  1. The optimistic view of this... his FIP (3.78) and xFIP (3.54) are much better than his actual ERA (5.89). The Brewers with their defense have gotten in general better ERA's than FIP/xFIP would indicate, so if they can continue that trend with Norris, that would be good. He's also been very good against lefties. So if you can minimize his appearances against lefties, he could work out (although the 3 batter minimum could make that difficult):
  2. I got the email too. Here's what it said:
  3. I will upvote Six Feet Under and watching Better Call Saul once you complete BB as well. Both addictive shows!
  4. I enjoyed it. I watched it awhile ago and I think it may have taken a few episodes for me to get into, but it's a weird (obv. lol), dark show, with some good intense moments.
  5. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm a big Fargo fan, so I figured I'd check out the first episode last night, ended up watching the first three. Definitely worth a watch if you like good, dark humor, quirky shows. Cool. Yeah. It is cool.
  6. Patriot. (Not 'The" Patriot, the Mel Gibson movie. ) Patriot could be my favorite TV series of all time, it's two seasons. Best way I can describe it it's a dark comedy. Not really the same as Fargo, but if you loved Fargo you'll probably love Patriot. It's unlike anything you've seen, in a good way. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm a big Fargo fan, so I figured I'd check out the first episode last night, ended up watching the first three. Definitely worth a watch if you like good, dark humor, quirky shows.
  7. There are some flash forward scenes that you won't understand but I might even recommend BCS before Breaking Bad so you don't know who lives, dies or will not appear in Breaking Bad. I'm torn because I think they play off of that knowledge as well, but I think you could watch them in either order really. It'll form some interesting discussion once there are people that have watched it in chronological order to see if they feel like they missed anything watching it that way.
  8. I would also add that, at least for me, having seen Breaking Bad adds some intensity to some scenes that involve characters that *aren't* in Breaking Bad because you know they're not around anymore, one way or another.
  9. Both YouTubeTV and Hulu Live were/are about $55/mo. The way I may end up going is: 1.) One of the Sling packages to get some general channels for $30/mo (+ perhaps the $10 sports addon to get MLB Network), 2.) MLB.TV single team package for $94 (or get all teams for $120), and 3.) NBA League Pass single team package for $18/mo (only needed for appx 6 months per year). That adds up to basically a $47/mo package over the course of a year ($57 if I tack on Sling sports). That said, I'm also in Maryland, so MLB.TV and NBA League Pass may have blackout restriction problems for others.
  10. This sucks as the ability to get Bucks and Brewers game through it was a huge reason I've been a customer for them... guess it's time to go back to MLB.TV...
  11. Ummm... okay, sounds like Fox Sports Wisconsin might be going away from YouTube TV in a couple days:
  12. I don't think adding a couple "Tanner Roarks" was going to "move the needle" in this rotation. They were able to grab Lyles to fill a spot for now at a reasonable cost and probably didn't find the price or need worth it to grab another mediocre pitcher to add to the back of the rotation. A return of Woodruff is going to be a bigger impact than any other reasonable acquisition would have been and when he returns he would have knocked them out of the rotation anyways. 2018-2019 Stats: Note: ERA isn't everything, but the obtainable pitchers this deadline were a whole pile of meh.
  13. Has anyone looked at Black's K/9 numbers? Holy moly. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=black-000ray
  14. From the trade simulator site: [sarcasm]Discussion over[/sarcasm]
  15. But didnt they get less quality for the other two better outfielders? Yelich's contract is quite a bit more attractive, which makes him arguably more valuable than either.
  16. Yah, I think that is how it works...what exactly are you trying to say? Haha, pretty sure he said that all in jest and is agreeing with you. It made me chuckle at least
  17. Definitely. We've got time to develop more outfielders now and if they don't pan out, we do have free agency and trades as options to fill holes as well.
  18. Part of me wonders if Stearns actually views the *larger* advantage in continuously obtaining young, controllable talent is *to* trade them for established pieces rather than to see who actually pans out hoping one becomes a superstar. Maybe in his calculations it takes 4 big time prospects to have 1 actually be the superstar you need, and while the others could be serviceable pieces, those positions can be filled in FA easily. Not to mention, you're using up major league roster spots in the meantime to allow players to develop and figure out who can make an impact at this level. So if you can trade 3 big prospects for a known star, you use up 1 fewer prospect finding a player and you remove some of the risk involved in both possibly not find that player at all and in wasting multiple roster spots on developing players who may ultimately bust. I don't know if any of that is true or not, but it'd be really interesting to hear DS's theories in this regard.
  19. Losing Harrison is rough, but it's pretty amazing to still have Woodruff/Burnes/Ortiz all escape the trade.
