  1. Switch hitter was up and lefty was scheduled to come up. Now righty PH coming and Hader is out. Solid strategy.
  2. We’ve got a problem. And it’s name is Josh Hader, ladies and gentlemen. That is a potentially fatal flaw.
  3. Questionable strike zone again. Rock and BA said earlier this is a well-respected ump. I don’t see what the fuss is about.
  4. He threw some in the bullpen last night, and got used a lot earlier in the year. He may even have an extra tick on the fastball tonight. My concern-o-meter is at 2.
  5. Thanks, Clint! Could you at least have that pitcher bean some of the Cubs sluggers, you know, for consistency?
  6. Nice situation for Hader, who needs a little bounce back. Bottom of the order, then lefty Carpenter. Go get ‘em, kid.
  7. He had a fine game last night, was facing one of the best righty relievers in the league there, and hit the ball hard. Reports of his demise are exaggerated.
  8. He’s getting the Barry Bonds treatment. Guess the Cards are finally getting wise.
  9. Any team in a one game playoff is scary...not, "Kershaw...making my death bed scary" but scary. It is such a crapshoot. Even a 5-7 game series is woefully random. I get not wanting to face Kershaw, but lets not forget that he has been very average in playoff games. Career 4.35 ERA in postseason, and definitely prone to clunkers in October, too. I certainly wouldn’t consider him a death sentence in a one-game elimination.
  10. You guys, I am so jacked right now. Between these late games and the excitement, I’m hardly sleeping, but I feel totally wired. It’s only 11:15 am!? I’m trying to remind myself that winning streaks are hard, the Brewers almost never sweep teams, a few days ago I would have been thrilled winning 2 of 3 in St. Louis, winning 3 of the next 4 is still a .750 percentage... but I can’t rationalize this. Losing another game this week would feel like a massive disappointment. It’s like the Cardinals are on life support and the Cubs broke an ankle and the Crew is reaching a dead sprint. It’s almost right in front of them!
