  1. Marlins are trying to help the Crew out. Go Fish!
  2. I’ve been doing family stuff today and didn’t realize Cards v Cubs played early today. Your take is spot on. The division is essentially out of play now, so it’s time to root for the Cards to keep beating the Cubs until they are eliminated. Happy to see that the Mets lost as well. Things are looking bright in playoff land!
  3. Diaz must hate Marvel. First the kid can’t decide to actually pitch, and then when he does he throws the ball away and hurts Diaz in the process. Knocked him out of the game. Crazy! If I’m Marvel, I avoid Diaz for a long time.
  4. I hate to say it, but at this point I don't see how you cannot root for the Cards to win out vs the Cubs. The odds of winning the division are so small and I want as much of a buffer as possible to ensure we make it into the Playoffs. This is the rational thing to root for - the Cubs getting demolished. It’s the Brewers’ easiest way, statistically, to ensure a playoff berth. I understand the desire to win the division, but it’s a long shot, and if the Cubs win a lot that increases the chance that the Brewers miss the playoffs altogether.
  5. I hate to say it, but at this point I don't see how you cannot root for the Cards to win out vs the Cubs. The odds of winning the division are so small and I want as much of a buffer as possible to ensure we make it into the Playoffs. I completely agree and stated so on a previous post on this board. At this point, the most rational rooting interest is for the Cubs to lose as much as possible. That is the Crew's best chance at a playoff spot. I am rooting for the Cards unless / until things change and the math demands otherwise. That said - another division win would absolutely be sweet
  6. The only way that benefits the Brewers is if the Cardinals also play a lousy series against the Diamondbacks. With the Cardinals sweeping the first four against the Cubs, they would be at 89 wins, which means the Brewers would need to win at least six more just to tie them. And that only works if Arizona somehow sweeps the Cards. Seems unlikely.
  7. Yep. In my opinion we would reach that point if the Cards take 3 of these first 4 from the Cubs. Honestly, I’m rooting for the Cards and will continue to do so unless they fall apart and the division becomes a truly realistic goal.
  8. No way are the Cubs getting swept by the Pirates. You’d be better off factoring that they will sweep the Pirates in any hypothetical scenarios. Oh, I completely agree. See my worst case scenario that I posted previously. I was just looking at both best and worst cases. If the goal is to make the playoffs, Brewers fans would be most rational rooting for the Cards to beat the Cubs as much as possible. Obviously that hurts or kills their chances at the division, but it gives the best chance of making the playoffs.
  9. In an interesting quirk, the Cubs going 5-2 against the Cardinals could also lead to a best case scenario for the Crew. If that happened, and both the Cards and Cubs got swept in their other series’, they would both end up with 87 wins, and the Crew could win the division outright going just 5-4 in their last 9.
  10. Looking at the numbers right now, the absolute worst case scenario for the Brewers is: - Nats get to 90 or more wins - Cubs and Cards sweep both their series in between their head to heads - Cubs win 5 of 7 from the Cards In this case the Crew would need to win 7 of 9 to get to 90 wins and enter a 3 way tie for the division. Any other result between the Cards and Cubs is an improvement for the Brewers. On the positive side, the Brewers do control their own destiny with regard to a playoff spot. If they win 8 of 9, they are in no matter what. The Cards / Cubs series’ against each other sure simplifies things.
  11. Nice win, nice series win. Time to watch Cards v Cubs.
  12. Wow, the Cards and the Cubs both basically just won their games simultaneously. Ugh.
  13. Nice job Claudio. Now let’s put this one to bed.
  14. Great job by Peralta. He’s having a really nice night.
  15. Makes me wish I wasn't so cheap and had MLB.tv with the split screen. Wow! I didn’t realize MLB.TV had that feature. This is SO COOL! Thanks!
  16. Glad to see Arcia contribute at the plate. He turned it on last September, can he flip the switch again for the rest of this one? OK, probably not, but wouldn’t it be great!
  17. Okay, Shaw homered. Must be our night. Or, the apocalypse. Hopefully the former.
  18. After saying that this morning, I feel like I should be going to Vegas, or, at least, playing the lottery. Epic call! I want to tag along on your Vegas trip please!?
