  1. I'm assuming he's going to steal home to win game 7 of the World Series the way this day has played out
  2. So basically we traded Nestor for Miller. That's really what it boils down to. Lockridge MIGHT get the added roster spot as a pinch runner weapon off the bench
  3. I'm actually hopeful for Miller. I do count him as an improvement in the pen and am glad they made a move to get better. Definitely would have liked to see more but my disappointment level has been lowered. When Miller returns he should be useful in the pen. Watching Monasterio step up to the plate in a key situation is going to drive me to the verge of insanity however.
  4. Montgomery won't pitch an inning for us and is a free agent as season's end so he must have been included to dump remaining salary and make the Brewers return to Arizona next to nothing for Miller
  5. Go Brewers! Let's go win it all with what we got. But an ugly end from here on out deserves massive criticism if that winds up being the case.
  6. Imagine a forum where a moderator tells someone they should stop posting because they mildly state disappointment. I mean what are we doing here?
  7. What makes you king of how people should feel? He didn't circumvent any filters or say anything that violates any rules. He posted a measured level of understandable disappoint. Everyone wasn't here posting in such volume because they thought it would be a day of nothing.
  8. ANSWER: It's never happened. Until today. Unless you count a salary dump, then the streak lives on.
  9. Hey @Bulldogboyare you saying that if the Brewers do nothing today they're guaranteed to collapse and have no chance to win it all? Are you saying that the Brewers have to make a huge deal to add a major piece at the top of the roster or we riot? I know I sure as heck am not. And I know you're not saying that either. So what's with all this strawman nonsense being posted here?
  10. I didn't know Vaughn made the Brewers roster unimprovable to the degree that they'd punt on the last day to make roster upgrades via the same avenue that every other current playoff team in their league did today
  11. And what if they do? What if scrap heap pickups Joc Pederson, Jorge Soler, Eddie Rosario, and Adam Duvall carry the fringe Braves all the way to a World Championship?
  12. Who wants to guess which franchise was the last MLB team holding the best record in baseball on deadline day to not make a single trade?
  13. Yep, it's an argument that no one is making. People see glaring holes on this team that there is zero excuse not to improve upon. No one is saying add major pieces no matter the cost
  14. Well I know you wouldn't argue that making acquisitions at the deadline is more harmful than good so what exactly is your point? The Braves and other teams in the past decade who have won it all, have shown that small improvements can make all the difference. There's no disadvantage the Brewers have today to prevent them from doing the same.
  15. No playoff series won since 2018 is precisely why fans should expect the Brewers to improve their roster in some fashion today
  16. Monasterio, Bauers, Siegler, and at least one bullpen spot are all zero argument spots we could upgrade at without mortgaging the future. Read that again. How could you justify not at least improving in one of these spots? It wouldn't cost anything dramatic and you'd be deepening your team. I'm not calling for a middle of the order hitter or a new closer. I don't see how a team that is positioned where the Brewers are wouldn't at least improve on any one of 4 very weak contributors.
  17. Look at what the Mets, Dodgers, Phillies, and Padres have done today? These are significant upgrades being made. The Brewers should be looking to hold on to the #1 seed. The post of mine you responded to didn't demand they match what these NL contenders have done. I'd settle for at least improving on the margins. Can you imagine dropping from the #1 spot at deadline into a road wild card series?
  18. Monasterio, Bauers, Siegler, and at least one bullpen spot are all zero argument spots we could upgrade at without mortgaging the future. If this next hour passes without anything after what has transpired around the league, fans should raise hell
  19. Vaughn's 5 game stint with Milwaukee already exceeds all but one full season with the White Sox in terms of WAR
  20. Todd Rosiak just put out a Tweet/X post saying Wilken hurt his knee celebrating the first half title. "Imaging showed inflammation/swelling. Extent of injury not conclusive at this time." Have to think it might be serious adding everything up
  21. I know nobody is ready to cement this one in the win category but the conversation sure has changed in a good way
  22. Aren't you the one who has already written off the Packers season before it's even started?
  23. I don't even think the Brewers planned on plugging him in for more than a few starts. I feel like the plan all along was to hope he could notch a quality start or two until healthy options return and they can fine tune and make tweaks with him in Nashville
  24. The guy isn't a prospect, isn't young, and isn't very good defensively. What are we doing here?
