  1. Just here to say that CBS has been money on this all year. I mentioned it once before here a month or two back. I'd look ahead sometimes 2 weeks on their site and they'd have Patrick on there well ahead of any announcement or his recall from AAA. I'd lay money on Gasser starting Sunday after seeing this Not just with Patrick either. They had both Logan Henderson and Tobias Myers as scheduled starters well in advance when everyone was still guessing too
  2. After your outlook early in training camp, the surprise would have been if you were now ready to anoint them
  3. They will in time. Right now he's the only one who the defense is gonna have to respect deep. I'm excited to see what they do with Golden later in the year when Watson is around to be the deep guy.
  4. Being down on Golden is particularly odd when he had his man beat twice for long TDs but was overthrown on one and underthrown on the other
  5. Golden is playing a role right now. Remember how Watson didn't come away from a game with many targets but would have an impact because defenses had to respect him deep? And how that opened up everything underneath? That's the role Golden is playing right now. It's a starting point, not a finishing point. The good news is that Golden will be soooo much more than that in time. Whereas it was what Watson might always be limited to. Which is fine because it's an important role in a LaFleur offense. Golden might have his role expanded as early as next week with Reed out. Patience
  6. Some people just have to find something to complain about apparently
  7. I'm fully aware of his numbers. I simply want the best collection of pitching talent out there come playoff time and I'd have Yoho (and others who probably won't make the cut) in there over him. 5 losses credited to Anderson don't help his case btw if we're going to make this a stat thing
  8. I really feel like Yoho with his adjustment on the rubber is a better major league pitcher than Grant Anderson. Hope the Brewers don't regret this one
  9. They traded Clark because Dallas insisted on him. The Packers weren't looking to move on from Clark and that was obvious by the structure of the contract he had for this year. Buuuut when you can get Micah Parsons if you're willing to include Clark, you do it every day and twice on Sunday and accept the sunk cost
  10. I still insist the author is trolling us. Have felt that way for years dating back to the prior username he went by. Not everyone who wants to write for the site has to be given the green light. Sorry, but it's my honest opinion that articles like this do the site a disservice.
  11. They've already talked about limiting Misiorowski and then the line drive off his leg helped slow his inning accumulation down. Woodruff they're trying to avoid pitching on 4 days rest. Priester has been much more shaky lately. And Peralta has been running up high pitch counts by the 5th inning. Just about everybody but Quintana sees a direct benefit from the extra rest.
  12. I'd certainly still call an extra starter a need. There is some clear fatigue and innings jump setting in for some of these guys. I could be wrong but I get the sense the Brewers want to give these guys 5 days between starts more often than not for awhile yet.
  13. Then they'd have to come up with another injury in order to re-summon Patrick, no? Perhaps the plan is to get around 4 innings out of Gasser and pair him with either Ashby or Myers come Friday?
  14. Finding an injury for Anderson allowed for the Myers return and now they'll have Easton McGee around for low leverage innings until Friday when a starter is needed again. Would presumably be Gasser unless another injury re-opens the door for Patrick
  15. Welp they found a way. The only shoe left to drop is swapping Easton McGee for Gasser come Friday
  16. Patrick goes back down after today for Myers and then Gasser starts Friday and comes up in place of Grant Anderson. That would be my guess
  17. I shudder at the thought of people lined up outside or inside my workplace yelling my name and asking for autographs everyday. It might be flattering the first time it happens but personally it would become a point of dread for me almost immediately. Point being everyone is different, with different personalities, and desire to interact with strangers. I actually look more poorly on those who don't take other's comfort zones into consideration and in turn expect these players to stop what they're doing and provide the autograph or even acknowledgement each and every time they are in a public setting. I find that expectation odd and unfair.
  18. And I did mine essentially as a "reverse jinx"... So even the "least optimistic" prediction wasn't really coming from someone who was down on the current state of the team
  19. Welp that's enough internet for today
  20. Yep, you definitely said it better than me. When it happens, remember I said it first though
  21. I'm assuming he's going to steal home to win game 7 of the World Series the way this day has played out
  22. So basically we traded Nestor for Miller. That's really what it boils down to. Lockridge MIGHT get the added roster spot as a pinch runner weapon off the bench
  23. I'm actually hopeful for Miller. I do count him as an improvement in the pen and am glad they made a move to get better. Definitely would have liked to see more but my disappointment level has been lowered. When Miller returns he should be useful in the pen. Watching Monasterio step up to the plate in a key situation is going to drive me to the verge of insanity however.
