    I was just adding on some additional names that should be returning as he was already mentioned. Shears is throwing off the mound and I would expect him to be pitching in games by May or June at the latest. He had his TJ surgery on March 28 last year and hasn’t had any setbacks that I’m aware of.

    Galindez had a non-TJ elbow surgery and was hoping to be full go for spring training last I heard. Brandon Knarr and Cameron Wagoner should be healthy again as well.

    RHP Josh Knoth is about a month and a half removed from Tommy John surgery and will miss the entire 2025 season.

    The Brewers have signed RHP Albert Vargas, Jr. as an international free agent out of Venezuela. He is represented by the same agency as RHP Jesus Rivero. Not much is known about Vargas except that he works in the low 90’s with his fastball at the moment.

    Former Brewers farmhand Luis Castro has been signed by the Houston Astros. Castro spent the 2021 season between Biloxi and Nashville, but has been out of affiliated ball ever since, playing in independent and foreign leagues the past few years.

    Former Brewers Aussie farmhands C Alex Hall and INF Jesse Williams are headed to the Australian Baseball League Championship Series in hopes of brining home a “Claxton Shield”. They’ve both played a major role in Perth’s terrific season and are two of the best players in the ABL.

    RHP Nash Walters, former top Brewers draft pick back in ‘15, has signed on with the Chunichi Dragons in Japan after working with Driveline this offseason. Walters made an extremely brief MLB debut in 2022 for the Angels.

    LHP Adam Seminaris, acquired with Janson Junk and Elvis Peguero from the Angels in the Hunter Renfroe trade a couple years back, has signed a minor league contract with Seattle. The southpaw had been released by Milwaukee back in October.

    Bob Uecker Field at Miller Park a la Rickey Henderson Field at the Oakland Coliseum. It’ll always be Miller Park in my eyes, but I like the idea of finding a way to include Ueck. He was Milwaukee through and through.

    Like I said, every player will be forced to make adjustments. After watching him develop the past fours years, there’s no reason for any changes to be made at this point. Oftentimes, prematurely making those changes to a players’ mechanics are where development goes awry. A bat waggle in itself shouldn’t concern many evaluators, especially with the results he has had, and that’s really the only thing that is out of the ordinary for Areinamo. His bat waggle doesn’t force his hands to “catch up” and rush his swing, his head stays fairly level, and he repeats his swing mechanics well. Many players (hitters and pitchers) with a lot of movement have trouble repeating their mechanics cleanly, but he does not struggle in that regard.

    Areinamo has been very consistent and, in fact, improved at each subsequent level. While he will certainly be tested in the cavernous Southern League, I give him all of the benefit of the doubt. To be fair, every single player that has ever played the game at any level has been forced to make some changes. There’s nothing particularly worrisome for Jadher that would be any different from anyone else in my eyes.

    LHP Joey Broughton threw a baseball for the first time since his July 2, 2024 Tommy John procedure on Tuesday. That puts him slightly behind the typical 4-5 month return to playing light catch. The goal is still to make it back to the mound in time for the conclusion of the ACL season, but, right now, that seems like a bit of a stretch. Given how highly the organization regards him and this current timeline, he may be better off making his pro debut later in the summer with the Mudcats if Milwaukee is comfortable with handing him that challenge coming off of a major surgery.

    1.) Fast riser- SS Jesus Made is the easy answer so I will go with RHP Jason Woodward 2.) Out of nowhere- LHP Wande Torres seems like a favorite so how about RF Handelfry Encarnacion 3.) Rise to Top 100- Many options here so I will say RHP Josh Knoth 4.) Comeback player- RHP Ryan Birchard 5.) Skip 6.) Prediction- Brewers will have #1 farm system one year from now despite a fair amount of prospect graduations in ‘25. 7.) Future star that doesn’t fit other categories- C Luis Corobo

    In case anyone needed further confirmation that we know this system better than any of the major prospect publications, here you go. My personal favorite is Gasser all the way down at #16 although Knoth and Meccage over Henderson is pretty funny as well.

    I believe I have him at #15, but I could make an argument to put him higher as his risk level is much lower than some other prospects with higher ceilings.

    RHP Sam Carlson has inked a MiLB deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The former top draft pick of the Mariners signed on with Milwaukee last year and spent the entire season with AA Biloxi.

    One of the best guys I’ve met-Payton Henry-has signed on with the Philadelphia Phillies, a team that seems to value former Brewers farmhands (i.e. Weston Wilson, Max Lazar, Max McDowell just to name a few). Can’t possibly root harder for the guy especially after his scary on-field situation last year and the recent passing of his brother, Brooks.

    None nearly as established or in as close proximity to the majors as Quero, but some names to keep an eye on are Luis Corobo, Marco Dinges, and Edgardo Ordonez. Dinges and Ordonez are bat-first and may not stick behind the plate, however.

    Luis Corobo is very highly regarded in the organization. Many view him as a potential Quero 2.0

    Former Brewers Rule 5 pick Colin Walsh will be coming out of retirement for the European Baseball Championships next year, representing Ireland.

    Venezuelan RHP Jose Arias has been signed to a minor league contract. That’s all the info we have on Arias at the moment.
