  1. They could not put him directly in front of the press, which is what they've done for all other unvaccinated players. What if Rodgers doesn't comply and goes on his own as it seems was his preference? Are they going to physically restrain him?
  2. It's also dumb that Rodgers knew he wasn't vaccinated, and so did the team president and the GM, and they all decided that the rules agreed upon by the NFLPA didn't apply to Rodgers because he's a huge diva baby. I have heard it brought up/questioned whether the Packers have fined Rodgers for non-compliance, I doubt they have but it's a valid question. Also brought up is how do the Packers force him to mask up? They can't, unless you're suggesting they hold him down and forcibly put a mask on him which would be ridiculous. I think the Packers share blame but I also think they've been positioned between a rock and a hard place, especially with all the off season drama I would easily believe they chose a path of lesser resistance. I've also seen opinions posed why should it be a team's responsibility to fine a player for non-compliance of a league rule? The NFL fines players for other transgressions why is the league not responsible for enforcement of Covid guidelines? Take it out of the team's hands.
  3. It's kind of crazy to think there are people in their late 20's who have seen roughly 99% of Packers games with a HOF starting QB. (Matt Flynn, Scott Tolzien, Seneca Wallace, and Brett Hundley are the answer to the trivia question you are asking yourself right now) Try guessing all three QBs that started a game for the Packers in the year prior to Favre. Old Packers fans can probably get two of them...but there is a trickier #3. I had Majik and then was thinking Dilweg but that was two years prior. I won't spoil the other 2 names after I had to look it up.
  4. Right, other than A) Rodgers testing positive, hopefully symptoms are mild and his health isn't severely threatened, B) assuming he's fine, it has affected his availability to be on the field helping the team win, the worst part is that he wasn't upfront and honest about his status. He gambled he'd be ok and lost, now he's taking the hit for it and it looks worse than if he'd just taken the heat upfront. Although just saying that, he'd still be roasted even if he had been upfront so maybe he made the right decision about that anyway. Instead of a media firestorm twice he's only taking it once. Edit: I shouldn't call it the "right" decision but hopefully my point is understood even if I didn't say it well.
  5. If it turns out he was not vaccinated this whole time, and I think the door is more than open for that to be possible, there's a big difference between dodging the media with a not completely honest answer and straight out lying to the team. I think it's very likely the team knows and has known Rodgers' vaccination status from the start.
  6. Per Adam Schefter via Twitter: Titans’ RB Derrick Henry suffered a potentially season-ending foot injury during Sunday’s 34-31 win over Indianapolis, sources reported ESPN. Henry is undergoing an MRI today to determine the full extent of the damage. Big blow for the Titans.
  7. The “as many shots at the Postseason as possible” is the right approach. In baseball, more than any other professional sport, the regular season tells you who the true best teams are and the Postseason is a tournament where quite literally any of the participating teams can win it. This postseason, we're about to have an 88 win team be crowned champ. We had an 83 win team win it all in what, 2006? The wild card Nationals won it in 2019. Take as many shots as you can. Stay competitive year to year. Get in the tournament as often as possible. 100% agree. I do wonder how further playoff expansion might affect some of the randomness, will it continue to be just as random or will it stabilize the risk for the higher seeds chances?
  8. Couple weeks ago I traded Calvin Ridley, Darrel Williams, Kenneth Gainwell and a 1st round rookie draft pick for Josh Jacobs, Hunter Renfrow, and Dallas Goedert. I get 2 years of both Raiders players which was the upside, the guys I gave up aren't keepable (except for Gainwell but I didn't mind that). I'd never wish mental health issues on anyone but nevertheless I feel better about the timing of parting with Ridley because my WRs are struggling with staying healthy and available, so giving up Ridley was the big risk for me.
  9. Out of my survivor pool thanks to the Bengals. Apparently the Jets have been starting the wrong QB this whole time.
  10. I'd probably do it in your shoes, you still have good coverage at WR and Gibson gives you quality depth at RB and he's only 23. Moore is a stud too if anything is holding him back it's his QB situation, even that's not keeping him from having a solid floor.
  11. The chief export of Matt Arnold is pain.
  12. If the rumors about the team offering Rodgers a legit long term extension before the season are true I'd hope that is one of the big reasons Rodgers has been so positive and happy this season, talking about having fun and saying it didn't feel like his last time playing in Chicago, presumably meaning as a Packer. I'm also not against trading Love, maybe in the offseason would make more sense but if they trade him sooner I'm ok with it. I want AR around for many more years and that's a bit of a turnaround from how I was feeling this offseason. This has been such a fun season I'd hate for it to all go away after it's over.
  13. Heck, I once paid $100 to get my name put into the credits of the Lord of the Rings Extended Edition DVD release of the movies back when they were still being filmed. Was it money well spent? Probably not, nobody cares that my name appears there except me, nobody will find it or really take note of it unless they have a lot of spare time on their hands. It's insignificant among the thousands of other names in the list. I think the full scroll from beginning to end takes somewhere between 20 to 30 minutes just with the people who also paid to have their name added. No sane person reads that unless they're looking for a specific name. I would argue people that give the Packers their money to own a piece of paper got more value than I did.
  14. It's certainly odd. How does a team even think to ask another club, "Hey, we realize you just exercised next year's option on your manager but can we just have him instead?" When you talk about tampering how does this not raise all sorts of red flags? Clearly the Padres would have to know if Melvin was even interested in managing for them. Unless the A's suddenly had buyers remorse and made it known to all the other teams their manager was available? Just very strange.
  15. I do think there's something to be said for getting that 1st championship. I would trade having to endure some down seasons for that 1st one, we've lived through it before. Thing is we don't have the Seligs anymore, this team under MA hasn't shown itself to settle for less than being legitimately competitive, at least not to me. Also, you can't get to a World Series without being in the playoffs. It's simple fact. Complaining about "settling for playoff appearances" is losers mentality, especially in baseball. When you make the playoffs in baseball you always have a chance to get to the World Series. It's happened time and time again, just not to us yet. Here we are with the Braves in there, they had the worst record of any playoff team going in and nobody was picking them to make it this far. Keep getting to the playoffs and I really think the Brewers will eventually break through.
  16. Huh? I have zero clue what you're talking about. They win with an incredible INT when things looked dire, on a short week, playing on the road against a great opponent while missing several All Pros. Your reaction in the immediate aftermath is to chirp about execution. That's what I'm talking about. Can't some of you just be nothing but thrilled for a minute? Sorry but you are making everything up in your head. I'd recommend trying to enjoy the win without looking for people to snipe at. Also, you must have missed this reaction in "the immediate aftermath": [ quote=SeaBass]WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO And this one: [ quote=SeaBass]I think I just woke up everyone in my apartment building.
  17. Couldn't agree more, of all the injuries I want the offensive line back fully healthy the most. They've been good enough moving guys around but the offense should take off if they're playing their preferred starters.
  18. An interception in the endzone is absolutely a bailout but that doesn't mean I didn't thoroughly enjoy the game. It was a great game and I'd maintain it was great even had the Packers lost. But the team does deserve criticism for failing to put the game out of reach.
  19. That's your takeaway? Wow, seems like a misearable way to be a fan. Huh? I have zero clue what you're talking about.
  20. Heck of a bailout by the defense. Terrible execution inside the opponents 5 yard line in multiple instances is inexcusable.
  21. I think I just woke up everyone in my apartment building.
  22. Because they're still winning. I meant more about that individual 3rd down play hoping the defense gets the big stop. Haven't given up on the game.
  23. Why do I get my hopes up?
