  1. What if the new rumored restructured deal is because the Packers may hold on to Rodgers for this season and the next? Dropping the last year makes a bit of sense then to appease Rodgers, then he gets to enter free agency the same way Brady did. Yes keeping Rodgers for 2 more seasons messes up the Jordan Love situation but the Packers are well past having to swallow the blame for that one.
  2. Possibly. It certainly puts the onus on the acquiring team to renegotiate/extend his contract, which likely would have been a prerequisite of a trade anyway. As everyone has been saying, a team wouldn't trade for him unless he wanted to be there.
  3. He was right about there being a rift between Rodgers and the Packers, if it had ended there I don't think there would be so many people upset with him. He chose to put his own spin on the story. He has been injecting his opinion in a way that made it sound like it wasn't his opinion but was instead factual, mainly in saying the big takeaway from his breaking news was that Aaron Rodgers had played his last game for the Packers. I think up until this point (and it's entirely possible I'm wrong because maybe I hadn't noticed him do this before since this instance was a huge story about the team that I follow) his reputation was pretty rock solid in that he would leak information that came from a source, he would report on it and events would transpire in the way he described. For whatever reason he decided this was going to be his time to shine at the expense of the Packers organization. ESPN's schtick ever since the news broke was how terribly the Packers have treated Rodgers and that they don't have any choice except to trade him because "Aaron has all the leverage." Which was a bunch of garbage because that's not how contracts work in the NFL. Schefter has been right there participating with everyone else at ESPN pushing this narrative, in fact he was often treated as the home run hitter in these types of segments because he's the insider with all the info. He didn't hold back on what he adamantly believed was going to happen, which was as I stated in the paragraph above. It's fine if Schefter has decided to shift his career to be an opinion based guy but when he had the reputation he did saying all that stuff gave it so much more credibility than the average talking head. He yelled FIRE but only because he was standing there with the match.
  4. Schefter is on record saying nobody leaked it to him, it was stuff that was out there since the season ended, he did the math on his own and decided to send it out to the masses as fact. He's been loudly standing by his statement that Rodgers will definitely not show up to play for the Packers this season as recently as earlier this month. So yeah, I blame him.
  5. Adam Schefter's fall from grace as a respectable reporter should be complete once Rodgers officially shows up for camp.
  6. I might be the only one that doesn't want Max, due to the cost. I'd rather go big for Freeman. You are not the only one. My feeling on Freeman is he won't be traded. If he wants to resign with ATL I don't think he'd want a 2 month blip where he wasn't a Brave at the end of his career.
  7. I understand this, I'm not sure I 100% agree, but there is definitely something to it. The Packers have had bad breaks not go their way. That's sports. Championship teams have the breaks go their way, the Bucks are an example of that. 2014, last season, those felt like Super Bowl teams, they just didn't get there. I don't think it's because of some flaw of the team, they just didn't make it happen and things didn't go their way. But back to the fatigue comment, for me it's not fatigue but I find myself eager for the next incarnation of what the Packers will be. Maybe that's a feeling I will come to regret and I'm not even saying I think Jordan Love is going to be the answer. If it was my choice we wouldn't be going through the Rodgers drama, we'd be playing with him under center until he retires but that ship has sailed. I have this weird excitement for what's going to happen next, it could be awful but I'm hoping it's not.
  8. I can see a side where, if the franchise is moving on from Rodgers this season or next as it's looking like, sinking tons of money in a wide receiver approaching his 30's might not be the best use of resources. I love Davante, I want him signed, but I can also see a soft rebuild as a possibility. Maybe they franchise tag him and trade him, or tag him and play him. I guess what I'm saying is I'm not going to overreact to the possibility of losing him.
  9. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Milwaukee Bronze Fonzies.
  10. I finally figured out what this art style was reminding me of, the cringey hand drawings from Napoleon Dynamite.
  11. I've brought him up before but Kendall Graveman feels like a lower budget move that makes a lot of sense. He's having a great season but prior to this his career as a starter was mediocre to bad, so he doesn't have the longevity of great performance to drive his price too high. I could be wrong about that, the Mariners are in a position to ask for nice pieces in return so it's not a slam dunk either. Stearns might have more under the radar type guys in mind.
  12. Eh, I don't think the Guardians name flows real great right now but give it time I guess. The logo is... something.
  13. I would explore moving Lopez but I'm not sure there's really even much of a market for him and would the return make an impact equal to what Lopez already provides? The Bucks have a trade exception that's worth a little over $4 million and Lopez's salary is in the $13 million range so that's $17 - $18 million. I just think for the amount of time the Bucks played without Lopez on the floor his slot and salary might be better used elsewhere. They're just so limited by the cap as to what they can do. I'm interested to see what moves Horst makes because I don't think they can just run it back and expect the same results. The big 3 are locks after that who knows?
  14. Suter is already an iffy choice, then you make him try to get 5 outs... yeesh
  15. I was about to be upset about Keller looking like Cy Young but while he's having a bad season this year he doesn't look nearly as bad when looking at past seasons. He's certainly had a better career than Lauer. Still frustrating to struggle with him so far on a down season.
  16. I wonder if he has overestimated the fan reaction or at least if he did it was earlier on but his reluctance to be seen in Wisconsin speaks volumes, I don't think he wants to hear any boos. He was conspicuously NOT attending any of the Bucks playoff games, publicly at least, who can say if he may have been there behind the scenes but I doubt it, someone would have seen him and reported it. How ironic that his cowardice on that front cost him being able to enjoy the Bucks championship run in person.
  17. Piss on the Nets We did and it'd be a pleasure to watch it happen again next season!
  18. There was a point a few weeks back when things looked so bleak vs. the Nets that I thought the 2001 team was better than this one. Giannis stepped up and showed me how foolish a thought that was. What an unbelievable, incredible, fantastic performance that honestly I didn't see coming and I expected a lot. Giannis was super human this series. He leveled up and matured before our eyes. What a phenomenal player and person. Couldn't be more proud to have him represent this franchise, city and state.
  19. Thank you, Giannis. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
  20. Milwaukee is actually going to have it's own championship and I'm alive to see it. Just incredible.
  21. It's really going to happen isn't it?
  22. [sarcasm]That reminds me, has the Tim Thomas contract come off the books yet?[/sarcasm]
  23. Sounds suspiciously like something HH19 would say! Aren't we all High Heat? I'm Spartacus!
