Ernesto reported to spring camp yesterday which was the official position player report date for minor league camp. He said he’s fully healthy, they just do not want to get him started too early after his injury-shortened campaign last year. Goal is to be ready to go by opening day and be well-resting and prepared for a full season

Don’t have the time to read the article or comments right now, but a successful 2023 for the Brewers is 1 of 2 scenarios with virtually no variation: 1.) Brewers narrowly make the postseason via a wild card spot while relying on their starting pitching depth once again with an early elimination from the postseason. 2.) Brewers are not contending around the trade deadline or, at the very least, clearly have no shot of a division title and decide to capitalize on the most valuable major league assets by selling in order to build the best, deepest young organization and farm system in baseball. This would set them up for competitive baseball for years and years to come as well as free up salary space.

Mendez, Quero, and Turang all proved a great deal in 2022 if we all step out of our chancyphile lens and into reality for a second. I suppose I can see a case for Turang having to prove himself ,once again, at the major league level this season, but ‘22 went a long way in showing his value. Also, Gasser shouldn’t have any pressure put on him to prove anything in regards to “being the return for Hader”. Gasser will go out in 2023 and be the exciting pitcher that he has been in the past.

What you say is definitely fair, but I think you should check again on Robinson and Devanney. This is not the first season in which either has impressed. Also, I don’t know who Richards is

I guess at that point it’s just playing the odds. There are many guys on the lists above that the organization desperately wants to keep. It’s just extremely unlikely that guys like Castaneda, Jarvis, or Valerio would be picked simply because there is a number of other prospects every year that are “MLB-ready” and have had better numbers at higher levels than those I have just mentioned, and most of those players don’t even get picked because most organizations aren’t even in a position to take a chance on that roster spot. That doesn’t mean that the Brewers don’t value those guys, it’s just they (and the other organizations) know those players aren’t ready yet.

Turang, Robinson, and Uribe are all locks from what I have heard. Clayton Andrews is a guy that the organization is still quite high on so I wouldn’t be surprised if he is added.
