he is a great manager. Granted, Williams is a year away from doing decent against top hitters but with fat albers sidelined im not sure he has any other choices in the 4th inning. I mean, Woodruff isnt great either but both are better than that one guy Zski who coughed up 2 games and had a 20.0 era. Another guy stinks az well we need SP that can get thru the order 3 times.

Not an especially encouraging thing with 60+ games left. I think we finish 20 games over .500. I think that is reasonable given the schedule. 4 games over in august and september. Thats if we get healthy. We cant keep playing musical chairs with nics and bruises. And if we make a move then thats a plus. Id prefer we hold steady and keep our farm the way it is without a rental

Easy prediction. Although we have been shutout more than any other team, slightly less well known is that we have more victories against former Cy Young winners than all other teams. Kershaw Kluber Greinke Arietta twice but toss in a no name with a 6.0 era and our goose is cooked.

We will definitely revisit the Hader debate during the first time he appears in a road game thats true. I think Hader will embrace it and ying yang it back in the form of strikeouts, which will be good therapy for the opposing fans as they deal with their unwarrented anger. Sad.

lol. At this point i would hope that we wouldnt get a rental but get someone we can control. A rental may get us to the wc but we need to focus on next year. Btw, how does our hitting coach have so much job security? My gosh!

It's almost as if managers shouldn't be punting away games using their 8th best reliever for his second inning of work with everyone fresh and only a one run deficit. We use alphabet pitching. Williams was up then Woodruff. Everything will cycle back to Barnes being next up today. Otherwise, in a tight game, i have no answer why we put woodruff in unless we really dont care. stick a fork in us, season over. Doesnt appear we will win many more games. Not trading CB for MM was the end.

thats enough to beat us since we only have a starting lineup that goes 4 deep. Obviously DS knows this. They just cant put a playoff product on the field. Fun while it lasted. Gettin ready for football. Tired of watching a team that refuses to fire a pitching coach whose hitters set new yearly SO records. Why would they fire their pitching coach when they set a record for striking out offensively? How odd. Go watch old Packer tapes then, we baseball fans will be just fine without you. meant hitting coach. At any rate, just checked the box and we have a ton more Ks. Even a good job by miley cant save us. Gotta score runs. This isnt soccer. Looks like DS playing for next year.

LOL, 7 games? Find me one hitter who hasn't had a seven game stretch like that. agreed but the last 7 games he was brutal. Certainly hasnt provided much of anything during this streak.

Is this about the third stretch now where folks were talking about Aguilar falling back to earth? I don't understand this either... Is he supposed to hit a 3 run homer every night, go 3 for 4 and provide our only run support? If not, is he falling back to earth? Just ridiculous. last 7 games: 1 homerun BA .217. Alot of Ks. I was glad Counsell gave the big man a few games off to try to restart the big man instead of chasing outside sliders. Hopefully he is refreshed now.

I don't even understand his existence on the roster so I'm probably not a good judge of why he is starting the first game out of the break. Maybe the just want to make sure he really does suck and don't want to wait until later in the week for that determination. we should have figured out who sucks during spring training but we are still flittering with the starting pitcher lineup to see if we need to make a trade. I cant logical come up with any reason why Miley starts after the asg unless he is part of a package for someone else. Because he hasnt been good for about 4 years now.

half the team on DL, and Aguilar falling back to Earth most likely means runs will be very hard to come by for the forseeable future. I just cant see a journeyman like Miley limiting the dodgers. For that reason, Im not coming up for the game. Miley will have to be almost perfect. Im not saying we are bad but its gonna be a blowout tonight. Ugly Pennebaker 21

my hope is that we can continue some dominance of that division. I hate the dodgers almost as much as the Cubs and yankees.

I know there are holes, but is there really that much urgency? This team was 18 over up until a week and a half ago. Despite a bad week, the team does all of a sudden suck. i know bro...that road trip killed me. At this point, i need a victory, as a fan. What seems strange is that we cant hit bad pitchers but we do better against good pitchers. This beer is for us to smack kershaw. Im just otherwise pessimmestic about coughing up homers. Cheers!

In simplest terms, we are burning daylight and need to get some deals pronto. If we can split with the dodgers then we can buy some time but we seem to be falling apart at the seams.

i was shocked at mlb announcing a certainty with the dodgers. Shocked because im a nobody, and they have all the conx. I still think he is a brewer though even though all reports have the papers getting signed with the dodgers.

First off can we agree not all “rentals” are equal? Machado is not your average mlb player. People should focus more on who the player is. Instead all some focus on is the fact that his contract is up after this year. Additionally, just because Machado would have been a rental doesn’t automatically make it a bad deal. CC Sabathia was a rental. How many people are complaining about that trade? It all depends on who you give up for him and even then it’ll take years to know how good of a trade it turned out to be. I don’t think anyone would have argued we should have traded Hiura and Burnes to get Machado. But we do have some decent talent that, in all honestly, probably won’t make an impact at the major league level. So trading those guys, while it may hurt our system ranking, really wouldn’t have much of an effect on the franchise. I don’t know what was offered to get Machado. But I’d have been perfectly ok moving the Woodruffs, the Gatewoods, the Laras, the Diplans or the Ponces of the system to get him. if the dodgers did get machado then they will become the NL WS team. If the brewers didnt step up then its hard to see where we fit in with the 2018 playoff seen. We are only 1 game from being out of the WC spot but our bullpen is worn out since our starting pitching cant go thru a lineup 3 times. It might be time to think about 2019. Shore up the team with a controllable Ace like Defrom but im not sure a starting pitcher rental helps us.

I think he should be suspended. If it's 3 days or 30 days, it doesn't really matter to me. Otherwise it sends a message to minority groups that MLB is tolerant to players with a history of bigotry. Suspend somebody for things they said 7 years ago as a minor, before he was involved in baseball. Good thing you aren't making the decisions. +1

what he said was wrong, whether it was macho hate rap music or if he was a kid. But this should blow over in a couple days since his black teammates already came to support him. End of story.
