  1. Well today was only the second time this month he's had two hits in a game.
  2. Important win. Always good to stop losing streaks from really getting going. Let's see if we can actually win the first game of a series.
  3. Did they do a procedure on Williams's back? Probably cleaned out a nerve. Impingement. Never mind. I see it was a stress fracture.
  4. Be glad to see the Marlins leave town. They are swinging some hot sticks.
  5. Ortiz starting to look like Weimer with all the pre swing movement.
  6. Finally catching some breaks in this series.
  7. You can survive a certain amount of it but eventually it'll burn out your bullpen.
  8. Hoskins and Mitchell getting hot would certainly help the cause.
  9. Just don't seem like we put much pressure on pitchers lately.
  10. That saved a couple of runs. Going to be another short start today though isn't it.
  11. Really don't like Ortiz samurai setup. Way too much movement to get the bat to the proper launch point. The barrel of a bat has to move an awful long distance and get settled as your stepping and doing that you're inducing a lot of angular momentum
  12. Myers is channeling his inner Peralta
  13. I absolutely despise high leg lifts.
  14. Trying to find a more video but there's definitely been some changes in Ortiz hand placement pre-launch and a bigger front foot swing. Bat is more vertical and seems to be late getting to the proper launch point quite often. Previously his hands were set up deeper with a more proper bat angle. When he was going well he had a relatively shallow launch angle and was slightly open when he swung even on pitches on the outer half. He was far better contact-wise before the changes. 15. I'm sure the long season is wearing them down as well but I'm more concerned that some of the mechanical stuff is not being fixed and adjustments made to how pitchers are approaching them.
  16. I'm also of the thought our hitting coaches aren't very good at in season corrections. Seem to have a decent handle on off-season prep but we always seem to fade badly in the second half.
