going to the games. They booed because they didn't send Hardy on Fielder's double....but it was so easy to see that he would have been dead meat at the plate.. and then they really booed after Johnny flied out.. Are these people even watching the game? We are in the best position as a team in 25 years and they friggin boo? come one!
What the heck is up with Brewer's fans booing their own team all the time? It's really bugging me. Is this the price to pay for bandwagon jumpers? There have been at lease 10-15 times they have booed for some reason or other. Seriously. I've been going to Brewers games for 20 years and before the last few years, the only time I remember the crowed booing is When whatshisface got the game winning hit to end Molitor's hitting streak in 87 and in 2003 after Wes Helms made two errors on two consecutive plays.
Yeah I guess the drink comment did come off akward. I live by green lake. Moved here from Madison last year. It's rare to find a Brewers fan up here. The one guy I saw with a glove and ball logo hat had it on just for fashion. I didn't think he knew that the Brewers were a baseball team.
You really have to live in the Seattle area to understand the impact Ichiro has on the Mariners. I moved here from Madison last year and didn't really get it till I lived in the city for a bit and started going to M's games. Seattle has one of the largest asian populations in the United States. And there is a lot of money in Ichiro. You also have to take in acount the many millions of dollars that the M's get each year in Japanese advertizing. It's strange to see a bunch of ads in japanese around Safeco but I'm betting the majority of those ads are because of Ichiro. I'm sure there is also Japanese tv revenue the Mariners recieve. This signing is a no-brainer.. Oh and The M's pro shop is twice the size of Milwaukees and 50% of that is Ichiro related items. I mean, they even have an Ichiro jack in the box for sale ther.
