  1. I can't really recall a weather game at Lambeau that was quite like this one. Not terribly cold, clear conditions just really windy to the point it actually benefited the visiting team's style more than the Packers.
  2. Good Lord cue the Benny Hill music.
  3. I'm generally in the same boat as you, as in it's just how they operate and it's clearly organizational, not just something Cash does. But, I watched Jomboy Media's breakdown video of this situation and I have to say, the statistics do not back up the decision to remove Blake Snell at that moment. At least as the video presents it, I can't say that I've done my own research so I'm kind of accepting that what is presented is true.
  4. I have a free year subscription to it for the same reason. It's a newer service so there's not a ton of original content yet. When scrolling the list of their included content I did see a fair amount of children's shows, I don't have kids so I didn't study them closely but there was one Charlie Brown special on there (The Great Pumpkin). There was also a Fraggle Rock show. Again, I didn't look that close. I've only watched one Apple TV+ original on it so far, Greyhound starring Tom Hanks, it's a WW2 movie where Hanks is a US captain on a destroyer escorting merchant supply ships across the Atlantic to protect them from German U-boats that are trying to sink them. It was a good solid movie I'd say 3.5 stars out of 5. Good action, perhaps a little light on character development outside of Hanks', it's pretty clear his role is where 99% of the focus went (which is understandable, he's Tom friggin Hanks after all) and the side characters remain fairly unexplored and two dimensional. Otherwise it's similar to Amazon Prime. Some content is included for free with the subscription but you can also rent or buy movies. I wouldn't pay for it because it's nowhere near as robust as Netflix or Amazon Prime at this point but since it's free there's no harm. It's easy enough to cancel so that you don't get charged when the year expires. If you don't even want to go that far and just skip the free trial you probably aren't missing much.
  5. Braun is also one of the few leaders in the clubhouse and that's a value that can't be measured in statistics. I think he's a little more vocal and a little more comfortable being a leader than Yelich at this point in each of their respective careers. Unless all the stuff I read about his effect on the rest of his teammates is only feel good journalistic fluff, but it feels like it has the ring of truth. I think he'd be worth keeping around another year at a modest salary.
  6. I agree with all this except the part about Grisham being expendable. Braun and Cain do not make anyone expendable at this point in their careers, and Ben Gamel doesn't make anyone expendable because he's Ben Gamel. Urias may be worth the price, but Grisham is greatly missed in our outfield and future OF. I think we'll be just fine. I didn't mean he was expendable in a throwaway trade, fortunately that wasn't the type of trade the Brewers made. Urias has the potential and past performance to be a significantly better player than Grisham all by himself. Urias has played close to 200 games more than Grisham in their careers so far and has close to 100 fewer strikeouts. I feel a lot better about replacing Arcia with that type of player than I am worried about finding someone to replace Grisham's numbers in the outfield.
  7. I understand feeling some buyers remorse, it's only natural. But evaluating this trade in a 60 game throw away season doesn't make much sense to me. Like Khris Davis and Nelson Cruz, the Brewers should be able to overcome the loss of Grisham even if he turns into a stud. Outfield is far from the most difficult position to acquire reasonably good value players. Going into this season the Brewers had Yelich, Cain, Braun and Gamel before deciding to sign Garcia. Grisham was expendable, getting a talented young SS and pitcher, both with years of control still feels like a win. I don't want to root for Grisham to play poorly just to further justify the trade. I hope he does well and has a successful, lucrative career.
  8. You say worst lineup, I think "send them against the Bucks and watch them win" like the G League Nets team did yesterday.
  9. Despite my earlier criticism (which was partially tongue in cheek) that seems fair.
  10. What is there to negotiate? It's a good idea, so just do it. This just seems way too logical and easy. No wonder they haven't done it. Of course, the issue as always is money. The billionaire owners are just too gosh darn poor to afford the two extra end of the bench players they'll have to pay for longer than they originally planned on.
  11. What is Counsell thinking hitting the guy with the best batting eye on the team in the leadoff spot? Doesn't he remember 2018?!?!? I feel like I should keep complaining about it so he doesn't go into a slump. (But I'm liking what I see. Just don't tell him I said so.)
  12. I have doubts 10% of all MLB players could put down a successful bunt 30% of the time. If they're going to shift you as excessively as the alignment against Smoak looked I'd think it would be worth putting in the practice time. They had a 4 man outfield, maybe 5, and 3B/SS were completely abandoned.
  13. You know they're cursed when even their hits with runners in scoring position can't get runs home.
  14. So that ground ball likely would have scored Braun, unless they don't play that shift in that situation. Edit: Double play might have been on the table though so who can say.
  15. My instinct was not to send him there but I don't know about Reynolds arm.
  16. Rather see him leading off than Sogard. I just don't understand why Sogard is batting there, Cain is better in every way. If we're essentially getting Arcia and Sogard batting one after the other let's just put them 8th and 9th rather than 9th and 1st. Sogard outhit Cain last season, right? It's not a slam dunk decision. Sogard is a lefty too. Cain was dealing with injuries. His 2nd half showed a rebound to his usual numbers. This isn't Sogard hate, I'm willing to see if he can be productive coming off a decent season last year, I just don't think lead off is his ideal spot in the order as his career OBP doesn't suggest he's the greatest option there.
  17. Ok, NOW I can approve of that Contraras HBP.
