  1. I haven’t heard anything since late April, but his absence has been longer than anyone originally expected. I’ll check in with him again, but I expect a similar response of hopefully not too much longer.
  2. Not really surprising, he’s already been out nearly 60 days. This move just means his absence will be a total of at least 60 days, not that he’ll be out another two months. In the meantime, it allows for another opening to bring someone stateside from the DSL (or sign someone).
  3. 3B Demetrio Nadal is still about 2-3 weeks from his stateside debut.
  4. Both RHP Aldrin Gonzalez and LHP Wande Torres are nearing their returns from Tommy John surgery. They both expect to make their season debuts within the next week or two.
  5. For those that struggle to find info about the DSL like me, I spoke with Ben Badler about when the league is supposed to get underway this year. He told me that even the teams themselves have not received the schedule for this season yet which is absolutely ridiculous. However, the expectation is that the DSL campaign will begin on June 1 or June 3.
  6. 05/04/24 Biloxi Shuckers sent 3B Brock Wilken on a rehab assignment to ACL Brewers. 05/04/24 SS Demetrio Nadal assigned to ACL Brewers from DSL Brewers 2. As I expected, here is the Nadal move as well as a pleasant surprise rehab assignment. I still believe that there will be more moves on the pitching side in the coming days because not all of those pitchers currently on the roster are healthy.
  7. Nadal is in Arizona which means there will be at least a couple more official additions to the roster before May 4.
  8. This has to be one of the happiest bits of info that I’ve ever passed along (although it’s bittersweet given the organization :/ ). RHP Daniel Missaki has signed with the Chicago Cubs in what marks the end of a long journey back to affiliated ball.
  9. RHP Ryan Birchard has been dealing with an oblique issue and his absence should end up being a matter of weeks rather than months (hence the 7-day IL placement). All things considered, non-elbow issue = good news.
  10. Not necessarily “news”, but Adams said the injury he’s been dealing with is nothing serious and shouldn’t merit an IL stint.
  11. RHP Zach Vennaro has signed with independent Gastonia for the 2024 season.
  12. No problem, it happens! Excited to see what Tobias can do in Milwaukee!
  13. Should also clarify- Briceno is 100% healthy at this point in time.
  14. Unfortunately, it is one of those times during the year that is my least favorite for the transaction thread. RHP Kevin Briceno was released today and I fear that more moves will be announced in the near future.
  15. I will look more into it, but my expectation is that if Quero goes on the shelf for any amount of time, Clarke will move up to AAA and Garcia will head to Biloxi (Garcia will also help with the running game in Biloxi as someone mentioned could be a problem there in another thread). If that is not the case, I believe Alejandro Rodriguez will head back to the ACL when play begins and Garcia will move up to Wisconsin while Edgardo Ordonez takes his place in Carolina.
  16. RHP Tanner Shears, who was selected as Milwaukee’s reliever on their MiLB Organizational All-Star Team last year, underwent successful Tommy John surgery yesterday. He will miss the entire season and the early portion of 2025.
  17. Wanted to come back to this when I had time, but I spoke with a couple Brewers farmhands while I was in Arizona who both said that Yophery is the most gifted baseball player that they have ever seen. One even clarified that he believes Rodriguez will be THE star player on the Brewers in a couple years above Chourio, Contreras, Yelich, etc.
  18. Thompson is wrapping up rehab from an offseason surgery and “will be active for Nashville for their home opener.” Just ever so slightly behind on his rehab and will only miss three regular season games luckily.
  19. 1B Tayden Hall will start the season with the Mudcats once again.
  20. 1B Wes Clarke will not begin 2024 with Nashville as I previously reported, he also returns to Biloxi. Thus is the downside of having depth in the upper minors.
  21. RHP Josh Knoth will make his pro debut with the Mudcats next week
  22. Yophery Rodriguez will indeed follow the Chourio-Lara trajectory and skip the ACL en route to Carolina.
  23. 2B Jadher Areinamo will return to A+ Wisconsin to start the season. He had a brief stint there in 2022 as an 18-year-old.
  24. LHP Nate Peterson is moving up to AA Biloxi to start the season.
