im almost certain he will be a brewer. Consider this hearsay though. Im not an insider nor trying to one up anyone. I hope you are correct in this! I want to believe it because I think this is exciting. Imo, the orioles want CB and will get him Thats just opinion but its a high price....but this isnt the time to be cheap I think we will be in great shape. If the brewers snatch him without giving up CB then that would be a poker play. Play Ball!

That has been the path of each world series over the past couple years, ie., rentals. Ask the Cubs. Without Chapman, they dont go to the series. Cubs farm system isnt as great now but they got a ring. Unless we get a controllable player before the august 30 deadline like the American league has done the last few years (verlander, or miller, but that Miller cost #1 prospect as well in frazier). It is simply too late in august for us to have had a chance, we had to give up CB otherwise half our team is on DL with no equalizer to fill the glaring gap. Thames and Villar dl forced this deal. Are you saying you know Burnes is in the deal? no. i dont "know" anything

im pretty sure we got him. I know everything saying phillies but i think it just happened a couple hours ago and im sure it wasnt cheap if we did close the deal. Prolly kiss CB goodbye but this was never about being cheap.

This is where I'm at as well. At this hour, I don't. I just don't think he puts us over the top, I think we still need quite a bit to be a legit contender. But the thought of sitting in Miller Park in August/Sept with Machado in a pennant race is hard not to get excited about. Without Machado, we are at least a wildcard team with equal chances to get to the ws. The parity in the NL is truly amazing. I think Machado, without starting pitcher help is going to put us in the ws. Not sure if Machado would help us pull even with the yanks, redsox or astros to win the series but our lineup at least would look good: thames cain yelish aquillar Machado Shaw Braun (dh) Miller Pina

I really didn't get that vibe at all. He wasn't even a board member during the HH19 incidents. look, i have no idea what HH19 is. Im not here to cause trouble. Im a sth in 215. I wear my pennebaker brewer jersey (Mr 3000 character) I apologize, my bad then. I hope your info is correct...May I ask, did you hear this first hand?? Like in person?? Did you see it on an Indians message board?? How was the info obtained?? my nephew knowing im a brewer fan sent it to me from one of the tribes FB groups (prolly something similar to this site) where "supposedly" the guy who runs the site has credibility. All i got was a screenshot.

I have reason to think its true. If its true then i suspect it will be further leaked soon enuf. The mods can take it down, im cool with that, didnt know it would cause a mess on the "Rumor" thread. Everyone is constantlmy wiping their hands off, need a new ball every pitch, batter calling time to wipe his bat off and bring of helmet. I mean seriously? Why were we rushing to play and why did the umpire not call it? After that near wild pitch it should have been stopped. Clearly his pitches was being effected to the point he couldn’t even pitch anymore. Yet, play on? Had there been no pitching change, maybe the rains don't factor? lol This is fun, but it's true. Had Counsell left Williams to finish it off, the delay of getting the new pitcher in the game might have allowed it to end, by Willaims, before the rains came that hard. Sometimes CC is a bonehead....but very few times. This last few losses are the result of players not doing the job they are being paid to do. If any coach was to be blamed then blame or fire the batting coach.

I don' think they are defeated, just lack confidence. And we do really really bad against some mediocre teams while doing quite well against solid teams [d backs, braves] We need our division though. Cubs gained ground and blew by us at 1.5 games ahead now. At any rate, too many holes to compete with yanks, Redsox, Astros if we get that far. I always do a slight chuckle when someone has a post that lists him in our strong pitching depth. Like you would want that guy anywhere hear your 25 man roster. Wilerson gotta be over 10. Given the situation, what choice does Counsell have? At any rate, this crap show in Pit has a silver lining as Counsell is forcing Stearns hand on Machado or Escobar + Dozier. Bases loaded.....Villar....another so. Trade arcia, burns, broxton. I'm off the trade for Machado bandwagon now. Machado alone is not going to fix everything that ails this team, nor is any other stud on the trading block be it a pitcher or position player. No need to give up prospects anymore.This team needs a leader. Not sure who we are getting but we will be giving up prospects for a controllable player, if not Machado.

Cain, Yelich, Saladino and Aguilar should all sit out tomorrow. Not even kidding about this. I agree. That will make a strong statement, albeit not as subtle as Counsells other statements, to Stears. Lets keep pitching this Wilkerson stiff and bring back that other stiff Zski. And lets just leave hader and others on the bench so Pit can expand leads. Cubs gotta smell blood. We are dropping bad but hopefully we dont freefall like the Dbacks as we snag machado or escobar + someone.

I agree. To clarify my point, the addition of two all-stars was supposed to fix what ailed this lineup, it hasn't. Now folks want to use more assets to acquire yet another all-star to take another stab at "fixing" the offense. How many all-stars are we going to need to acquire before the offense is actually good? Even if they could do that, the pitching still wouldn't be good enough and we are seeing that now. Do we deploy even more assets to fix the pitching as well? We obviously don't have the assets to do that which begs the question, why make any significant moves at that point? Starting pitching may not be our biggest weakness, but it is a weakness. This is why I think the guy in charge of hitting needs to be held at least partially culpable at some point. We made significant changes in the offseason intended to fix this offense, and we're still sitting at square one. Yes, this offense has weaknesses but going out and either trading for or spending 16M a year on a stud for every position isn't realistic. Coles has run his course. that was obvious last year when we broke our own mlb for so. We can get 8 or 9 hits a game but we continue to fan so we strand batters. Not having Coles couldnt be worse.

Perez shouldn't be hitting cleanup for a AAA team. No kidding but the only other choice is Miller since Aguilar was given a rest game. Team has lost confidence and is free falling against stiff pitchers like the Dbacks did earlier in the year. Hopefully, we can right this ship while there is time. Broxton, Orf, and Villar will get it going.

Ouch! Thames is showing in the lineup for game 2. At any rate, Aguilar is being given a rest in game one so looks like Chase is going to have to deliver as a batter as well. Our lineup is awful for game 1. With braun, agauliar, thames not playing i cant think of any other bat to call up since Santana is still reeling. I guess orf was our only option.

Give me a break! Lose a couple games and you fair weather fans think the sky is falling. A few are even blaming yelish. We are fine. There are no overpowering teams in the NL as there is parity. The pirates, the reds.....are good teams and can beat any team. Miami not so good. We will be fine.
