  1. Brewers signed Ryon Healy
  2. I believe if a trade were to get done with the Yankees, Andujar would be a part of it, which isn't a bad thing. The defense is very bad, but the bat is legit, the guy can flat out rake. Either they believe the defense can improve, he was an average defender in the minors, or they could move him to first. But if a deal were to get done, we'd be getting a lot more back obviously. Frazier was a top 20 prospect and the bat speed is legit, he just needs a chance to play everyday. They also have pitchers like garcia, domingo german, Jordan montgomery. Then you have other players who could be involved like relief pitchers like Kahn or position players Like Jason Dominguez, Florial, Mike Ford, etc. All those players have either had big league success or are highly regarded in the minors. You have to assume we'd get at least 3 or 4 of those guys. If you get 3 or 4 guys that would be above average regulars, and I believe Andujar can be an all star, for a relief pitcher, even one as good as hader, I believe it's a good trade imo. I just like a lot of the guys we could realistically get back from the Yankees.
  3. If this trade is offered to you, I'd do it in a heart beat no questions asked. You're getting back a dominant pitcher and an all star ss with kdaddy who has to work on a lot of things. But, with the rumors about what the dodgers are supposidly offering there is no way the Indians take this.
  4. According to Jose F. Rivera the brewers are close to an agreement with Avisail Garcia. Idk who that is but he's a verified on twitter and followed by big baseball people, so take this for what it is.
  5. Refering to the Yankees trade idea: You do this trade in a heart beat. Hader is amazing! But you dont build around a relief pitcher. If a team comes to you and offers you 3 guys who have all star potential, you take it. We just need 1 of those guys to pan out for it to be a good trade. A 3b/1b, of, and a sp all have more value than a rp in my oppinion. 2 of the 3 have shown they can hit in the bigs and would help us now.
  6. Yes its clear the Yankees would like to add Hader. The problem is they don't have the pieces to match Hader's value without giving up a piece of their super team. I don't think thats true. If the Yankees came out and offered us a package of frazier, andujar Deivi Garcia you wouldn't do it? Those are all pieces that they can afford to get rid of, and they are all pieces that could have a huge impact for us next year. If I were Stearns, that wouldn't even register on my radar as a trade for the best RP in baseball whys that? People seem to overvalue Hader a tad bit. Yes he's the best rp in baseball, but that's just it he's a rp. You can't build a team around a relief pitcher. If you're getting back 3 players with all star potential, I think that's a pretty solid deal but that's just my opinion.

  8. There's already been rumors that he'll get a contract worth 100m. It's from bob, so take that as you may. He has a big market right now though so he, wont be cheap. But we've been asking that we spend big on a pitcher for years now. If we get him, we're banking on the name and that he can produce like he did a few years ago and tbh I'm all for it.
  9. this is a great trade. cheap, controlable, didn't give up much and can hit
  10. Alright, so there is a good chance I may get some hate from some people here....but the offense I dont think is as bad as people think. Cf: Cain (Cain was hurt last year and tried to play threw it. Also had a high hard hit % so he had a lot of bad luck. Wont be suprised if he hits 280 with a 350 obp) SS: Luis Urius (He wont bat 2 right away. But had very minimal at bats, and was already better than arcia. He lives up to his hype he's a 300 hitter. But this year I can see hi hitting 270 with also a 350 obp if he's playing everyday. RF: Yeli (He's okay I guess. But if we bat him 3, and 2 guys have a 350 obp he's going to have lot of runners on to do his thing. 2b Kdaddy (he's going to be up for a full year....who knows what he'll do. Would anyone be suprised if he already hit 30 hrs and hit 300? he's great insurance behind yeli) Lf Braun (had a very underated year last year) 3b: Mcneil, Kendrick, Frazier, Asdrubal Cabrera, Didi maybe? 1b: Cron, thames, dom smith, Moreland, Smoak C Pina (can hit 230-240 which I'll take from an 8 hitter, but he provides great defense) Jason castro: 1 year 4 mil That's going to be a very solid platoon with good defense The only holes we have are 1st and 3rd on offense. But there are lots of cheap, but productive options that I would take for 6 and 7 hitters. But what if the mets do offer Mcneil and dom smith for a package around Hader? My point being the offense isn't terrible and I'm sure they'll add some talent there that we'll be productive. That being said we have money to spend on pitching. What if we do out and Sign a Keuchel for 15 mil? Also, Make a trade for Robbie Ray. I don't think he'll command turang Woody Keuchel Ray houser Laur Obviously this is all best case scenario imo...but I beleive the payroll would be below the 122 we had at the start of last year so we'll see. Stearns is going to be creative to fill our needs, so even if we do want to cut payroll im donfident we'll find production and be competitive next year.
  11. I could see the Dodgers getting desperate. How does an offer of Dustin May and Alex Verdugo sound? To much or to little? Dodgers have tons of of's and they get the best releiver in the game without lux. This leaves us with money to go out and sign Wheeler or sombody of that caliber. All of a sudden we have a rotation that consist of Woody, wheeler and may.
  12. IMO Rendon is way out of Stearns' price range. He's likely going to get Cole type money. They'd be better off going for Moose and getting Wheeler (4-$80M) for about the same money. Unless it’s self imposed (which would be total bs) it is absolute fiction that anyone is out of the Brewers’ price range this offseason. Whether it’s a good idea is another thing. Rendon and Yelich would be the best 3-4 in baseball. I say do whatever it takes to get him because the window is now. It's not that they can't afford to do it, it's that they can't afford for that deal to go bad. Someone is going to give him a 7 year offer. If he signs with us for 7 years, awesome! But that deal will kind of limit us to what we can do in the future for upgrades, players getting raises, and it still doesn't solve our pitching problem. Plus, why not use that money to extend Yeli? I feel like your basicaly saying he's gone in 3 years if you sign Rendon. You never know with stearns though, but imo you could get moose, a huge pitching additon, and a 1b for less than what it'd take to get rendon.
  13. It's a good thought! But If a team like the dodgers or somebody wants him, they'll out bid us. Plus Lindor will be gone in 2 years anways so it's a big risk. Hopfully, we have a ss of the future now, and we can use turang and other prospects to go out and trade for a pitcher. Maybe Robbie Ray?
  14. We just fleeced the padres. If Urias can play a good ss and live to his potential, we have our middle infield for the next 6 years. But the best part is is now we don't need to go out and get a didi or another ss. This saves sooooo much money that they can use on pitching. Say hello to all the Zach Wheeler rumors. Corey Ray also has a path to the bigs IF he can have a good season in AAA.
  15. A lot of people talk about Omar's defense. Yes it's bad, but we also have pina to back him up. Omar is a perfect fit imo. - He's left handed and hit 22 hr's with seatle being his home ballpark. He could hit more at Miller Park - He'd be a good platoon for pina. Hit very well vs righties, but lefties he struggled pretty badly - He's projected to earn a little over 2 mil next year. Leaves lots of money to fix other holes on the team. - he's only 27 and has 3 years of control I think this could get done without giving up a ton. I think a deal with Corey Ray and Peyton Henry is something the Mariners would strongly consider and something I would do. I'm not worried about the defense with Pina being our backup.
  16. I just feel this is the year we get a big named starter. Obviously Not Cole or Stras, but one of the tier B pitchers. So here I go. Sign Mad Bum 3 years 50 mil Sign Wade Miley 2 years 10 mil Sign Didi 2 years 27 mil Sign moose 2 years 22 mil Sign Jason castro 1 year 4 mil Sign Nate Jones 1 year 4 mil I doubt this happens and it would put the Brewers payroll way over it's record from last year. This only works depending on how much they save from non tendering, and if they are okay with having a much higher payroll for one year before Brauns contract is up and before they have to start thinking about how to sign or trade Yeli. Yes, I know the likes of any of this actually happening is sooooooo small. They window is small, and Mark seems like he wants to win. He was willing to have the payroll go about 20 mil over what it ever was last year....maybe he'll be open to it again. Easy for me to say, it's not my money, but we'll see what we do. Still early.
  17. Our best option at this point is to just get a lefty platoon. Pina can hit lefties so if you get someone like castro who can hit righties well they'll be fine there. Then they can use their savings to go after a ss, sign moose, and sign a big name starter. Pina is at least servicable and valuable and a couple different ways.....arcia is not
  18. kc says no to this trade in a heartbeat
  19. Losing Grandal is a huge lose, but obviously it's still early in the offseason and we saved 18 mil and have lots of holes to fix. Based off of mlbtradrumors, didi will sign a deal worth an average of 14 mil (I feel that's high for him and he wont get 3 years) and Travis D,naud for an average of 7 mil. So, you're telling me we can aquire a solid catcher and a pretty good ss for not much more than Grandal signed. Didi has big time left handed power and plays good defense. Since he's a left handed hitter, it's very possible he can hit 30 homeruns this year if half his games at miller park. D'naud has shown that if he stays healthy, he can be productive. You're not asking him to play 140 games at catcher, but maybe 100 games from him and 62 from pina. That combo has a chance to be really productive. If we spent about 20 mil to get those 2 (give or take a few mil) that leaves us with about 20 mil left. That's enough to sign moose and and to make an okay pitching upgrade. But this isn't counting players being non-tendered and if our payroll is the same as last years, which I actually think it'll be more. Sorry for the long post. Losing Grandal sucks, but lets try to be somewhat optimistic. Lots of good Free agents out there and who knows what Mark and David have up their sleeves. They want to win and I don't think they want to wast the last 3 years of Yeli.
  20. While I'm just as upset as anyone we didn't get a big named pitcher, the prices were just to high so we got what we could. It's not like any of these guys have not had success or have potential to have success. Pomeranz has been good out of the bullpen, faria had a good rookie year and won the minor league pitcher of the year award I'm pretty sure, ray throws 100....you can't find those arms often and lyles had in era under 2 in 9 starts. AGuilar didn't really fit this team and who knows whatd dubon would do. Frankly, if those guys mentioned and the guys that aernt having as great of years (cain, shaw, chacine) and play like they can, we make the playoffs, but if they don't, a ace starting 1 good starting pitcher or a relief pitcher still wont get us to the playoffs if guys continue to underperform imo. Non of these guys have played for us yet, I can't be to upset until after the year. Lets see what they can do.
  21. I feel like Shaw will be decent over there, if anything, he can't be worse than the defense that salidino, miller, and villar bring to the position. He may lack the range but we've had much worse in the past. I'd just give him a week to get confortable over there and the offense that he will bring to the position will be well worth it. We got a lot better with this trade in my oppinion
  22. I don't think Manny is going to sign long term with us but here me out. Next year we have roughly 67 mil on the books, we have a lot of pre arbitration players and then players like davies and santana who have been struggling and won't get much of a pay raise. Our payroll could be around 90 mil still and Attanasio said he isn't scared to spend more money in the past due to the low payroll during the rebuild. Is it possible we could offer Many a contract in the 25-30 mil range. I don't think this is going to happen by any means but it's just a thought, you have know how much winning means to a player and if him and his family would enjoy it here.
  23. Brewers go all in Trade for Machado Trade for Degrom All this without getting Hiura BREWERS WIN 2018 WORLD SERIES
  24. I am inferring from your post that you are for a trade. But, if you look at what you wrote - the postseason being based on luck, should actually mean that you want to make the postseason as many times as possible, and not necessarily put all the eggs in the basket for any one year. You give yourselves more chances at the playoffs by keeping the years of cheap control of Hiura, Peralta..... Personally, I am torn on a big trade. I am leaning to trading for a Jody Mercer on the cheap and adding a bullpen arm if Albers doesn't come back to be Albers. You're not, you're setting yourself up for 3 pennet races. Plus what if hiura doesn't live up to the hype? Never know what you'll get out of prospects, look at Brinson
  25. Hiura, Burnes, Peralta, and Domingo is a lot to get rid of but that's probably a realistic price that the mets are going to ask for, and eventually, will receive from some team.
