  1. Williams landed back on the IL after re-aggravating his wrist injury and has been sent to Arizona. His season is likely in jeopardy. Adams’ situation is less worrisome and the hope is that he will be out close to the minimum seven days.
  2. RHP Bryce Meccage is back on the mound in the bridge league. The right-hander is on track to return to Wisconsin by the end of the month if Milwaukee opts not to hold him back and wait for the Arizona Fall League.
  3. LHP Joan Peña is being promoted to Single-A Wilson.
  4. Underwent Tommy John surgery in July. Optimistic target for a return could be late 2027, but there’s a chance we don’t see him on a big league mound until ‘28.
  5. Williams has been dealing with a sprained wrist and was expected to return sometime mid-August as of a couple weeks ago.
  6. RHP Cameron Wagoner tweaked his foot and the expectation is that he won’t be out much longer than the minimum 7 days.
  7. As many are already aware, it has been a tough road thus far for RHP Cole Phillips. There is now a light at the end of the tunnel for the right-hander as he is basically pain free for the first time in four years. He was up to 93 mph in his most recent bullpen as he continues to build up and facing hitters should not be far off.
  8. Missed the target by a day, but Dinges makes his first Double-A start behind the dish.
  9. All I do is relay info but I appreciate it! In my opinion, Phillips has to be the most intriguing story to follow given his history and talent when healthy. There’s still a slim chance we could see him by season’s end, but it’s going to come down to the wire.
  10. Started off last season with elbow soreness and ended up undergoing his second TJ in late May/early June 2025. The lefty was holding out hope to get into some games before the end of the season as of my last update a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, that didn’t end up being possible and so he will look towards a normal offseason. Arizona Fall League could be a possibility.
  11. I was actually looking at this the other day. It’s honestly been one of the healthiest seasons in recent memory across the board, pitchers and position players, both in terms of total IL time and number of players that have missed at least some time. That being said, you’d think that would mean a solid year of pitching development in the system and it just hasn’t quite been that. There has been an odd offensive explosion across the minors this year which has led to outstanding breakouts for hitters and what has seemingly been regression for pitchers. MLB has denied experimenting with the baseballs being used, but there has been significant drag reduction on this year’s balls which causes them to carry further and pitches to not get as much movement. I do expect to see (at least I am hoping for) a more balanced 2027 with more promising results from the young arms. For me, I see the theme being the year of the free pass with BB/9 up from 4.2 in 2025 to 5.4 this year. Again, that may partially be a product of whatever unintentional changes were made with the baseball, so hopefully that trend will flip again next season.
  12. Target for Dinges’ return behind the plate is now by August 1.
  13. Gillis has a partial UCL tear and is now waiting on a second opinion to determine course of action. His 2026 season is over, but there is a chance that he might be able to avoid surgery which could potentially save a significant portion of his 2027 campaign.
  14. He has dealt with extensive shoulder problems throughout his recovery. Recently, it was discovered that he has a lesion in his shoulder that will require surgery. Suffice to say that it’s unlikely we will see him pitch this season and his 2027 campaign will likely be impacted as well.
  15. If I were to guess, this is where the story will end. I don’t think we will hear the outcome of any supposed investigation. All I will say is that I can’t remember a time that I was more disappointed in the organization, not the org itself but some individuals within. Of course, the COVID season releases were heartbreaking, but one can understand those moves to some extent. Having heard some names rumored to have been involved in this situation only makes it worse. Hernández has legitimate talent and I hope that he can find another opportunity stateside so that we can continue to watch him develop.
  16. There is supposedly an MLB investigation involving alleged bullying in the Brewers organization last season in which Hernández was the victim, or one of the victims. The right-hander decided (or was advised) not to return to the U.S. and report for spring training at least until the investigation was completed. As of last week, Hernández was still in Nicaragua with no plans to return to Arizona. That is essentially all we know at this point.
  17. If we see him this year, he will definitely require an extended ramp up at the Arizona complex. It’s possible that today’s move is a precursor to an assignment to the ACL if he’s preparing to return to the states, but I have not heard that is expected at this point. It’s also possible that he’s being moved to the restricted list for the time being.
  18. Interesting that this came through today. Unfortunately, Hernández is not with the Warbirds at this time.
  19. Episcope, Phillips, and Josh Timmerman all continue to progress from their respective elbow procedures, but each has dealt with some nagging things that have delayed their timelines. Timmerman is the closest to a return and will begin throwing live to hitters next Friday. He hopes to be sent out to an affiliate sometime in August. Episcope is about 2 or 3 weeks from facing hitters while Phillips is still about a month out. While these timelines, like Ramirez, are pushing the end of the season, there is a greater chance that we see them in the regular season since both are likely ready for Single-A (at least). For most pitchers returning from major injuries, teams would probably just be happy getting them prepared for a normal offseason which might be the case for Episcope. However, the organization knows how much Cole Phillips has been through and how eager he is to finally get on the mound in a game and so there is added incentive to get him back and have him throw a couple of times before season’s end as it would mean a great deal to him; a small victory given what he’s been through.
  20. RHP Johandry Ramirez is in a similar boat to Flores. The right-hander is also working his way back from a muscle tear. He was slated to make his stateside debut in 2026, but, with a return to the mound scheduled for August, it is unlikely we will see him in regular season MiLB action this year.
  21. RHP Jesus Flores has been out since late April with a grade 3 lat tear. His first rehab outing is scheduled for August 25. The belief is that it’s unlikely he will return to an affiliate before the end of the season, but the Arizona Fall League could theoretically be a possibility.
  22. Unfortunately, I am limited on what I can share about guys on the 40-man typically, but I have heard that he should be back behind the plate soon.
  23. My update from mid-May: ”Elbow inflammation for Meccage. It seems as though he avoided anything too serious, but he’s looking at a return to the mound in a month or two.” The right-hander has been back at the Arizona complex since that time.
  24. From July 3rd game thread: ”Not only did this impressive lineup (still minus 1B Blake Burke, nursing a lower body injury with an exact nature and severity to be determined)” Burke is feeling good and expects to be back in the lineup soon, possibly even tomorrow (technically today at this point) or Tuesday.
