  1. suter delivered. He is the best #4 we have right now and with our closer back all we need are 5 good or decent innings. We are young and if we get to the playoffs this year then we will contend for the next 5 years. Its goin to be a fun year and if we are competing, we will prolly pick up a player later in the year. First priority is a #1 pitcher.
  2. For a team that cant buy a hit, it may be a good idea to play your hot bats like Aguliar more than every other game. But if we are down by 9 with 1 out remaining then dont put him in to help him pass contract hurdles.
  3. let him pass by waivers and pick him back up and stick him at double A to get back in his groove.
  4. i cant imagine stearns is to thrilled with sogard still in the lineup. I disagree with the one poster who said we need to leave him in and allow him to get back up to his par. First off, his par is a lousy .245 anyways but we arent dealing with a situation where he is batting bogey or double bogey. The situation is that after his next at bat he wont even be hitting .100. Why spend millions on yellich and cain if our 6th batter is sogart? We can have Aaron Judge but it wouldnt matter if 6,7,8,9 are awful.
  5. man, i hope thats not the case that we use divisional games for one player to take batting practice to get above the .100 mark. He has only had 1 hit in his last 15 games. But he batted 6th which is unimaginable. And I guess we used the last out so aguliar can get in some practice. This team should be playing better. yea we got 20 wins but 14 of them are to last place teams. I think we will be fine and we should be able to start stringing hits together but if we want to do more than flirt with a playoff spot then we need to pick up a #1 pitcher. The good news is that the cards and cubs and pirates have their issues as well but we arent likely to win many games if our manager keeps dabbling by starting sogurd and giving him a spot ahead of #8th spot. Cmon maaaannn
  6. Thames got a bunch of days off as well. I know they wanna give Santana his games and put Braun at first but when thames comes back id like to see him a bit more. Then again Aguilar is our hottest bat. Bottom line, i can understand splitting time with these bats but i cant comprehend why sogurd is even on the team, much less starting alot while sitting V or A. At any rate, we havent fared to well against any team not in last place.
  7. ill never undsrstand giving multiple players the day off when divisional rivals come in. Braun, Villar. Sogard is really poor and he starts alot. When he doesnt start, he still finds a way to PH and play. Do we have the depth to dabble with playin our bench players?
  8. i just started following the brewers and i cant believe how the manager gives so many off days to players. Hopefully, everyone is rested up and Aguliar playing is a must.
  9. i wouldnt give up arcia unless we signed machada for a few years....and that wont happen. Arcia is progressing and will be incredible in a short time. More likely would be to get machado in August.....pay handsomely for the rest of the year but im sure we will have to wait in line. True, ws are weak, currently, with a young ss but we can always use a catcher as well. One thing is clear, we are close to prime time but as the cubs series proved, we arent ready yet. So, if we want to get past the wc we will have to address ss or catcher. Unless we develop just as quick this year as last year.
  10. since we have an overztock at firzt base, offer Thames for Mejia. Cleveland has to pull the trigger on that cuz they could use a monster power hitting Lefty like thames over alonzo. And we dont utilize Thames as he barely starts (not sure why). To be sure, i love thames but he is on our bench every 2nd game unexplicably so we should move him and get a top C prospect since i think we are 1 year away from serious world series contention, however, this is clevelands last year inside a world series window before they lose allen, miller and carrasco. Plus, indians have a stud AA catcher as well moving up the charts in Haase sp?. basically we have an overabundance at first base with braun, thames, aguliar. Plus, although i think we are playoff bound, we are a couple players away from world series contention. Mejia for Braun? cleveland can use an outfielder/First guy. We can use another solid young guy like mejia who would be phenomenal C.
  11. need a decent catcher.
  12. our offense will b fine. Obviously it was a blow to lose thames but he only started every 3rd game.
  13. really? its only April. I feel pretty good about this team. It is going to be fine. The pitching is super and a surprise. The runs will be there. Just have to quit putting the ball in drakez hand or sogard when game is on the line.
  14. How does Sogard get to bat as a PH off the bench when the games are on the line? Never mind start. He is a veteran of 6-8 years so it's not like he is going to get better. What you see is what you get. Don't we have anyone in the minors? At any rate, we got a great team, just gotta flush this series. Awful. Just aren't ready for primetime yet. Choked
  15. I just find it odd that we rested 2 starters in each of the first 3 games. Do we have the firepower to rest 2 from the upper half of the order? If our guys need rest then maybe rest them against the Reds coming up. And all of us knew what was going to happen in a tight one run game when he put Drake in there. Game over. Has Hader even seen the Cubs in this series? Strange. But, at the end of the day and series, we have our best lineup in there today and we still can't hit the ball. And we are really playing soft on defense. If Yellish is aggressive then Rizzo gets caught at 3rd by Shaw since Rizzo didn't even bother sliding. This whole series is mental. Can't believe some poor pitchers are shutting us out. Still 2 innings left in this series, hopefully Santana can do something.
  16. I was questioning why we were resting 2 starters in each of the first 3 games but I guess it really doesn't matter. Chatwood isn't that great today but we simply can't buy a hit and seem to be playing with our heads down like we are already beaten. Another soft throw to 3rd base could have nabbed the non sliding Rizzo but we just aren't aggressive. Time to flush the series and beat up on the reds again. Go Brew Crew!
