  1. In their small sample size, RHP Enoli Paredes is probably a bit more impressive than RHP Kevin Herget, but Herget comes with 2 option years (vs. none for Paredes). They’ve both gotten off to strong starts at Nashville, with Herget throwing max 94.0, Paredes max 96.5. I didn’t think they’d pull the trigger on this yet (Ashby option). They need starters for 26 games in 27 days. Janson Junk was mediocre last week and they said they want recently-claimed Vladimir Gutierrez to get a few starts in AAA, but the team will figure it out.
  2. There was an injury delay when Navarreto K’d to start the 9th inning on March 30. Maybe we can discern something from that video.
  3. - C Brian Navarreto transferred to AAA Nashville’s 60-day injured list from 7-day injured list
  4. Joey Wiemer and Kay-Lan Nicasia blasted homers in wins for Nashville and Carolina, while Dylan O’Rae got the clutch 2-RBI hit in Wisconsin’s victory. Biloxi fell in extras despite stellar work from Tyler Woessner. In their short series, Carolina swept Salem 3-0, while Biloxi and Wisconsin captured their home series 2-1 against Montgomery and Peoria, respectively. Nashville split its 6-game home series against St. Paul. Transactions: N/A Game Action: Nashville Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Nashville 8, St. Paul 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds’ website, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Sounds Wallop St. Paul on Sunday To Split Series With Robert Gasser injured and LHP Aaron Ashby called up to the majors, we got our first official look at 25-year old RHP Chad Patrick (acquired from Oakland for Abraham Toro), who did not disappoint in his brief start: 3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 2 Ks. Patrick’s velocity peaked at 95mph and he induced three groundouts with no batter’s exit velocity reaching 99mph. SS Vinny Capra (2-for-4, double, 2 RBIs) was the first Sounds’ hitter to get to and Saints starting pitcher (hard hit single to lead off the 3rd inning) and he also got the big 3-run double in the following inning to push Nashville’s lead to 4-0. Right fielder Joey Wiemer (2-for-3, HR, walk, 2 RBIs) started off that 4th inning with a walk, then delivered his 2-run blast in the same frame to extend the lead to 6-0. If he’s getting more comfortable with his new swing, this may position him for a return to the Show provided that regular at-bats are available. Sounds’ Extras: With 8,053 in attendance on a lovely afternoon, this was undoubtedly a fun game to end the series on. Every Sound in the lineup reached base, with eight producing hits. The outfield of Chavez Young, Chris Roller and Wiemer was especially productive, combining on a 6-for-11 day with 5 RBIs. The bullpen went six innings strong, conceding just one run on two hits, with LHP Nick Bennett giving the team two innings of middle relief. Next week’s outlook: The Sounds (4-5) hit the road to take on Cardinals’ affiliate Memphis (4-5), with RHP Janson Junk scheduled to start the series opener on Tuesday. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Montgomery 3, Biloxi 1 (in 12 innings) Box Score and Game Log Via the Shuckers’ website, game details: Woessner Tosses Six Shutout Innings in Debut, Shuckers Fall in 12 RHP Tyler Woessner would have been the talk of the day, if only the Shuckers had come through as victors. But we can still marvel at his 8K, no walk, 2-hit (both singles) shutout of the Biscuits over 6 innings. Both of those singles came in the 4th inning, but Woessner and 2B Freddy Zamora did a great job to eliminate the threat with this nifty inning-ending double play. Unfortunately, nothing was happening offensively for Biloxi in this one, as the team did not get a runner to second base until the 8th inning despite getting the leadoff hitter on base in four of the first seven frames. RHP Nick Merkel did a great job in striking out the side in the 11th inning, only to concede a double and a walk in the top of the 12th as Montgomery grabbed the win. Shuckers’ Extras: The 8th inning was especially painful, as the squad loaded the bases with one out in a still scoreless affair, only to see center fielder Eduardo Garcia (.000 OPS in the young season) pop out and DH Eric Brown Jr. K (1-for-5, SB). RHPs Sam Gardner, Bo Bowman and James Meeker picked up where Woessner left off in their first appearances of 2024, not allowing any baserunners over four innings of sterling work (with 4 Ks). Given the pitching dominance, C Andy Yerzy’s (1-for-3, walk) first game in the organization can likely be considered a success, although he wasn’t able to throw out either attempted basestealer. Do yourself a BIG favor and check out the Shuckers Twitter-X feed to see many amazing defensive highlights, including two from SS Ethan Murray. Next week’s outlook: The Shuckers (2-1) head out to take on the Mississippi Braves (0-3) for six games this week, with RHP TJ Shook scheduled to start on Tuesday. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Wisconsin 5, Peoria 4 Box Score and Game Log Via the Timber Rattlers’ website, game details: An O’Rae Kind of Day in Wisconsin Win Evidently Friday’s opening day one-hit futility was truly just nerves, as Wisconsin cranked out 14 hits in Sunday’s victory, with six players collecting two hits each. As great as that sounds, the Timber Rattlers had to come-from-behind twice in this tight game, as detailed in the game report and seen in the highlight video above. RHP Edwin Jimenez consistently works deeper into games than many of his peers, earning the win in his first start of the year: 6 IP, 3 R, 7 H, 3 BB, 4 Ks. We’ve seen Dylan O’Rae start at second base, center field and now designated hitter, reaching base three times in this game: 2-for-4, double, HBP, 2 RBIs. Timber Rattlers’ Extras: RHP Craig Yoho needed just seven pitches to clinch the save, despite entering with the potential game-tying run on second base. Center fielder Luis Lara helped Jimenez end the 5th inning by gunning down a Chief trying to stretch a double into a triple. 1B Luke Adams might feel like he was left of the party, going 0-for-5 on the day and still searching for his first hit. However, he didn’t strikeout and he put the ball in the air three times (lineout, fly out, pop out) and is too talented (in my opinion) not to start seeing results. Next week’s outlook: Wisconsin (2-1) heads to South Bend (1-2), with RHP Patricio Aquino scheduled to start Game One against the Cubs’ affiliate on Tuesday. Final: Carolina 10, Salem 7 Box Score and Game Log Via the Mudcats’ website, game details: Mudcats Offense Explodes in Finale to Sweep Salem Carolina completed its opening weekend demolition at Salem by grabbing a 10-2 lead by the 5th inning, then hanging on. Sticking with the Sunday theme, all nine lineup spots reached base with eight position players collecting at least one hit. The Mudcats also ran the Red Sox ragged by stealing six bases without being caught. 21-year old starting RHP Yorman Galindez got the relatively quick hook after just 45 pitches (2 2/3 IP, 2 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 4 Ks), with RHP Josh Timmerman actually getting the bulk of the work in relief: 4 IP, 2 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 6 Ks. In prior Link Reports, we’ve openly wondered about Carolina’s relatively lack of infield depth, which was further tested in this game with 1B Tayden Hall’s early exit due to food poisoning. Enter outfielder and apparent second baseman Kay-Lan Nicasia (2-for-3, HR, walk, 2 RBIs), who manned the keystone for the final eight innings and homered in his first plate appearance of the game. Mudcats’ Extras: Putting two 18-year olds atop the lineup worked out very well for the Mudcats, with 3B Juan Baez and center fielder Yophery Rodriguez combining on a 5-for-11 day with a triple, 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. The main lowlights for Carolina were their three errors (though we’ll forgive Nicasia his, since this was his first infield stint since 2022) and RHP Aidan Maldonado struggling to cover the 8th inning: three earned runs while allowing an inherited runner to score. For the second straight game, the hits weren’t falling in for SS Cooper Pratt (0-for-3), but he reached base twice via walks. Recently-signed outfielder Yhoswar Garcia was the designated hitter in this game and the speedster is trouble for opposing clubs on the basepaths: 2-for-5, RBI, 2 SBs. Next week's outlook: Carolina (3-0) returns home to host Rangers’ affiliate Down East (3-0) for a 6-game series starting on Tuesday. 6. The Low-A Mudcats seek a 3rd straight victory in Salem, sending 21-year old RHP Yorman Galindez to the mound. RF Reidy Mercado also makes his first start of 2024.
  7. The AAA Sounds need a win today to salvage a 3-3 home series with St. Paul. Today, we get our first look at 25-year old RHP Chad Patrick, acquired for Abraham Toro in the offseason.
  8. High-A Wisconsin is tied 1-1 in their home series against Peoria. 22-year old RHP Edwin Jimenez gets today’s start, hoping to earn a promotion after throwing 102 innings for the Timber Rattlers last year.
  9. The AA Shuckers have won consecutive 1-run games to start the season and look to take a 3-0 series lead at home against Montgomery. 24-year old RHP Tyler Woessner gets today’s start, with newcomer C Andy Yerzy behind the plate.
  10. Thank you @Joseph Zarr for the helpful observations.
  11. Biloxi has just 1 hit through 6 innings, but it’s enough for a 1-0 lead thanks to Bradley Blalock (5 IP, 1 H, 4 Ks) and 2B Freddy Zamora (solo shot):
  12. RHPs Ryan Birchard and Jesus Rivero are dominating Salem thus far, conceding only an unearned run and 2 hits while striking out 11 in 7 innings. Carolina leads 4-1. 1B Tayden Hall, C Satchell Norman, LF Yhoswar Garcia and 2B Miguel Briceno are 8-for-15 with 3 extra base hits, a walk, 3 RBIs and 3 SBs. Norman exited after 4 1/2 innings, hopefully not due to injury (he’d just struck out).
  13. The AAA Sounds are tied 2-2 in their home series against St. Paul, with RHP Tobias Myers making his 2nd start of 2024. Recently-signed Francisco Mejia (2-for-4 yesterday) makes his first start behind the plate.
  14. RHP Bradley Blalock makes his first AA start as Biloxi aims for a 2-0 home series lead over Montgomery. 2B Freddy Zamora and converted-CF Eduardo Garcia get their first starts of 2024.
  15. 20-year old RHP Ryan Birchard (2023 fifth round pick) makes his official first appearance as he looks to lead Low-A Carolina to a 2-0 series lead in Salem. The team also welcomes recently-signed LF Yhoswar Garcia.
  16. More moves today: Signed RHP Samuel Valerio and assigned to ACL Brewers (the 22-year old fireballer with control issues was released by the Royals two weeks ago) RHP Logan Henderson promoted to High-A Wisconsin from Low-A Carolina and placed on 7-day injured list INF Felix Valerio placed on AA Biloxi 7-day injured list RHP Rafael Garcia placed on Low-A Carolina 7-day injured list (Garcia last pitched on July 30, 2022, throwing only 1.1 innings that season; he’ll turn 23 later this month) RHP Kevin Briceno released by ACL Brewers 1B/OF Yeison Perez released by ACL Brewers RHP Darling Solano released by ACL Brewers RHP Henrison Mota released by ACL Brewers RHP Anthony Perez released by ACL Brewers LHP Aaron Ashby recalled to MLB Brewers from AAA Nashville (replacing injured RHP Jakob Junis)
  17. From yesterday: Signed C Francisco Mejia and assigned him to AAA Nashville INF Daniel Guilarte assigned to ACL Brewers from Low-A Carolina RHP Chad Patrick promoted to AAA Nashville from AA Biloxi C Blayberg Diaz assigned to Low-A Carolina from AAA Nashville C Alejandro Rodriguez placed on Development List INF Ben Metzinger placed on Development List C/1B Brayan Oropeza released by DSL Brewers-1 OF Irving Igualas released by DSL Brewers-1 RHP Nestor Mena released by DSL Brewers-1 LHP Pedro Quintana released by DSL Brewers-2 LHP Wade Miley sent on rehab assignment to AAA Nashville RHP Vladimir Gutierrez claimed from Marlins and optioned to AAA Nashville
  18. 25-year old RHP Jake Polancic, coming off 2 solid seasons in the independent Frontier League, got himself into trouble (2 walks), then freed himself from it (GIDP, K).
  19. SS Gregory Barrios 2-run double, 2B Jadher Areinamo 2-run single. Wisconsin leads 6-2, still in the 5th inning. Glove-first Barrios, who'll turn 20 on Monday, consistently puts the ball in play and can steal some bases (32 last year), so if he can keep his BABIP at about .320 (was just .267 last season, helping lead to a deflated OPS of .586 at Low-A Carolina) he can keep climbing the ranks.
  20. The Timber Rattlers have loaded the bases with nobody out in the bottom of the 5th inning in this 2-2 game: Luis Lara single, Mike Boeve single, Luke Adams HBP. Time to do some damage in support of Alexander Cornielle, who's probably done at 81 pitches (50 strikes).
  21. Wisconsin tied their hit total from yesterday (1) via a SS Gregory Barrios infield single in the 2nd inning, but he was then caught stealing. Thankfully, 1B Jesus Chirinos and CF Dylan O'Rae (isn't this lineup better with him in the outfield?) came through with an RBI double and RBI single to grab a 2-0 lead in the same frame.
  22. RHP Alexander Cornielle starts his early-promotion campaign this afternoon for High-A Wisconsin. Season debuts are on tap for C Ramon Rodriguez, 1B Jesus Chirinos and RF Terence Doston, as the Timber Rattlers strive to even their home series against Peoria.

  24. Cooper Pratt’s amazing night led Carolina to victory. Ernesto Martinez walked off a crazy Biloxi win. Brett Wichrowski and Francisco Mejia had solid debuts, but errors sent Wisconsin and Nashville to defeat. Image courtesy of Phrake Photography Defense is the theme of this Link Report, largely determining the outcome of all four Friday contests, three of which were one-run affairs with the fourth settled in extra innings. It was a wild and wacky Opening Night for Biloxi, Wisconsin and Carolina, with the chaos extending Nashville’s game as well. Transactions: Signed C Francisco Mejia and assigned him to AAA Nashville INF Daniel Guilarte assigned to ACL Brewers from Low-A Carolina RHP Chad Patrick promoted to AAA Nashville from AA Biloxi C Blayberg Diaz assigned to Low-A Carolina from AAA Nashville C Alejandro Rodriguez placed on Development List INF Ben Metzinger placed on Development List C/1B Brayan Oropeza released by DSL Brewers-1 OF Irving Igualas released by DSL Brewers-1 RHP Nestor Mena released by DSL Brewers-1 LHP Pedro Quintana released by DSL Brewers-2 LHP Wade Miley sent on rehab assignment to AAA Nashville RHP Vladimir Gutierrez claimed from Marlins and optioned to AAA Nashville We've also been informed by a Verified BrewerFantic Member and reliable contributor that RHP Kevin Briceno has been released from the ACL Brewers - he of the MILB career 2.40 ERA and 0.99 WHIP, but he missed last season due to injury. Released but healthy, though we await official confirmation. Game Action: Nashville Pre-Game Media Notes Final: St. Paul 6, Nashville 5 Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds’ website, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Sounds Slip Up in Loss to St. Paul LHP Wade Miley (3 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 3 Ks – 55 pitches) was effective in his rehab start and the Sounds out-hit St. Paul, but untimely errors and two outs on the basepaths thwarted Nashville’s comeback. Center fielder Joey Wiemer (2-for-3, double, 2 walks, RBI) had his best offensive game in some time, knocking in the Sounds’ first run as he reached base four times in five plate appearances. Unfortunately, his teammates weren’t able to bring him home after his lead-off 9th inning double. 3B Tyler Black needs to chalk this night up to a difficult learning experience and go get the next one. In his first game at third base this season, his errors in the 5th and 7th innings contributed to three unearned runs off of RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez (4 IP, 5 R (2 ER), 4 H, 4 BB, 4 Ks). Things didn’t go any better at the plate for Black, unfortunately, as his 0-for-5 night attests. Sounds’ Extras: I couldn’t help but wonder if the signing of C Francisco Mejia meant that fellow C Eric Haase might not actually be ready to play (e.g. injured, headed to Japan?), but both made their Sounds’ debuts, hitting fifth and sixth in the lineup while contributing a combined 4-for-9 night with 2 RBIs. Welcome gentlemen! The 22-year old Rodriguez registered four strikeouts, but wasn’t sharp in his second outing of the season. Unlike other levels of minor league ball, MILB.com game center’s pitch locations are relatively accurate at the AAA level, revealing that many of Carlos’ called balls are far outside the zone. Let’s recognize the solid work of RHPs Rob Zastryzny and Ryan Middendorf, delivering a combined 2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 5 Ks. Great night Joey, but let’s not attempt to steal third base (caught in the 1st inning) when Brewer Hicklen (1-for-4, walk, 2 SBs) is at the plate (singled into the abyss). Saturday’s outlook: RHP Tobias Myers is scheduled to make his second start of this young season as Nashville looks to grab a 3-2 series lead. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Biloxi 8, Montgomery 7 Box Score and Game Log Via the Shuckers’ website, game details: Martinez Jr. Caps off Improbable Comeback for Walk-Off Win You win some, you lose some and then sometimes the opposing team just crumbles for no discernable reason. Credit this Biloxi Opening Day win to the latter category. Down 7-2 with one out in the bottom of the 8th inning despite outhitting the Biscuits 8-7 by that point, Biloxi scored five unanswered runs in that same inning. How? Well, you know, the usual fashion: run-scoring balk, run-scoring error, run-scoring wild pitch, another error to score two runs. That’s right, no hits were required to re-set the game at 7-7 entering the 9th inning. After RHP Shane Smith (1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 0 BB, 1 K – Win) dispatched three Montgomery hitters in the top half of the inning, let’s queue Ernesto Martinez (2-for-5, double, 3 RBIs), the Shuckers’ talented 24-year old first baseman who re-upped with the Brewers’ organization for his 8th minor league season: Things had started in more customary fashion, with RHP Jacob Misiorowski (4 1/3 IP, 4 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 7 Ks) striking out consecutive batters to open the game and cruising through his first 2 1/3 innings. However, a walk, double and wild pitch cost Misiorowski two runs in the 3rd inning and he was somewhat surprisingly extended to a fifth frame (K, two walks – both of whom ultimately scored), exiting after throwing 75 pitches (42 strikes). If you like defense, enjoy this stellar play from SS Eric Brown Jr. (1-for-5, double) in the top of the 6th inning: Shuckers’ Extras: Power-hitting 3B Brock Wilken hit third and should be pleased to start the season with a 2-for-5 day. Unfortunately, we don’t have readings on exit velocity at this level, so we’ve got to get on the MILB.TV app or interpret game logs (e.g. “sharp line drive”) 2B Ethan Murray continues to get the job done whenever called upon and clearly has no intention of giving up a starting infield job: 2-for-3, 2 HBPs. 25-year old RHP Sam Carlson (1 1/3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 K) is also in his 8th minor league season, joining the Brewers’ organization via free agency. He immediately contributed in the first AA action he’s seen in his career, stranding three baserunners inherited from LHP Adam Seminaris (1 2/3 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 3 BB, 1 K) via a swinging strikeout to end the top of the 7th inning and retiring four of the five batters he faced. Despite hitting 26 homers last year, C Wes Clarke (0-for-4, walk) is back in AA ball to presumably work on his defense. He had two passed balls in this contest, while throwing out one of two attempted basestealers. Saturday’s outlook: 23-year old RHP Bradley Blalock (acquired for Luis Urias last season) is scheduled to make his first-ever AA start. Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Peoria 2, Wisconsin 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Timber Rattlers’ website, game details: Chiefs Chill Out Timber Rattlers Producing one hit while committing three errors won’t win any games and 21-year old RHP Brett Wichrowski (3 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 1 H, 1 BB, 4 Ks) had to unfortunately take the loss despite a solid first official game in the Brewers’ system. A 13th round draft pick in 2023 who received the lowest signing bonus in that round ($100,000), Wichrowski shone brightly in spring training and did nothing to dent his rise in this game, conceding just an infield hit and issuing one walk. As the game link details (read it!), the Timber Rattlers actually led this game 1-0 thanks to three walks and a hit-by-pitch in the first inning. Piggy-backing starters is a common feature of minor league baseball, with 23-year old LHP Brian Fitzpatrick (4 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 3 Ks) retiring 12 of 13 batters faced in the first High-A game of his young career. Timber Rattlers’ Extras: C Matt Wood was nearly Wisconsin’s entire offense, garnering the team’s only hit (a single), knocking in their only run (an RBI walk) and reaching base in all four trips to the plate (1-for-1, 3 walks). Of course, he’ll wish he threw out more than just one of six attempted basestealers. Defensive whiz Jadher Areinamo was the DH in this contest, while errors were committed by Wood, left fielder Jheremy Vargas and SS Gregory Barrios. Manager Victor Estevez may re-think the plan for Areinamo after digesting this result. High-A debuts for Barrios, 2B Dylan O’Rae and 1B Luke Adams resulted in a combined 0-for-10 day, but O’Rae walked, stole a base and scored the team’s only run. 24-year old Aaron Rund was signed out of independent ball and should be pleased after covering the 4th inning in his debut: 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 Ks. 2023 eighth round pick RHP Craig Yoho also pitched in his first game at full season affiliate level and can be encouraged with the result: 1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 Ks. Saturday’s outlook: 22-year old RHP Alexander Cornielle (4.55 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 9.3 K/9 in 89.0 IP last season) is back in High-A ball and ready to make his first start of 2024. Final: Carolina 6, Salem 4 (in 10 innings) Box Score and Game Log Via the Mudcats’: Mudcats Rally in Ninth, Explode in Extras to Win 2024 Opener Although many eyes were focused on RHP Josh Knoth (the 33rd overall draft pick of 2023 made his organizational debut) and center fielder Yophery Rodriguez (making the huge leap from the Dominican Summer League to Low-A ball), it was 19-year old SS Cooper Pratt who stole the show. Pratt nearly hit for the cycle in a 3-for-4, 2 RBI day, saving the Mudcats with a game-tying triple with two outs in the top of the 9th inning, then converting a double play in the bottom half of the inning to help send the game to extras when all hope appeared lost. Knoth (3 IP, 2 R, 2 H, 2 BB, 4 Ks – 53 pitches) conceded two runs in the 2nd inning, but finished strong by striking out the final two batters he faced in the 3rd inning. The pitch count may be a sign that new Mudcats Manager Nick Stanley has the green light to allow Knoth go deeper into games than Misiorowski and Logan Henderson did at the start of their careers. 20-year old RHP Yujanyer Herrera (3 2/3 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 3 BB, 6 Ks – 64 pitches) was solid over the middle innings. Similar to Misiorowski’s line above, don’t let walks to the final two batters he faced tarnish the solid work. Being his third consecutive year in Low-A ball, Herrera is undoubtedly targeting a promotion. After Pratt twice gave Carolina new life, the team took advantage of an error and two walks in the 10th inning, with right fielder Kay-Lan Nicasia and 2B Miguel Briceno then delivering RBI singles to grab a 6-3 lead. RHPs Morris Austin and Blake Whiting can be pleased with their first appearances of the season, combining on 2 1/3 scoreless innings, 3 Ks and a save for Whiting. Mudcats’ Extras: Putting 24-year old C David Garcia in Low-A ball after playing in AA for the Rangers the last two seasons is perhaps geared toward giving the young Carolina pitchers a veteran presence to guide them. In this game, Garcia also contributed to the victory by gunning down both stolen base attempts and reaching base himself a few times (walk, HBP). Rodriguez may not be thrilled with his 0-for-5 day, but he did draw a walk and have no problems manning center field. The greater concern may be 20-year old left fielder Luis Castillo, who also went 0-for-5, stranding seven runners on the basepaths. He’d have stranded eight if not for a Salem throwing error which enabled ghost runner 1B Tayden Hall (2-for-4, walk, RBI – carrying over nicely from a solid showing in Australia) to score in the top of the 10th inning for a 4-3 lead. The Mudcats appear short-handed in the infield after promotions of O’Rae and Barrios, but the remedy (Daniel Guilarte repeating a level?, surprise promotion of Eric Bitonti, Johan Barrios or Demetrio Nadal?) is unclear. Saturday’s outlook: 20-year old RHP Ryan Birchard (2023 fifth round pick) will make his organizational debut in Game 2 of Carolina’s series in Salem.
