  1. 2B Jadher Areinamo will return to A+ Wisconsin to start the season. He had a brief stint there in 2022 as an 18-year-old.
  2. LHP Nate Peterson is moving up to AA Biloxi to start the season.
  3. Most players that are starting the year in AAA left Arizona yesterday. As for your other questions, I may have answers for you tomorrow night.
  4. RHP TJ Shook returning to Biloxi for another go around.
  5. 1B Zavier Warren going to Biloxi as well. Lots of familiar faces in AA to start the year.
  6. Add LF Isaac Collins to the list of names headed to Nashville
  7. SS Freddy Zamora heading back to Biloxi as well
  8. Frustrated for him because he deserves better, but hopefully a short stay back in Biloxi: LF Noah Campbell starting 2024 with the Shuckers.
  9. Stating the obvious here, but just getting these out of the way by confirming all of the following are heading to Nashville to start the season- RHP Carlos Rodriguez RHP Evan McKendry RHP Tobias Myers RHP Janson Junk LHP Robert Gasser RHP James Meeker LHP Darrell Thompson C Brian Navarreto 1B Wes Clarke 2B Oliver Dunn 2B Patrick Dorrian SS Vinny Capra 3B Tyler Black LF Brewer Hicklen CF Chris Roller CF Chavez Young
  10. Confirmed another unsurprising assignment to start the year- RHP Harold Chirino will head to AAA Nashville
  11. 3B Luke Adams will begin his second full professional season with the Rattlers. Not a surprising assignment, but still impressive as just a 19-year-old on Opening Day.
  12. Not sure when we will see his name in the lineup, but he looked completely healthy when I saw him earlier this week.
  13. Interesting that no information was posted about the first week or so of MiLB games. Glad to see the return of spring lineup posts.
  14. Oh, and he has been a two-way guy this winter with strong results (considering his long layoff) on both sides of the ball.
  15. Not sure if this has been reported already, but RHP Jolon “Lun” Zhao, a once promising Brewers farmhand with a jaw-dropping curveball that retired in 2022 due to a lengthy injury history, is back playing in the U.S. in the California Winter League and hopes to rejoin affiliated ball at some point in the near future.
  16. He’ll be 22 in A+ which will likely be more than a full year younger than the average age for that level.
  17. Not official as of yet, but it seems that the Brewers are signing 1B/C Andy Yerzy to a minor league contract.
  18. I don’t think Dave Arnold would have the authority to say yes or no. Matt Arnold perhaps
  19. Just what I’ve seen and heard from those in and around the organization (and Baez himself), but I respect your glass half-full mentality. It’s not a knock on Báez, just the reality of his skillset which, yes, can change/improve, but it’s often more beneficial to help build up a player in the environment where they can more easily thrive rather than challenge them with a task that isn’t likely to work out well in the first place.
  20. Wilken, at this point, will likely end up as the everyday third baseman in a couple years. Black will handle the hot corner until then and then will likely split his time 1B/2B/3B/OF/DH. As long as they get Black regular ABs they don’t care where he is playing. Also, once again, Juan Baez is not a shortstop going forward. Yes, he’ll continue to see time there and may need to play there regularly at times when he is the best option at whatever level he finds himself due to injury/promotion of better defensive options. However, please stop floating the question of him being a bat-first SS of the future when that has been discussed already on many of your threads.
  21. I think it’s fair to say that C-Rod has the highest floor of any pitcher in the organization if we are talking specifically about starting. Gasser, at least for me, doesn’t come particularly close at this point, purely in terms of floor. In my head, if I had to choose one starter from the organization to be the guy going forward, I seriously question whether it would be Miz or C-Rod simply due to the risk with Miz (health, durability, probability of transitioning to relief). I think it’s fair to leave Gasser out of this convo for now. Knoth might be up there too, just a different timeline altogether like you said.
  22. If I had my way- Peralta Miley Gasser Rea Ashby if healthy / Junk otherwise I need to see Joe Ross in the spring before handing him 5th spot, although, if Ashby IS healthy, I would rather have AA anyways. I would like C-Rod to get at least half of a season at AAA before he could move into the big league rotation. I am also quite high on Evan McKendry and wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up in there somewhere. I don’t see Misiorowski starting for Milwaukee in ‘24, but he might get some meaningful innings out of the bullpen late in the season.
  23. Brewers might have the deepest collection of Rodriguez’s in all of baseball. 2 Carlos’, Yophery, Yerlin, Manuel, Brailin, Aneuris, Alejandro, Donis, and now Ramon.
  24. The Brewers have signed C Ramon Rodriguez to a minor league contract. The 25-year-old Puerto Rican backstop was drafted by the Dodgers and has spent the past few seasons in the Orioles organization, climbing as high as AAA.
  25. Didn’t read the article, but we’ve discussed multiple times on this site already that Baez isn’t a shortstop going forward. Yes, he’ll still see some time there on occasion, but the combination of him simply being better suited elsewhere and other, more defensively advanced options in the system have pushed him out of that position.
